Apartments for rent holiday on the first floor (with elevator) in an old palace in Via dei Rondinelli 6, in the historic center of Florence, just 200 meters from the Cathedral and 300 meters from the main railway station, Santa Maria Novella, which is also terminal for buses and for all connections to the airports of Pisa and Florence. Just 50 meters from the apartments and we are in Via Tornabuoni, the most elegant street of Florence for shopping. The Cathedral, the Baptistery, Giotto's bell tower, the church of St. Maria Novella, Palazzo della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace are just some of the attractions that can be reached by walking from home to the historic center for a maximum of ten minutes.
we stayed for 4 days and the location was perfect. 5-10 minutes walk max for most sights. we were there during Dec 21 and 26 and it was perfect to be able to walk to the Dumo each evening in 2 minutes and in fact go to the midnight mass at 11 Pm and back at 1:30 AM, feeling completely safe. lots of places to eat within 2 minutes, the central market for fresh food and the supermarket all within 5 -7 minutes walk. the train station was a 7 minute walk with all our luggage, as we left for rome from there. very convenient.
The apartment itself was very clean and well lit with natural light and indoor lights. ( ask them to open wooden shutters when you arrive)
bathrooms have excellent hot water and enclosed showers, though a bit small but not uncomfortable. was warm and elevators worked well for luggage.
Cons: ask for more toilet paper and bath towels as we fell short for a family of 5. ask for it. did not have any basic groceries like salt/pepper/oil etc which we tend to see in most apts we have stayed in. its easy to do and saves each tenant the hassle.
also the downside of being so centrally located was some street noise level, but well worth the convenience of the amazing amazing location.
Two blocks from Duomo, three from train station. Couldn't be more convenient. Only downside is small second bedroom. Bathrooms modern. Management very responsive courteous. Recommend highly
Very nice 2/2 located just 3-4 blocks from the Duomo and within waking distance to all major sites and the train station. They also provided several restaurant recommendations that were fantastic. The ceilings were beautiful and there is plenty of room.
Our group of 5 adult travellers were very comfortable in the 2 bedroom Affresco unit. The balcony bedroom has curtains for privacy from the person who is using the living room sofabed. The second bedroom with it's ensuite bathroom was luxurious. I'm not sure what the compilcation was regarding our booking, but Danila seemed very confused and upset when we arrived. A long heated phone conversation got it sorted out but we were very concerned that we would be out on the street! It was all sorted out and we still have no idea what happened. Supplies were strangely limited - not enough toilet paper, only 1 dishwasher tablet, only 2 clothes washing tablets, no dish cloth/sponge. One of the hair dryers had a North American style plug on i - did a previous guest steal the Italian one?! Despite these small difiiculties, we really enjoyed staying in the apartment and how close it is to the train station, Duomo, Uffizi, Accademia and other sights in the historical centre. We would happily stay here for return visits to Florence and recommend it whole-heartedly to future guests.
Residenza Rondinelli is a very central flat to all of Florence’s amazing sites. We arrived via Santa Maria Novella train station, and it was just a 10 minute walk (with all our luggage and 3 adults, and 3 teenagers). The flat is spacious and beautiful and has a dishwasher, which is helpful when one is cooking a lot at home.
Gianluca is a very responsive host, and was very gracious in accommodating my request to stay another night when I realized I hadn’t booked it for our last night! That was so helpful not to have to schlep all our luggage to a hotel for the just one night.
If you are planning on staying for several nights, cook at home often and do laundry, let Gianluca know, and he may be able to provide extra household supplies (washing machine detergent, dishwasher detergent, and garbage bag liners) then there are normally.
The supplies that were provided were; one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, two dishwasher tablets and a very small amount of hand soap and dish soap. There no washing machine detergent or paper towels (but that was an oversight we found out later).
Danila was the person to meet us at the flat, and it was so helpful that she was on time. She is great at showing you around, and you can text her if anything comes up and she is very responsive (we didn’t have enough towels for our party, and she was there within an hour to give us more).
Check out was very simple, all we did was start the dishwasher, and take the garbage and recycling down and across the street to dispose of. Danila met us promptly at noon and returned our deposit.
Residenza Rondinelli is an ideal location, and we would definitely stay there again (if Gianluca and Danila would have us!).
I just came back from an amazing week end in Florence and this appartment was perfect for it ! The location is perfect, at a walking distance from the S. Maria Novella Train Station and all the city center. The appartment was clean, big, and calm, the host was helpful.. I definitly recommend it
