Exceptionally Wonderful Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to a VRBO and it has always been SURPRISE LANDING! We stayed a week this time and enjoyed everyday! I really loved loved loved the wharf and just looking out at water!! I love that area!!

Deborah and Frank are outstanding hosts! We enjoyed the Satsuma Mandarin fruit from trees in the yard, and of course wine and Deborah's homemade cheesesticks left out for us!

I would highly recommend SURPRISE LANDING to you!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the generous review. It was great to have you back and catch up. We especially enjoy visitors who appreciate and use our waterfront opportunities. This is particularly true for folks who have had some recent rough patches lately and can enjoy the quiet and solitude of our wharf while experiencing the magical restorative powers of Mobile Bay.

The best kind of surprise

  • 5 of 5

I found Surprise Landing on vrbo for a getaway for my husband and myself. We are in our sixties and had never been to Fairhope, Alabama. The town itself was wonderful, but our greatest pleasure was staying at Surprise Landing. Deborah was away, but Frank was a charming and helpful host, the kind of fella you want for your next door neighbor.

The cottage was immaculate and cleverly laid out; the surroundings were gorgeous (thanks, Frank, for ordering up that weather). A bottle of wine and Deborah's great cheese straws will greet you, and you get to sit out on the Moore's wonderful pier.

We couldn't have designed a better experience, and we look forward to visiting again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your generous review. You seemed to get the most out of your much too short visit. There is so much to see and do in our beautiful area, that we hope you can return soon and, perhaps, stay a little longer. And, yes, I was glad to schedule that great weather, particularly, those beautiful sunsets, just for you.

Lovely Guest Cottage in Fairhope

  • 5 of 5

This past month my husband and I have been celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and we stopped in Fairhope Alabama for a few days on our way back to Georgia from New Orleans. This was our first visit to Fairhope and we loved the town, the people, the restaurants, the shopping, everything--especially our stay at Surprise Landing Guest Cottage. Frank and Deborah were the perfect hosts and the cottage was a special place to kick back and relax. We particularly loved drinks or coffee on the pier and the wonderful bird show in the bay. We highly recommend a stay in this charmingly comfortable cottage that had absolutely everything we could need. We will be back! Joe & Marianne

Great Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent the week visiting the charming town of Fairhope and surrounding areas. The cottage was just

perfect it had everything one needed; including a pier to relax and watch great sunsets. Frank and Deborah seemed truly intent on making our stay a happy and memorable one and they hit the mark.

Most Beautiful Sunsets in Alabama

  • 5 of 5

Deborah and Frank, Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.I truly enjoyed every moment on my retreat at your magnificent property. The sunrises as well as the sunsets are absolutely the most beautiful I have ever witnessed.I loved waking up having my morning cup of coffee on the pier as the sun rose over the beautiful oaks, and listening to the seagulls and pelicans as they started their day .The hammock was wonderful relaxing, and a great place to read a book or just meditate. The view of all the beautiful homes and golden waters that surround the property is breath taking from the dock at sunset. The cottage was clean cozy and relaxing. I'll never forget my time at Surprise Landing.Rebecca

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. We are glad that your retreat was so great. The magical restorative power of time spent on beautiful Mobile Bay has been the stuff of legend for many generations. Although many activities, attractions to explore, and the beach scene crowds are nearby, the quiet and solitude to be found at Surprise Landing Cottage are often just the ticket for our guests.

Our Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was absolutely the most pristine perfect getaway for my husband and I. We were greeted by Deborah and Frank upon our arrival and were given a friendly tour. We spent each evening on the pier and it was so peaceful. I highly recommend Surprise Landing for a getaway or vacation. We will be return visitors.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your beautiful review. We were very happy to see you out on the wharf every day. The wharf is one of the greatest benefits of staying with us, and we are always glad when our guests make good use of it. Also, you mentioned our arrival tour, which reminds to mention that whenever possible, we try to give a little geography and history lesson to make folks a bit more familiar with our beautiful area.
