Moniatis is just below Platres in the Troodos mountains. Our 5 bedroom villa is on the side of the hill going up to Platres, surrounded by pines with its own fruit orchard. Moniatis Villa contains 5 bedrooms, 3 shower rooms, 1 sauna room. Open plan reception rooms/ kitchen. Large terraced and barbecue areas. Covered parking for 4 cars
Drive in through electric gates which when closed enclose all the property as it has fencing all around it. Built on the hillside the house is located on several acres of land which is full of fruit trees. Just walk down and pick your own fruit whenever you feel like it..
Situated just off the main Moniates Platres road coming up from Trimiklini, the property is secluded and very private. You can just shut yourself in and let the world go by in this quiet mountain retreat. The only disturbance will be the sound of the swallows that make their nests under the eaves of the house and the other wildlife that cares to pass by. The owner, Panayiotis occasionally visits to tend his orchard but he will not bother you at all.
Moniatis is just a short drive to Platres and Mount Olympus (the traditionally known home of the Gods) and is located on the southern slope of the Troodos Mountains. Platres provides a refreshing secluded escape from the heat and crowds of the beaches during the summer months. Numerous walking trails run under pine tree canopies next to crystal clear streams. There are hotels and restaurants for the visitors as well as hiking trails and picnic grounds.
Platres also provides skiing in the winter season (from January to March) making the Moniatis villa an ideal winter season holiday choice. After a hard day of skiing Moniatis evens provides your own in house sauna to ease the aching limbs.
We are refugees from the 1974 troubles of Cyprus. We came to Limassol where we met each other and had a family of three boys. In Limassol we built our house near Ladies Mile beach. Our boys have all grown up and have their own families and have blessed us with 4 grandchildren so far.
Christalla Vassiliou purchased this villa in 2002
We always liked this area as it reminded us of our villages.
The forest is very relaxing and walking in nature is something else altogether. The best for forgetting the everyday problems of life.
The numerous waterfalls and the nearby monasteries contribute in a great deal towards this peaceful atmosphere. There are also numerous wineries and Byzantine churches. If you are a cyclist you will be sure to enjoy some good routes.
There are many nature trails in the area to explore.
