'Palermo Soho is a small area of Palermo Viejo... it is a newly fashionable area for fashion, design, restaurants, bars and street culture. The atmosphere in many cafés and restaurants strives to be alternative, which makes this area of the city especially popular with young, upper-middle class Argentines as well as foreign tourists... The traditional low houses have been adapted into boutiques and bars, creating a bohemian feel'. This is what Wikipedia says.

Megan & Ed purchased this apartment in 2007
Buenos Aires has been called the 'Paris of South America'. Within this beautiful city, we especially like Palermo Soho. After exploring different neighborhoods - San Telmo, Recoleta, etc., Palermo Soho was where we most wanted to purchase an apartment. It has lovely streets, lined with trees; very pretty, architecturally interesting buildings; and a vibrant local scene: terrific restaurants of all kinds, fun boutiques, clubs, parks...Muy simpatico!
We want to ensure a wonderful visit.
1. Each time we visit, we upgrade the apartment. The most recent upgrade is the 'solarium'. You can see in the photos how beautiful it is!
2. WHEN YOU DECIDE TO RENT WITH US, we will send you via email a neighborhood guide, which includes useful contacts including a car service owned by an American (who can pick you up at the airport), and a tango instructor (fluent in 3 languages) !
3. A major benefit of our apartment is RELAXATION! We've created a space that is relaxing, calming, yet with modern conveniences (eg wifi). Ours is the top unit. It has complete privacy, and is quiet. The bedroom opens on to a solarium (sun room),which opens onto the terraza, where you can sit under the jasmine, or sunbathe, or enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of Malbec wine in the evening. Yet we are only a couple blocks away from all that Palermo has to offer.
4. Our manager Pablo is wonderful: fluent in Spanish and English, extremely helpful to our guests.
We very much enjoyed our recent stay in Buenos Aires. This was our first visit to Argentina and we found the property to be just as described. Wonderful, immaculate and very convenient accommodations and great customer service on the part of the owners, Megan and Ed as well as Pablo, Augustin and Danimir. The neighborhood was very convenient to groceries and shopping. We never had to wait more than a minute for a taxi. I would definitely highly recommend this property to anyone who is visiting this lovely city.
We just had a blast staying at Megan and Ed's place in Palermo Soho! First and foremost, they (together with Pablo, who lives in BA) are super helpful and responsive, so you know you are in good hands and will be well taken care of! The apartment is in perfect condition - super bright and spacious. We stayed in the loft and our daughter on the pull out sofa. We made coffee every morning, had reliable wifi and cooled off in the air conditioning. Lots of room for everyone. The building is in Palermo Soho, the best neighborhood in BA!
Super cute shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. We fell in love with Buenos Aires and will absolutely stay here again when we return!
We enjoyed our stay at the apartment very much. The living room is a fantastic space and the roof terrace and winter garden are a real bonus. It was great to stay in 'traditional' (though converted / rebuilt) sausage type building and in such a good location. The local support from Pablo was also good, as was the cleaning etc.
We would definitely recommend the apartment and will consider a return trip soon!
We loved the location, which is in walking distance of interesting neighborhoods, restaurants, and tango halls or milongas. The apartment is airy and roomy, and provided a great respite when needed from the Buenos Aires business and heat. The roof garden is wonderful. We prepared food several times and found the kitchen was adequate. The owners and managers were responsive and helpful, providing support and excellent information about the neighborhood. It's also well-located to use public transportation - about a 15 minute walk from the SUBTE underground, which is certainly the fastest way to get about the city. I would definitely recommend this apartment!
My husband and I stayed here for a week and it worked out really great. The owners and managers were easy to work with, and the local manager was so helpful. He met us at the apartment when we arrived and changed money for us. The location of the apartment is incredibly convenient to all the restaurants, bars and shopping in Palermo but is on a quiet street in a secure building. It was pretty hot the week we were there, so we appreciated the good A/C. It was so great to have WiFi, also. It was a very comfortable place to stay at a very reasonable price.
We had a fantastic 14 nights in this apartment. Let me start by saying how kind, patient and flexible the owners and managers of the place are. We are in the airline industry, travel all over the world and have to be extremely flexible as we fly standy. We booked and could not make the flights we had planned and actually got there almost a week later than planned. They were so nice to us and accommodated us for the days we paid for and then helped us move to another apartment for the days they had already booked for other guests. The owners also provide great information about Buenos Aires in a folder in the apartment as well as numberous guidebooks in their library.
We arrived 6 hours late at 2 am (thanks Aerolineas...) but the apartment manager was waiting for us after getting dropped off by a driver the owners suggested. Check in was perfect.
Apartment photos and descriptions were accurate with the exception that the lower floor is actually much larger than what the photos suggest... a very good thing. The top floor is cozy with the solarium and terrace being a great place to read, do emails and relax with a glass of wine. The kitchen is well equiped but who really cooks when you have Palermo Soho around you....
Nightlife and restaurants start within blocks but it is nice being several blocks away from the all-night bar/restaurant scene.
Transportation couldn't be less expensive or convenient. We had the bus system wired within a day (Omnilineas.com). The metro is a long walk but just take the buses that come every 2 minutes and go! Buy a Sube card at the kiosko, load up 50 pesos and you have a week's worth of travel all over town.
The apartment is secure, large, well appointed and well designed. The only negatives are:
The bathroom is on the bottom floor up front and the bedroom is on the top floor...
The wood stairs are rather steep and slippery... grip tape would help...
I'd like to thank the owners for sharing such a great place and their obvious passion for Buenos Aires!
If you enjoy tango, we are close to various places to enjoy music & dance.
