About Rosy Ugalde

A Beary Cozy Cottage was purchased as a family cabin to enjoy with friends and family and create memories. My husband and I have two grown children whom have grown enjoying the beauty Maggie Valley offers. Now we are blessed to have two beautiful twin grandbabies (girl and boy) and we can't wait for them to enjoy it too. We hope our cabin brings you happiness and creates great memories too!

Why Rosy Ugalde chose Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area

This property has charm, is quaint, is surrounded by beautiful cabins - not too close - not too far, just right. It is accessible all year long and is located within 45 minutes of five national forests, is in the center of Maggie Valley, feels cozy and makes you want to come back.

What makes this cabin unique

Great porch surrounded by the sounds of birds and a rushing stream that makes you want to cuddle outside with a great hot cup of coffee in the morning and/or a favorite glass of wine in the evening!

Romantic Escape

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying at the Beary Cozy Cottage and it was as delightful as the first. We experienced spectacular Fall scenery as well as fabulous cool weather. The cabin and ambiance were superb and we enjoyed sitting on the deck, sipping wine, watching the sunset, and listening to the water in the nearby creek. The owners are to be commended for maintaining such a clean, neat and well appointed property. It feels just like home. Can't wait to return next year!!

My husband and I just wanted to get away and this was the perfect spot. Very nice home, comfortable beds, nicely decorated. It was very convenient to everywhere you would want or need to go. Easy to find and easy to get to. A very relaxing stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Karren W from TN.

Great property at affordable price

  • 5 of 5

This review is long overdue. We stayed here over the labor day weekend last year. We were 5 adults and 2 small children and it was very comfortable. Its in a good location with stores nearby. The cottage was clean, well maintained and had a good kitchen. It has a very nice deck (although it was too cold for us to hang out there). And lastly, it was really easy to work with the owner!

Awesome Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

The Beary Cozy Cottage is a smartly appointed, reasonably priced and advantageously located property that helped us have a great Thanksgiving holiday. We enjoyed skiing at Cataloochee mountain, horseback riding at the mountaintop ranch and had entirely too much food to eat. Location is easy to find just under 1 mile from the main thoroughfare, clean and quiet. I would recommend this to my friends and to any interested party looking for a hotel alternative in the Maggie Valley area.

A Beary Cozy Cottage lives up to its name. It has everything you need for an enjoyable getaway. It is convenient to Waynesville and Cherokee and is not far off the main road in Maggie Valley. We enjoyed the views and the food in Maggie Valley. There was only one thing wrong. Our stay was too short! As a plus, Rosy is wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this cozy cottage.

Beary Cozy Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The location of the cottage was great, just a little off the main road in Maggie Valley. When we arrived the cottage was clean and well decorated in a bear theme (however, those with small children should quickly move the many breakable figurines to the mantel of the fireplace). The kitchen was well furnished. Overall our stay was enjoyable.

We did have two major issues: The first being that the hot water was not turned on when we arrived and we had to turn it on and then wait until it warmed up. This was not realistic with two young children and having traveled most of the day and wanting to shower after arriving. I also want to note that the property manager was across the street and our arrival was scheduled for that day. It would have been easy to simply turn the hot water on in advance. The second being the long list of requirements and things that must be done by the renter. There were two laminated instruction sheets on the refrigerator. It was very strange and we have never encountered this before when renting on VRBO.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback and glad you enjoyed our home. We will review the hot water issue. The list is a one page bullet note with reminders which all our past guests have found useful when checking out. Glad you stayed with us!
