Lovely, centric and more than you'd ever need in the kitchen, pantry and fridge. Quiet too.

Very comfortable and cute. Braulio and is family are pleasant and oh so accommodating. The convenience of nearby grocery stores is terrific. The best ice cream spot in all Madrid is just downstairs and the Rincon de Jaen, a delish bar/restaurant is right across the street. An Irish pub is just around the corner along with several great spots for taoas and character. If you want to get wild and crazy with your hair, you can get highlights for 22e right down stairs. A Humana is just down the block (google them!). Braulio's paintings fill the walls of this comfy flat and some black and white fotos really take you back to mid-century Madrid. The beds are super comfy here. For the value, I don't see how you could do better than this flat. Loved it!

Exactly as described

We enjoyed a very pleasant four night stay at this lovely apartment. The owner, Braulio Romero, was gracious, very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Though small by American standards the apartment is comfortably furnished and immaculately clean. It is located a few blocks from the Las Ventas Bullring and the metro and has numerous restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It is a metro ride away from the touristy areas of Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor and much quieter than the La Latina area in which we had previously stayed.

Excellent value in good location. Clean and modern.

There is a lot to like about this apartment.

It is on a busy street, but the apartment is near the rear of the building and there is no street noise. Easy to catch a cab. Its about a 10-15 minute cab ride to the heart of the city. If you like the metro, it's about a 10 minute walk to two different metro stops.

The apartment is on the second floor, and there is an elevator from the first floor. Because this is Europe, the first floor is not the ground floor, and there is a stairway that you will have to climb to get from the ground floor to the first floor.

The interior of the apartment is reasonably spacious, with a large living room, one larger bedroom, and a smaller bedroom with a single bed. The walls are decorated with the owners original artwork which gives the apartment a cool ambiance. The kitchen is modern and has everything you need. Bathroom has been updated, although I had a couple of small issues: toilet seat doesn't say up (I'm a guy), and in the shower, it's easy to brush against the faucet lever and mess up the shower flow.

To reserve the apartment and set up the key dropoff, I exchanged multiple emails with the owner. His primary language is Spanish, which I do not speak, but he can get by in French. You can also use Google Translate to translate your messages into and out of Spanish. At check out time, I was impressed that he showed up right on time and returned my deposit to me in cash.

Excellent value and most helpful owner

This is a wonderful location on Alcala street, the apartment was recently remodeled and has all the amenities and appliances needed for a comfortable short or long term stay. Braulio is a most accommodating owner, friendly and always focused on providing a memorable stay for guests. A bus stop just across the street with connections to numerous bus lines which take you directly to Gran Via, Sol, Callao, etc. A Metro stop is just a couple blocks away in Manuel Becerra. A wonderful park (Parque Eva Duarte), church (Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Covadonga) and many bars, restaurants and grocery stores make this an exceptional place to stay in the prestigious Barrio de Salamanca. If you're into bullfighting, the historic Plaza de Toros de Ventas is just a 5-7 minute walk from the apartment. You simply cannot beat the price and the friendly service will keep you coming back. I know we will. Highly recommend!!!

Estupendo apartamento en calle Alcalá

Somos una familia que ha pasado 3 días estupendos en el apartamento de la calle Alcalá 176. Su propietario es una persona encantadora que nos orientó y facilitó toda la información que le solicitamos (planos y guias).

La casa está bien situada, cerca de todo tipo de comercios y restaurantes, a la zona comercial de Goya se puede ir andando. Los restaurantes de la plaza Manuel Becerra nos gustaron mucho.

El apartamento está muy limpio y bien equipado, lo recomiendo a todos los que visiten Madrid, nosotros seguro que volvemos.
