Large Beautiful Log Home in East Glacier Park
If you want to be in trees and at the northern edge of the village of East Glacier Park, but if you also want to be walking distance from the restaurants, the shops, the Glacier Park Lodge, and the golf course, then this is the home for you.
Located adjacent to the ninth green of the Glacier Park Lodge Golf Course, in the village of East Glacier, this 2300 square foot log home is the perfect retreat for small or large families and groups.
This new log home faces the Rocky Mountains and features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large great room/living room with a fireplace, 27-foot ceilings, and grand picture windows, allowing guests to enjoy the incredible views. There is also a large loft, an open, fully equipped kitchen with bar seating and a dining area, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
Outside there is a large yard, and a deck encircles the front of the house. The deck, with the gas grill and a large picnic table, is perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing and taking in the panoramic views. The large grass front lawn is perfect for volleyball and wiffle ball, croquet, horse shoes, and other summer activities.
The master bedroom has a queen bed. One upstairs bedroom has two double beds. The second upstairs bedroom has one double bed. There are two single beds in the loft. The house comfortably sleeps 10 in beds; however there is plenty of floor space in the loft for sleeping bags.
Located in the town of East Glacier, many restaurants, shops, and the historic Glacier Park Lodge are within walking distance. All of the activities of Glacier National Park are right at your doorstep, including hiking on Glacier’s 1000 miles of trails, sightseeing, fishing, rafting, kayaking, and horseback riding. The entrance to Glacier National Park is only 6 miles away and the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road is only 32 miles away. In the winter, guests can enjoy cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice fishing. Also for those nights indoors by the fireplace, take advantage of the book and video library or the collection of board games. There are two TVs and a DVD player.
And don’t forget the golf. The Glacier Park Lodge Golf Course, the oldest in Montana, is a nine hole gem. As it winds through the aspen and tall fescue, it features magnificent views of Glacier Park to the West, and the Montana grasslands to the East. And the ninth green ends at your front yard, inviting you to come and relax on the deck with a cool beverage, after a great round of golf.
We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely home! Great place for the adults to relax and the kids to play after spending the day in GNP. It is in a great location and the pictures do not do it justice! We would defininetly stay here again. It was perfect for our two families! Terry (the guy who checks you in) will take of any needs that come up including help with blisters. :)
Spent a week here...had no issues from ease of check in to check out..home is nicely furnished and comfortable after long day of hiking in Glacier. We made breakfast several days (other days we had muffins and baked goods for the store and bake shop in town - excellent food) before leaving for the park and also used the grill several times...everything we needed was present. We are all so glad we decided to stay in East Glacier and not West Glacier...it was prefect for our needs...we highly recommend to anyone coming to visit Glacier Natl Park...access was quite easy to all area's and hikes we wanted to complete.
Thanks again for sharing your home...looking forward to visiting again.
I am sure this has to be one of the best private rentals in East Glacier. It is just as others have described. There were 10 of us and we had room enough for all. The manager was quick to address some issues that came up. All were handled expeditiously while we were out seeing the park. The facility was clean and furnished well. It is on the edge of the woods as well as the golf course, so there is lots of privacy and quiet. If you are there in season, right across the road are plenty of serviceberry bushes, from which I gathered a bowl of the berries. If you want quiet, stay in East Glacier rather than West Glacier. The scenery is great and access to the east side of the park is good, especially Two Medicine. . The only problem we encountered was two successive nights of being buzzed by bats. The doors for the house were never left open, so how they got in, we don't know. It wasn't a real problem for us, as I grew up dealing with bats. The first night we dispatched the flyer with a broom. The second night, we were too tired to get up and chase him around. By morning he was nowhere to be seen. The whole thing will be something we smile about later--our encounter with wild animals in Glacier. A great place to stay in East Glacier.
We had a wonderful stay at this home. Location was super. We could watch the golfers, and horseback riders go by. We walked to the local hotspot for breakfast, as well as other meals. We also walked to the lodge, which is pretty incredible. Weather was perfect, beautiful view of the mountains under a blue sky. Going to the Sun road just opened the week before so we saw the beautiful Glacier scenery. The house had everything we needed. Comfortable inside and out. We enjoyed the porch and the spacious yard. Being picked up at the train station was a plus. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I would love to stay here again.
Our group of 6 adults spent a wonderful week in a fantastic house. The house was very clean & had plenty of linens & kitchen necessities. We spent most days hiking & horseback riding & the house was a great & relaxing place to return to. Incredible view from the spacious deck & yard. We enjoyed sitting outside at night around a fire & looking at the beautiful sky. The town of East Glacier has several great restaurants & we loved that everything was within walking distance. I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit Glacier Park. We can’t wait to return!
