The cabin is on 2 1/2 very private acres in a great location off of all paved roads between Blowing Rock and Boone. There is new hardwood flooring downstairs and all new carpeting upstairs where the 2 bedrooms are. Our cabin is fully furnished with new Amish wood furniture throughout. All kitchenware is supplied as is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It is a wonderful place to relax on the large deck during warm weather or in front of the natural stone fireplace when it's cold out. We know you will enjoy it as much as we do.
My wife and I are retired seniors who live locally and are always available to help our guests and answer questions about the area.

If you're looking for a private and peaceful place to get away from the stresses of life, this is it. Yet it's within minutes of all the adventures the area has to offer. And it's convenient to shopping and great dining.
Awesome mountain cabin, Unbelievably outstandingly clean. Nice solid cabin and flooring that does not creek when walked across. Very nice fireplace and heater to keep the cabin cozy in the winter. Nice and secluded, very relaxing area where your not surrounded by other renters. Be sure to bring a box of dog treats for "SAMPSON," the very friendly and well trained boxer dog who will stop by several times a day to say hi. Snow chains or 4 wheel drive was suggested by another reviewer. I will second that suggestion as an inch of snow made driving my 2 wheel drive SUV up the neighborhood road exciting. Would suggest GPS if you do not know the area. Can't wait to rent again.
As this was the first time I ever rented off of VRBO I was a little apprehensive. But, wow, what a great place!
First of all the pride of ownership was evident from the moment we pulled into the driveway. The lot is very secluded and well maintained. The exterior of the house is very inviting and well kept. Plenty of room for my Beast to roam. Kids enjoyed the outdoor space as well.
Once inside I was very happy to see it was immaculately clean. And it was beautiful. This is a well maintained, rustic cabin with plenty of room for a family of four or two adult couples. The living space is well thought out, comfortable and cozy. I would recommend this cabin to anyone at any time (except for the weekend I am going to rent it again. )
You are only minutes away from Boone, Blowing Rock, the Moses Cohn House and the Blue Ridge Parkway's other attractions. I highly recommend a GPS of some sort. For the record, the cabin does have cable and WiFi now.
If you are on the fence about renting this house, I hope this review pushes you into the "yes" column.
My only improvement on an almost perfect getaway cabin is to add a fire pit area to the outside space if the local laws allow for it.
The property was as described and a great place for rest and relaxation. The location was central for all activities. I hope to be back again.
The cabin was cozy and inviting, very clean. Attention to every detail....basic paper supplies, condiments, coffee supplies. The beds were soooo comfortable with lots of pillows and blankets. Also plenty of comfy towels. Fans were in each bedroom, Windows could be easily opened, electronics all worked well and were easy to use. The grill was really nice, had great burgers. But the best part was the fireplace. It was cool enough that we had a fire each night. And could sit in the rocker and just relax. The setting was great, close enough for fun but then tucked in and private enough to be quiet and unwind. Best rental I've ever had!!!!
We had a great time at this lovely and charming cabin. The high altitude (over 3,800 feet on my iPhone altimeter) keeps the summer temps nice and cool. You can't beat the location near so many hiking trails, the Blue Ridge Parkway and excellent restaurants. We hope to be back some day!
