About Cath Davis

Why Cath Davis chose Cotes d'Armor

We fell in love with Dinan the first time we visited it, the combination of a walled medieval town with a bustling port is unique certainly in this part of France. There is always something to do - even if it's just watching the world go by from a creperie on the banks of the river. There are heaps of places to go and things to see in Brittany but nothing beats a lazy afternoon by the river with a good bottle of red ! Rue du Four is the ideal location to explore from or to just hang-out at. Sitting on the terrace in the evening sun can't be beaten.

What makes this house unique

This little house overlooks the river Rance and the port of Dinan. It is a fabulous base for walking and cycling as there are tow paths in both directions along the river. There are several restaurants in the port, a 2 minute stroll accross the bridge, so you don't need to drive anywhere in the evening. A more challenging walk is up the famous Rue du Jersual into the medieval town itself.

This part of Britanny has a stunning coast line and beautiful and historic towns. Try Lancieux or Saint Jacut de la Mer as well as the wonderful towns of St Malo and Dinard

Gorgeous house with character and beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We had a very lovely stay at 8 Rue Du Four. We usually hire inside the rempart to avoid the steep rue Jerzual as we have small children but being the other side of the river Rance was very lovely as it is located by the river with restaurants, crêperies and a boulangerie just over the charming little bridge. You have the canal for walking, running or cycling along steps alway from your door step.

The house is spacious with a big kitchen and a nice size lounge. The TV works and it has satellite with English and French channels and a Xbox with games.

The 2 bedrooms are charming and cosy.

The owners are lovely, they speak both English and French and showed us around the house.

We would love to come back there we had a great time!!

Ps: great big fridge, a little freezer would be very handy :)

Hope to come back soon!!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

The property suited us perfectly (2 couples) and was well appointed.

We were met by John and he explained parking how everything worked.

The property is close to many restaurants which we enjoyed. The Port of Dinan is very picturesque and great fun to walk around.

Parking was provided in a nearby lot and wifi was good too.

We would love to return in the future.

Thanks Cath and John we love your house.

Great little house in great location.

  • 4 of 5

House was clean and comfortable. Good beds. Ran out of toilet paper and had trouble figuring out the TV. Remote seemed to have problem but since most Programs were in French, didn't matter much. Restaurant across river played music all night on week ends. But still a good place overall.

Sweet house in a beautiful town

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Cath for such a wonderful home to stay in. The lovely sunny bedroom was a pleasure to wake up in. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the terrace overlooking the opposite bank of the river. We loved being so close to the bustling marina and within easy distance to the town via Rue Peitit Four. We also found a back street to access the viaduct and walked into town that way a couple of times- what a great view over the port from the viaduct and castle ramparts! We enjoyed walks to beautiful Lehon and also Taden via the Rance path. We also had a couple of lovely meals at La Laumachelle across the river. The provisions you left for us including a bottle of wine were a lovely touch. Thanks again for everything including very clear directions to the property. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from staying at this property and it was a perfect place to stay on so many levels. Cath met us at the door and gave us a quick tour showing us all the things we needed to know. The house is very well equipped with all that you would wish, yes there is no freezer section in fridge but didn't miss it a whole lot.

Simply decorated with comfy beds and sofa ( plenty big enough for the 4 if us and good shower facility. ( I hate a dribbly shower!)

Location was ideal with everything so close by, river walks , boat and bike hire and of course Dinan

We will be back
