Beautiful two bedroom apartment, 4 min from tube, in Islington, Central London

This beautiful two bedroom apartment is on a leafy tree-lined street in Islington, Central London with fast transport to the sights. With a large TV plus on-demand entertainment, range cooker and small espresso machine, and even 24 hour shops.

Less than five minutes walk to CALEDONIAN ROAD tube on the Piccadilly Line that takes you straight to the very centre of London (8 mins), and goes directly to HEATHROW AIRPORT (55 mins), or to KINGS CROSS ST PANCRAS and the EUROSTAR terminal (4 mins).

We want you to be cosy. The apartment has two small bedrooms (each with double beds) and one of the sofas in the lounge opens out for another double bed.

Bedroom 1: The main bedroom with a nice double bed with a new Silent Night memory foam mattress. Window to front garden. Lots of cupboard space.

Bedroom 2: Snug second room with a standard double bed and very high quality memory foam topped mattress. Converted from a study, the room has no window, so is very quiet and can have a complete blackout. Perfect for light sleepers.

Living room: There are two sofas, one of which opens out for another double bed. This means the flat can technically sleep 6, although it might be a little crowded.

The apartment is converted from a Victorian house (the walls are two feet thick!) and has wooden laminate flooring throughout., except the bathroom which has lovely big tiles. The bedroom is small and the kitchen is pint-sized, but we have fitted a range cooker and hood in there and some lovely cupboards - we've cooked several of our Christmas dinners here over the years! The living room is a fair size. We have central heating, and limitless hot water, fast wifi and a big TV with Netflix and Sky TV on-demand. You'll also have access to a PS3 and Apple TV - for YouTube and to play music from your iPhone/iPad.

Our apartment has its own front door which opens onto a gravel front garden. There is no guest access to the back garden.

The thick walls mean the flat never gets really cold or really hot - but we have radiators throughout and there's extra bedding on hand.

There's a 5-hob gas range cooker in the kitchen, perfect for preparing an evening meal. And you'll have a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer and espresso machine in the kitchen, an iron, hair dryer, clothes airer and of course clean towels for your stay.

Since these photos were taken, we've replaced the desk with a four person dining table and chairs - so you'll be able to have a family meal here, if you're not busy out sampling local restaurants in Islington's vibrant gastro scene or any of the many other places in London, particularly in central.

We welcome couples and families alike - in fact, the flat is perfect for most people.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

We have a shopping centre and three supermarkets (10 min walk) and four smaller convenience stores next to Caledonian Road station (4 min walk). 2 of them are 24 hour, and all serve fresh bread and everything else you should need for your stay.

There's a friendly bar and theatre (Pleasance and Shillibeers - 5 min walk), the Emirates Stadium (15 min walk), a park (5 min walk) and if you're feeling adventurous you can even walk into Camden Town (20 min walk).

CALEDONIAN ROAD

Our place is just 4 mins walk from CALEDONIAN ROAD STATION, on the Piccadilly Line, perfect for the sights and Heathrow airport, and KINGS CROSS ST PANCRAS and the EUROSTAR terminal.

The bustling shops and weekend market are all a short walk away. Pleasance Theatre shows comedy and theatre all year around, and there's plenty of shops and cafes to get fed and watered.

ISLINGTON

We're in the borough of Islington, which is home to the Angel Islington - and the boutique shops of Upper Street. About 1 mile away as the crow flies, it's about a 20 minute walk to Upper Street/ 30 minutes to Angel. Upper Street is home to many bars, theatres, cafes, and shops.

HOLLOWAY

Home to the Nags Head Shopping Centre and market, Holloway has two larger supermarkets - Waitrose and Morrisons, as well as some smaller supermarkets and lots of shops and markets. It's about 10 minutes walk from the flat, and every bus from the bus stop outside goes straight there.

TRAVEL

Caledonian Road is our nearest station (4 min walk) and is on the Piccadilly Line - the best tube line by far! It goes direct to the centre (8 mins), KINGS CROSS ST PANCRAS (4 mins), HEATHROW AIRPORT (55mins), the British Museum (6 mins), the museums in SOUTH KENSINGTON (19 mins), and it's super easy to get to us from all London airports (Stansted, Gatwick, Luton).

You can walk into Islington, Camden, Holloway or Tufnell Park easily.

There's on-street parking which is free in evenings and weekends but metered on weekdays (£2.40 an hour). There is long term parking available locally for £10-£15 per day.

There is a bus stop outside our house served by two 24 hour buses.

We know the city like the back of our hands, so if you need any directions, recommendations or help, just ask!

We fell in love with the charm of this flat - it's steeped in history - has thick Victorian walls and a stunning huge garden for a glass of wine in the evenings. Gardens like this just don't exist in Central London so we're very lucky. The flat is warm and homely and the street is quiet and friendly. It's super close to the tube station and on the Piccadilly Line - the best line for getting across London and seeing the tourist spots.

Super apartment to tour London

We stayed here April 25-May 5. We were a family of 6. Ages 11,9,8,5 and mom and dad(age excluded!). Apartment was super clean. Kitchen was awesome and was able to feed kids one night and save on dining out. Bedrooms were comfy. Neighborhood was quiet. I felt safe walking to the local mart while out during evening hours up till 9. Train was a short walk, all sidewalks. Lastly, Tim was super courteous, helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Flat in London

I stayed in Tim's flat in London for 4 weeks. All was terrific. The location is great. Flat is in a residential neighborhood with all of the necessary conveniences (grocery, pharmacy, department store, pubs, etc) a 10 minute walk away. The Piccadilly underground line is a 5 minute walk and 15 minutes to "downtown" London, the West End and many tourist attractions. The flat is very well stocked with all the kitchen essentials, and lots of TV channels for when you are not out touring.

Flat rooms are small but very adequate. I had a lot of guests over the month and for 2-3 it was great, for 4 - it was "cozy".

Cannot say enough good things about Tim's attention to my every need. He is almost immediate on E-mail even when he is on vacation. He even was able to recommend a dental group when I needed one during my stay.

I highly recommend this flat for your London visiting needs. I will look forward to renting it again.

Cozy and Comfortable

Stayed here for 4 night in March with our 16 year old son and it was exactly as advertised. Very easy access, a 5 minute walk to the Caledonia Road Tube stop, which allowed for great access to everything in London.

One of the best things about this flat is that after a full day out exploring in London, the flat and furniture was very comfortable to relax in and gather yourself up before going out for dinner. 2 bedrooms make it very suitable for traveling with a teenager as they can get their own space.

Perfect location and felt like home

Not sure where to begin but Tim's place was in a perfect location, the Picadilly line is same line to get from Heathrow airport and same line to get to train station if you happen to want to visit Paris as well. Convenient to get to Central London and 24 hr market on way home from Tube makes for a great late night run for snacks. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen had everything including espresso machine. Tim was a gracious host and even had chocolates, milk, fresh bread, jam and a bottle of wine on arrival. So glad I stayed here and hoping to stay here again when I come back to London!!

Great stay! True to description!

Was just like the pictures and description. Very satisfied with our stay and highly recommend! The 4 min. Walk to the tube was easy and felt safe, even at night. There's even a store on the way in case you need anything. Tube was an easy way to get around and quick to all the sights. Uber was also available and always a few min away. The flat was Very clean! It also had everything we needed including extras like hair dryer and extra converters which was extremely helpful. Endless HOT showers!! Wifi good and tv had many channels and even movies. Tim was there to greet us and helped with any info we needed. Would stay again are recommending to friends. Can't wait to go back!

Great location, wonderful host.

Thank you Tim for the wonderful hospitality. The apartment was a perfect location for our first visit to London. It was warm and inviting. Thank you so much for meeting us and showing us around the place. The tube was about 4-5 blocks from the apartment and with the quaint red door easy to find even during late evenings.

It was comfortably furnished and had a home like feel. We definitely recommend staying in this great location.

Only draw back and not any fault of Tim is right now the main and only tube line from the apartment to the city (Picadilly) is under construction and limited service, advise going off-peak hours.

Thank you Tim for the great location and warm welcome. Wish you a great holiday season and we will definitely book this place again in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks Elizabeth! Yes, the Piccadilly line has had some delays in November while they replace train wheels. They expect this to be complete by mid-December, so we expect it to be back up to full capacity soon.

We're on Hillmarton Road (estate agents call the area the 'Hillmarton Conservation Area' because our tree-lined street is protected with a conservation order).

It's quiet, and feels suburban, despite being in Central London.
