Perfect place for four

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Copper Ring with my husband, daughter and toddler. So helpful to have a nearly new travel cot and a good high chair as well as a selection of toys. Kitchen well equipped although no freezer which is worth mentioning for ice cream lovers like us! The whole place was clean and fresh and we loved Broughton. The Black Cock Inn was very welcoming and good food. We will be back Im sure. Thank you Amanda for all the good communication too.

Comfy, cute, everything you need.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful place to stay and the neighbors were most helpful. The butcher has great meat and the pubs are wonderful. There is great hiking in the area and amazing scenery all around.

The flat had everything we needed and was clean and cozy and quiet. We could not have asked for more.

Very clean, peaceful and family friendly cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at 8 copper rigg over New year and we had a fantastic time. Amanda was very friendly and helpful by keeping us up to date with the flooding and made sure we had the relevant information before arrival.

The cottage had everything we needed and more - it was like home from home. There was plenty of local information and leaflets for days out. Unfortunately we didn't manage to try the local bakery but managed to have amazing fish and chips from the local pub. My 3 year old daughter enjoyed playing with the toys and the local park. The local people were very welcoming and friendly and my daughter enjoyed saying 'morning' to everyone that past.

We would definitely return and recommend this cottage, it was great value for money. Thank you for a lovely peaceful stay.

Very homely and welcoming

  • 4 of 5

The property was very well equipped and very comfortable. It was very clean, but there was not enough places to eat out in the village. This was not a problem for us as we like to go further afield. It is in an ideal location for visiting coniston and ambleside. Would definitely be returning!!

Just the job . . .

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was ideal for our recent short break. The property was clean and tidy with all the facilities, equipment etc you would need. The location is ideal for getting to many of the Lakes attractions, particularly along the coast; as well as having the bakery and pubs just around the corner. We also especially enjoyed the combined Lakeside Railway and Windermere cruise trip.

Broughton-in-Furness is handily situated to explore the less frequented parts of the Lake District. Coniston Water and Coniston Old Man are but a half hour's drive away with museums and historic houses aplenty. Low level walks can be enjoyed such as around Tarn Hows or one in Broughton itself along a disused railway track. Cycling is also popular with a full set of mountain bike trails in nearby Grizedale Forest. The coast is close by with miles of beaches and dunes to explore, together with owl and wildlife sanctuaries.

In the summer, many villages put on local shows (Broughton's one is at the end of August). Here you will get to see Cumberland wrestling, fell racing, stick making, sheep shearing and many other rural activities and skills.
