What an amazing place to stay!
We so enjoyed our holiday in this villa. The location is absolutely amazing right next to the beach and the big garden was a fantastic place for the children to run around in. The rooms are all very spacious and fitted out to a high standard. It was hard to leave this lovely spot at the end of our holiday. We can't wait to come back next year!
Our family, and quite a few friends, had a fantastic holiday and would like to thank Lilias for all her help and fantastic advice. Her tips and insider knowledge meant we made the most of not only the amazing villa but also the stunning area on our doorstep.
The villa is exactly as depicted in the photos ~ enjoy it ~ we certainly did and hope to be back again very soon.
The most amazing private villa right on the beach
We booked this villa for one week in July after checking a lot of villas in the area. We booked this one because it is right on the beach and with small children this was perfect as we did not want to drive to the beach every day, also because the beach is sandy which of course is just perfect for children. We were excited about the pictures but, being our first vacation in a villa and not a family holiday club, we were skeptical about them but what a surprise we had !!! Villa Lefka is only 20 minutes drive from the airport which made it even more attractive, the drive is pretty much a straight road all the way along the coast. We were not tired when we arrived and the incredible views from the patio and the amazing garden with the pool were put to good use by all as soon as we arrived. With the garden completely secure it was easy to relax with the children running around at top speed on the lawn. It was the first location we ever been to that looked better than the pictures!!!
The villa itself is amazing with a great living area, very nice bedrooms but the main feature is the garden with the pool and gate leading directly to the sandy beach. Everything was spotless and tidy including the garden. The villa had everything anyone could ever ask for: fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, freezer, barbeque, wood oven, Wi-Fi, sound system with a great selection of Greek and international music, maps and guides, books, magazines etc.
You need a car if you're staying at villa Lefka not to get to the beach but the area is definitely worth exploring with many small archaeological sites and more contemporary sites to visit plus activity centres with white water rafting, horse riding, walking and hiking.
Villa Lefka has become one of our favourites and as I write this we are talking about returning again in 2015.
Thank you to the owners, Antonis and Mariza, for their excellent hospitality!
Superb location,ideal for family vacations!!
We had an unforgettable time at this villa! The property is just in front of a sandy beach ,never crowded and lies among a huge olive oil forest!Best time was the sunset when you could relax beside the swimming pool and have a magnificent sea and orizon view with beautiful colours! The villa was fully equipped, very clean and we loved the decoration!I would definitely recommend it!There were many attractions in the area and we were given all the necessary tips from the management team so as to explore it!They were very helpful and provided 24h response to all our inquiries.
Villa Lefka is situated right on the beach in the Kastrosykia area of the West Coast of Greece approximately 20kms from Preveza Airport.
The villa is perfectly located for a fantastic Greek Summer holiday. The beach is not organised and remains undiscovered even in the height of the season; it is perfect for windsurfing, kite surfing, fishing in the evenings or just swimming and taking in the sun. Close to villa Lefka at a distance of about 2kms there are a number of great little seaside fish tavernas and in the village closeby you can buy everything you need should you prefer to eat at home.
Villa Lefka is a great base for those who are interested in combining sun and sea with Greek culture and there are many places to visit in the surrounding area.
Parga, about 20km away is perfect if you would like to do some watersports or take a boat trip to Paxos. Shopping is also excellent in Parga and there is a fabulous Venetian Castle open throughout the day with lovely little cafes near the entrance where you can stop and enjoy the view over the small town.
Acheron River and Gliki
For a little adventure and fantastic family day out about 45 mins drive from villa Lefka. You can try horse riding in the forest, zip wiring across the river, canyoning, rafting down modest rough waters.
Monument of Zalongo
Approximately 45 mins drive. The Monument of Zalongo commemorates the place where 63 Souli Women and their children leapt to their deaths dancing and singing rather than fall into the hands of the Ottoman forces of Ali Pasha in 1803. The views from this point are unbelievable. A great opportunity for photography.
100kms or so from villa Lefka with a multitude of museums, markets and one of the largest subterranean caves in the world, Ioannina is the closest large city and a great day out for the family.
Dodoni Theatre & Oracle
The archaeological site of Dodoni lies approximately 120km north of Preveza Town and 22Km south-east of Ioannina city. One of the most important and perhaps the oldest in Greece as indicated by finds dating to the Bronze Age (Early Helladic Period).
This site is approximately 15km from villa Lefka. On the 2nd of September 31 B.C. a sea battle between the fleet of Octavian and Anthony with Cleopatra took place, the victor of which was Octavian. In memory of his victory, Octavian founded Nikopolis (Victory City), on the southeast end of Epirus on the site where his army was camped. Nikopolis grew quickly and soon became a pole of attraction in the Ionian mainly because of its port and its excellent geographical position as a junction between Epirus – Aetolia – Acarnania but also between Greece – Italy and because of the re-foundation of the Aktia Games, which were held every five years. Strabo mentions Nikopolis as one of the largest cities in the area. Octavian ensured that majestic public buildings and works of art decorated his city.
In the Museum of Nikopolis, there are a number of findings on display such as statues, sarcophagus, coins etc. Earthquakes, raids, and fires caused the final devastation around 10th-11th century A.D. Nikopolis was one of the cities that the Apostle Paul visited, he also founded its Church.
Approximately 35Km from Preveza Town. Elatria, Vatia, Vouchetion, Kassopi, Pandosia: These are names of ancient cities, which were at the peak in the area of the prefecture of Preveza, whose traces were lost as time went by. All the above cities formed a confederacy, the so-called Tetrapolis. After their destruction by Phillip of Macedonia in 342 B.C., their decay and final disappearance started.
However, the ruins of Kassopi are remarkably well preserved. The city was built before the middle of the 4th century B.C. It is mentioned together with Amvrakia and Pandosia in a list at the Sanctuary of Epidauros.
Lefkas (Lefkada) Island, 35 mins drive, great for a day out. In the main Town there is a quayside road south of the causeway entrance with a busy marina. The High Street runs through the centre of town and is also known as the ‘Pazari’, this is the main street for shopping and cafes. A mid-morning coffee in the square is ideal for a break .
