The cabin is on 2 1/2 very private acres in a great location off of all paved roads between Blowing Rock and Boone. There is new hardwood flooring downstairs and all new carpeting upstairs where the 2 bedrooms are. Our cabin is fully furnished with new Amish wood furniture throughout. All kitchenware is supplied as is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It is a wonderful place to relax on the large deck during warm weather or in front of the natural stone fireplace when it's cold out. We know you will enjoy it as much as we do.
My wife and I are retired seniors who live locally and are always available to help our guests and answer questions about the area.
Please feel free to email or phone us with any questions or concerns.
If you're looking for a private and peaceful place to get away from the stresses of life, this is it. Yet it's within minutes of all the adventures the area has to offer. And it's convenient to shopping and great dining.
Awesome mountain cabin, Unbelievably outstandingly clean. Nice solid cabin and flooring that does not creek when walked across. Very nice fireplace and heater to keep the cabin cozy in the winter. Nice and secluded, very relaxing area where your not surrounded by other renters. Be sure to bring a box of dog treats for "SAMPSON," the very friendly and well trained boxer dog who will stop by several times a day to say hi. Snow chains or 4 wheel drive was suggested by another reviewer. I will second that suggestion as an inch of snow made driving my 2 wheel drive SUV up the neighborhood road exciting. Would suggest GPS if you do not know the area. Can't wait to rent again.
What a great cabin -- tucked away in the mountains; very private, yet a short drive to shops, restaurants, etc. Super-well equipped with everything you need; rustic and charming!
My husband and I and our dog spent a wonderful weekend at this great little mountain home nestled in the woodsy hillside in between Blowing Rock and Boone. The home itself is immaculate, cozy, and tastefully decorated in country cabin chic. We grilled out on the large back deck every evening, surrounded by beautiful woods, and a chorus of singing birds! It is in a neighborhood, yet completely private, with a picturesque lawn area in front, great for those who bring along a four legged family member. We will definitely be back soon!!
We just returned from a wonderful week at Kilarney Cabin. The house is a perfect base camp to enjoy all that the Boone area has to offer. It is quaint and cozy and perfectly appointed. John the owner was a pleasure to work with responding to questions promptly and professionally.
The house has two very good sized bedrooms, perfect for two couples or a family of 4. Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out between the living room and sunny back yard deck.
Boone is a quick, but twisty, drive down the hill. Blowing Rock is just 10 mins down the road. You are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Moses Cone and Julian Price Park. Be sure to hit the Boone Farmer's Market if you are there on Saturday. Give Woodlands in Blowing Rock a try for fantastic BBQ, and be sure to stop into Boone Shine Brewing for a craft beer.
We will definitely be back in the future for another relaxing stay.
Our stay at this cabin was wonderful. The home was so clean, cozy, and well stocked with everything we needed. I didn't sleep in the bed upstairs on the left but the bedroom in the right has such a comfortable bed. The beautiful potted flowers on the deck was an added bonus. Also, the owner, Mr. Warner, was so nice. I hope to go back and stay sometime in the future. Love the decor, too.
This was the first time we ever rented a vacation home. After this, I know it will not be the last. The home seemed like it was very remote the first time we drove up to it, but the trip back to town wasn't nearly as far. Funny how that can be. The cabin was so inviting and homey. We were a group of two couples and a three year old. Even though there is only one full bath, it was no problem. The bath/shower were across the hall from the toilet and there is a half bath downstairs. Being flatlanders, it took a bit of practice for the little one to get comfortable with the stairs, but was a very good learning experience for him. The cabin has close neighbors but feels isolated once you are there. Can't see any other homes from it. Lots of thought went into making sure the renter had all they need for the first night or two. Coffee, hot cocoa, hot tea to get you through the first morning till you had time to run to town to shop. My only suggestion would be to add a chair to the upstairs right bedroom. Overall it was very nice. The owners were quick to respond to my questions. It was a great place to stay.
