Excellent location, apartment and support

  • 5 of 5

This was my first visit to Krakow and it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped. The location is ideal to Tour around Krakow. The Main Square is a short and enjoyable walk. The Jewish Quarter is also an easy walk. I ventured to Schindlers Factory and the Jewish Ghetto. It seemed like a long walk on the map but it was pretty easy. I stopped by the Galleria which is a lovely shopping mall on my walk back.

Across the street from the apartment is a 24-hour convenience store across the street, a cozy coffee house and a train and bus stop.

Paulina was extremely helpful and was complete pleasure to deal with. She met me at the airport and walked me threw the entire apartment. She also gave me a number of good tips on where to eat. The ones that I did try were terrific. She was also very helpful in arranging a ride to Auschwitz. She made it very easy returning to the airport on my last day.

I hope to return to Krakow some day and will definitely stay at this apartment.

A Taste of History

  • 4 of 5

This is a very large, very beautiful and well appointed apartment, ideally situated in the heart of old Kraków. It is close to the Planty, Old Town, the State Archives (a rich resource for historical and genealogy research), and the former Jewish district of Kazimierz. Everything we wanted to see was within a 20-minute walk, and most was within 10. There are abundant convenience stores, coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacies and bakeries nearby. Paulina, the apartment manager, is very sweet and helpful, is fluent in English, and responded quickly to all requests.

As previous reviewers have noted, the apartment is beautifully decorated with period furniture that fits well in the vast, high-ceilinged rooms. One bedroom has a king-sized bed; the other (in what might once have been a living/dining room -- the apartments in the building appear to have been reconfigured) has two twin-sized settees. The kitchen and baths are updated and are equipped with everything you need. The main bath has a bathtub with a hand shower. (During our stay the main bath smelled mildewy, and Paulina said she would check into it right away.) If you need maps, guide books, or books about local history, they are provided in the library and study.

There are a few things to know before you decide on this rental. The apartment is a top-floor walk-up (no elevator). Paulina will help you with your bags, and the stairs are shallow, but there are many of them. (This was not a problem for us, and we are 59 and 65 years old, but it might be a hardship for some.) Also, the bedroom windows face onto the beautiful but busy boulevard. The streetcars run all night, and partyers are out on weekend nights. If you close the windows it will be quiet but can be hot (there is no air conditioning and no fans); if you open the windows it will be cool but if you sleep poorly with street noise, your sleep might be disrupted even with ear plugs.

With these cautions in mind, I was very happy with this apartment. It was a very good value and, more importantly for me, felt like a step back in time to the days when my own family lived in this neighborhood. I would gladly stay there again.

Owner's Response: Hello, Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you appreciate its furnishing. It was my idea to recreate the style of 1930s when not only your but also my family lived in the area. If you come back to Cracow w'e will be happy to host you again. Best wishes, Margaret M.Rubel

Great spacious apartment in city centre location close to attractions and amenities

  • 5 of 5

Very pleased to be met on arrival and taken to apartment by Paulina who explained everything, sorted out the wifi and welcomed us to Krakow. We really enjoyed the location on the edge of Kazimierz with good bars and restaurants and only a 10 minute walk to Rynek Glowny. We found internet guide Krakow in your pocket very useful and visited most of the suburbs in the guide in our 10 day stay.

We definitely recommend the apartment and would stay there again.

Thanks Paulina and Malgortza.

Large, victorian-style apartment within walking distance of all the centers of activity.

  • 5 of 5

A lovely, old apartment that took us back in time. It was roomy, comfortable, and well- equipped. We walked to the center of town as well as the Jewish quarter, and took a trolley to Schindler's factory museum. The main reason for our visit was to go to Auschwitz. Our host, Paulina, was very helpful and recommended a trusted taxi driver who drove us to and from the airport as well as to and from Auschwitz. She also took my son, who was sick, to the pharmacy to get medicine. She was always available to help us when we needed it during our visit. I appreciated the library of books and was able to read some while there. The washing machine got my clothes cleaner than they had ever been! There was a trolley that went by our street that added to the ambiance of Old Krakow. We loved staying here especially having so much of the town accessible while experiencing a piece of Old Krakow.

Beautiful Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Malgorzata and Paulina:

Now that we have returned home and recovered from our jet lag, my brother and I want to thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful apartment. It far exceeded our expectations, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. I'm already hoping to return to Krakow within the next couple of years and will definitely contact you again to arrange for another stay (hopefully, for a longer period of time).

Paulina, you were a joy to meet and were so kind and helpful. We very much appreciate all that you did for us. I hope we meet again soon.

Deb and Kelly
