About Debbie

The photo was taken in May 2009 on the Cowlitz River. During a difficult time of chemotherapy and radiation, I came to the river to be heal my mind, body and spirit. The sounds of the river, and the rich abundance of wildlife allows my parasympthetic nervous system to relax. It is at Wild Salmon Retreat that I feel most alive and I hope your spirits will be rejuvenated too. As a registered nurse, and soon to be nurse practitioner, I know the importance of needing to take time for ourselves and our health.

Debbie purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Debbie chose Packwood

When you need to unplug this is the place to visit. Cabin features a wood stove, not gas stove. Wood is provided.

What makes this cabin unique

When your needing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and need a place to relax, Wild Salmon Retreat is an excellent choice. Wild Salmon Retreat features a wood burning stove in the living area and the heat will melt your tensions away. My cabin will allow your sympathetic nervous system to relax.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Debbie was a fantastic host, and the cabin was just beautiful. On our way up to the cabin there was a large storm that caused a power outage in the area (totally out of Debbie's control, power was out for a 90 mile radius!), and Debbie messaged us to let us know in case we wanted to cancel, and arranged for the cleaner to start a fire and leave a lantern and candles. We ended up having a lovely evening in the cozy cabin, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thanks so much for everything Debbie, I hope to stay in the cabin again some day!

Great cabin. Loved the fireplace and all the room, comfy couches, all the comforts of home, great location for going to Mt. Rainier. I loved walking down to the Cowlitz River, too. Very peaceful. Didn't want to leave, wish i could live there.

A comfortable romantic cabin in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at this little cabin. It was easy to find, very clean inside, they even had the heat on for us so we could warm up after a cold misty drive to get there. Even though it was only the two of us, it still felt cozy, for as spacious as it was. The fire was easy to get going, we had everything we needed for cooking, and the beds were nice and comfortable. The hot tub was the star of the show. It was perfect post skiing!!! We will definitely come back to this place again.

Fabulous cabin, hot tub and wood stove

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Debbie's Cabin! The cabin was clean, the beds were comfy and the kitchen had all the essentials we needed. We loved the wood stove and hot tub. Not to many cabin's we've stayed at have the wood stove, so this was a real treat. Wish we could have stayed longer! We'll definetly be back!

Cute and rustic

  • 4 of 5

This is a cute, romantic, rustic place in the country. Far away from people. We loved that. The neighborhood was quiet and sweet. There is a community about 5 min away with gas and a small grocery store. We would definitely stay here again.
