Fantastic cottage well laid out just wanted to chill out with no issues and that's exactly what we did Thank you for the thought of the gifts at the beginning of the stay, will 100% be coming back. Plenty of room inside and out for the dog to run around the area
This is one of the nicest cottages we have booked for a short stay. Everything you need is there, including a wonderful 'welcome' gift from the host :) I won't spoil the surprise, but it did add that little extra to our stay. The cottage literally has everything, entertainment and cooking needs are well-provided, and we really appreciated all the little features! It's a great place to use as a base to explore Anglesey, and Snowdonia... It's a short drive to Holyhead, or indeed, Porthmadog, whichever way you'd like to go. We enjoyed the garden where we were able to watch the local birdlife, as the owner has feeders, and her two dogs are very friendly. I studied at university in nearby Bangor, and it was wonderful to be so comfortable at night, after exploring my old familiar beaches and other areas :) Thanks so much for a great place to stay!
Family of 2 adults and a teenager, all really enjoyed the visit :)
A lovely spacious cottage, bright and tastefully decorated. Exactly as the pictures and description show it to be. The host's were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely 3 day stay made especially nice as the Sun shone on us. Close to the lovely beach of Benllech and withinn easy reach of many more. Thoroughly enjoyed the break.
The cottage was very clean and well equipped and very spacious. Nice to see basic essentials provided. Located close to secluded coves and almost empty beaches, very relaxing. We had some wonderful walks close by. The owner was warm and friendly and was keen to see if there were any improvements she could make. We hope to be back again soon, we loved it.
The surroundings make for a relaxing stay, the property has all one could need for a comfortable time. A warm reception and help at hand if needed. I enjoyed exploring the many coves and beaches each with facilities and charming restaurants, all making for an enjoyable day out.
There is a lovely view of the sea from the green in front of the cottage. After my short stay i felt very refreshed and rested, I hope to return in the spring for another dose of relaxing. I will be passing on the information about "The Old Shop" to my friends.
Property was very clean, well decorated and lots of room for storage. Everything you needed was provided - a microwave might have been useful if we had been staying longer, but did not miss one. Host was pleasant and helpful and not intrusive. Was told to count it as our home, and it felt like it was. Some reviews mentioned traffic noise - it was fine overnight and only noticed it slightly in the mornings with the windows open - didn't keep us awake! Would definitely stay again. Thank you.
The Old Shop is located in the heart of the attractive village of Marianglas, on the east coast of the Isle of Anglesey.
The sea can be glimpsed in the distance and the local sandy beach of Traeth Bychan is a short 10-15 min walk away.
It's the ideal base from which to enjoy and explore the glorious scenery.
Marianglas is perfectly situated between the small town of Benllech, with its cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops, and the smaller picturesque resort of Moelfre, home to a well-visited RNLI Lifeboat station, which hosts the island's ever popular annual Lifeboat Day in August.
