Best Waterfront on Lake Lure. Family Fun! Specials Year-Around

Bedrooms 4
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Cottage, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

We BOAST the BEST WATERFRONT on Lake Lure ... Perfect for water lovers and water watchers. Our beautiful, newly constructed, boat house includes a big dock for rocking chairs both in or out of the sun... We have a water level dock that allows you to dangle your feet in the water just to get cooled down.

For a full swim, our wide steps allow you to slowly enter the water.....or you can be adventursome and jump or dive off the end of each of our swim docks or really get out there by jumping off the top of our double slotted boat house.... Quite a thrill... No one has ever touched bottom by jumping off the top of our boat house.

For sun lovers, bring your sunscreen cause our boat house deck is huge and gets full sun all day.... but when you get hot, all you have to do is jump off the top for a quick cool down. We supply ski belts, just to be safe... also blue rubberized floats and a peddle paddle boat for seeing the lake.

For shade lovers, rock comfortably on our shade screened lakefront porch or sit on our outside fully shaded patio with hammock. You can still see all the action on the lake. In fact all of the rooms in our cottage have a beautiful view of Rumbling Bald Mountain and the lake.

So we are nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Appalachian Chain, on the crystal clear, emerald waters of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world (National Geographic 1954), our lake front cottage's perfect location allows for active as well as 'laid back' vacationers during all seasons. With three, 18 hole golf courses in a three mile radius, municipal tennis courts, horseback riding, sight seeing, shopping, water sports, and wonderful restaurants within in a 20 minute drive, our guests can play till they drop.

Swimming, skiing, and floating the lake's currents are wonderful activities May through September, after which you will need a wet-suit and a warm wood fire blazing in our fireplace. Be certain to bring hot chocolate! But most of all ENJOY IT ALL!

Our cottage has 4 bedrooms..on the upper level there is a bedroom with a king and queen bed, and a second bedroom with a double. There is a bath room on the upper level. On the main level there is a bath and a bedroom with a king bed and a single bed. On the lower level is a bunk room (not accessable from main house, has own entrance) queen bed and a bathroom. Perfect for children of all ages.. plus 2 sleeping cots on the lake front porch

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family needed a place to relax and unwind, and we found it here! This house was a great mix of conveniences and comfort, so we felt at home enough to put up our feet and enjoy the views and each other's company. This unpretentious cottage welcomed us with open arms, with its cleanliness and its character. The moumtain and lake views available from every window added to the pleasure of our stay - and we will be back!

We slept in every morning so didn't see the ghost, but if there is one, it must be a friendly spirit because the home was filled with good vibes!

Great View, Great Family house

  • 5 of 5

My family has been coming to Lake Lure for many years. We have found the house we love! This house was great for our entire family. The owner was very responsive and very helpful.

We will be returning next year.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The property was just as the owner presented it. It was clean and provided everything we needed. I want to come back in the summer when I can enjoy all the outside areas.

Rainy Days with a Beautiful View!!!

  • 4 of 5

First of all, I can say it was a pleasure communicating with the owner Jason. He is very accommodating and responds to your questions and concerns almost immediately upon request. The home is nestled on the side of a hill looking out on the beautiful lake. The view is spectacular! One of our favorite things about the home were the many places to gather as a family. You can sit out in the screened in porch and read a book, lay out on the deck, or sit at one of the many outdoor tables. The home itself is dated and could use some updating, but it met our needs. There are plenty of beds and you can easily accommodate a large family. The kitchen is small and there is no place to formally sit for dinner as a family, but there are plenty of places to sit outside and eat and enjoy the view.

I would recommend this home for anyone who is looking for spectacular views and lake access for water activities. My children loved jumping off the roof of the boat house and fishing off the dock. If you are looking for Marriot type accommodations, I would suggest you look elsewhere. For our family, it was perfect (beyond the rained nearly everyday we were there).

The only negative comment I could make was the paddle boat. The first time we tried to use broke...which was a bummer, but I'm sure Jason will get it fixed for future visitors. I look forward to renting this property in the future.

Great week at the Lake! And the Allen cabin was perfect for us! Highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at the Allen cabin recently and enjoyed every minute! The pictures don't do it justice so we arrived with fingers crossed and we were pleasantly surprised. Parking spaces for 2 cars. There were more than enough beds for our family of 5. And they were very comfy. The kitchen was well stocked, and used the grill a lot! Kids made use of the fire pit for marsh mellows. Plenty of seating to eat-outdoors. The hammock was nice. It was obvious that this is a family home and is enjoyed as such. The screen porch was utilized a ton. Was very appreciative of it being a pet friendly rental as well. The boat house-of course is the best part! Huge upper deck with tons of seating. A great high jump. And enjoyed the shaded lower dock as well. The steps into the water is a good addition. A wonderful view of the mountains. We are pretty low key and spent most of our time reading, swimming, and relaxing! The canoe and pedal boat were great-kids (age 15,11,7) all used them. Plenty of life jackets and floats so we really didn't need to bring anything! Great communication by the owners as well-we didn't have any problems but they were very responsive to questions, emails, etc. and our deposit was returned super promptly which was nice! It is not "fancy" or "new" but we liked that about it-feel like a rustic vacay is exactly what we were looking for and it fit the bill perfectly! With 3 kids and a dog it's nice to not worry too much about "messing anything up"! We have vacationed at lake lure before and while most of the docks have wonderful views the view from the house in this one was great too which was a pleasant surprise. Not too many steps. We enjoyed everything about it and would def stay again! Thank you for sharing it with us! If I could think of any negative-we wished for a dishwasher a couple times...obviously not a big complaint, more of a convience. If the feel you're going for is "old time" rustic lake cabin in our opinion this one is perfect!

Great Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

This was one of two houses that I rented for a family reunion on Lake Lure. We had children aged two to eighteen, as well as adults over 75. Everyone had an awesome time. The house was well furnished, with a nice kitchen. The outside accessed spare bedroom had a full sized refrigerator/freezer which was quite convenient for cold beverages while on the upper deck. The outside deck was spacious, with outdoor games for the kids and a great high jump into the lake. They had a nice paddle boat and canoe, as well as floats, life-vests, and paddles. The house was clean and well kept, and the views were gorgeous. I highly recommend this house.
