This was our second time renting Wildcat Cabin; our first was a few years back. We could not wait to come back, as we had such a wonderful experience the first time. The second time around exceeded my expectation as well! My entire family was excited to come back to the cabin, as we knew what to expect and how comfortable it is. My family of 4 stayed the entire week, and half of our family (husband's parents, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew) came for the first 3 days, while the other half (my parents and my aunt) came for the last 3 days. There was plenty of room for everyone, and all were comfortable in their chosen rooms. The kids loved the bunk beds in the basement and were nice and cool and happy the entire trip.
During this trip, we took full advantage of swimming in the lake and canoeing/kayaking in it as well. We also hiked up Black Mountain, which you can see as one of the peaks in the cabin's photo. It was an amazing hike, challenging but doable for our 6 and 8 year old girls. We could even see the cabin from the summit! The lifeguards at the lake recommended this and other attractions, namely Polly's Pancake Parlor, and we took advantage. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, including the other residents in the area who frequented the beach.
As with our trip last time, Scott was an amazing host. He checked in on us in advance of the trip and on day 1 at the cabin. The cabin was clean and orderly, and it was well-stocked with cleaning supplies and firewood. It had just about everything we could possibly need.
I would highly recommend this cabin rental to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation to NH. I personally cannot wait to rent it again in the coming years!
My husband and I spent a week with our children, ages 18 and 11, at Wildcat Cabin and could not have had a more relaxing experience. First the owner, Scott, is just a pleasure to work with...guiding his guests to local places of interest as well as all of the nearby conveniences. Yet, when you pull up to this mountain gem, you feel completely away from it all in this beautifully maintained property and its gorgeous surroundings.
Wildcat cabin was the perfect place to reunite our family of 12 that live all over the country. The owners have thought of everything and it truly was like being home away from home. It was very peaceful, picturesque views, very relaxing. A perfect place to rejuvenate and reconnect. We hope to return there again someday.
Our weekend getaway was nothing short of amazing. We couldn't have been happier with the aesthetics of the house and how spacious it was. There were 12 of us there, and there was definitely plenty of room for all of us. It is in a secluded area that definitely invites you to unplug and enjoy yourself and your company. Scott, the owner who I kept in contact with, was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice and relaxing getaway with amazing mountain views!
This place exceeds expectation. Clean, Excellent, Convenient, the cabin has everything needed for a wonderful stay. Owner is very professional, and available ready to help with any questions. I've been in Montreal Mont-Tremblant cabin, this place exceeds the Cabin I've been in Montreal. Woud definitely go back and encourage you to see for yourself.
Three generation family had a great time at the Wildcat cabin. We were hoping for more snow, so had to drive over to Bartlett for some cross country skiing. We enjoyed the mountain view and quiet surroundings. Loved the wood stove with glass door so you still have the crackling fire to see. There was plenty of space for everyone and the cabin was very clean. Kitchen was well equipped to create some home cooked meals. I was glad the owner explained the linen policy ahead of time, since that is different from other rentals we have stayed at. The only change I would make is to capitalize on the view and consider investing in a larger window next to the kitchen table.
The perfect fall getaway--enjoy breath-taking foliage from the comfortable back deck. The surrounding region includes numerous hiking trails, lakes, rivers, ponds, waterfalls, streams, and mountains. Close to Kancamagus Highway, golfing, and apple picking. Nearby tourist attractions include Lost River Gorge, Clarke's Trading Post, Loon and Cannon Mountains and Whale's Tale Water Park. Snowmobile trails abound. The Mountain Lakes Recreational Center has lifeguards on duty at the beach and planned activities for both children and adults. Covered bridges, restaurants, and shopping are all nearby.
Other Activities: hiking, canoeing, snowmobiling
