Wild Salmon Retreat is the best Packwood cabin in Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall!
The photo was taken in May 2009 on the Cowlitz River. During a difficult time of chemotherapy and radiation, I came to the river to be heal my mind, body and spirit. The sounds of the river, and the rich abundance of wildlife allows my parasympthetic nervous system to relax. It is at Wild Salmon Retreat that I feel most alive and I hope your spirits will be rejuvenated too. As a registered nurse, and soon to be nurse practitioner, I know the importance of needing to take time for ourselves and our health.
Debbie purchased this cabin in 2006
When you need to unplug this is the place to visit. Cabin features a wood stove, not gas stove. Wood is provided.
When your needing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and need a place to relax, Wild Salmon Retreat is an excellent choice. Wild Salmon Retreat features a wood burning stove in the living area and the heat will melt your tensions away. My cabin will allow your sympathetic nervous system to relax.
Debbie was a fantastic host, and the cabin was just beautiful. On our way up to the cabin there was a large storm that caused a power outage in the area (totally out of Debbie's control, power was out for a 90 mile radius!), and Debbie messaged us to let us know in case we wanted to cancel, and arranged for the cleaner to start a fire and leave a lantern and candles. We ended up having a lovely evening in the cozy cabin, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thanks so much for everything Debbie, I hope to stay in the cabin again some day!
"I come to the mountains to breath." This is just what we needed. A place to just get back to basics, the important things. This gem of a cabin is warm, inviting, relaxing and QUIET. Of course the fishing was fabulous, turn right, turn left, the possibilities in this area are endless. Debbie is the bomb! Her love for her cabin shows in every little detail. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you!
Cozy and comfortable. Loved wood stove. Hot tub was nice. Kitchen basic but functional. One bedroom limits privacy.
Cool place to get away from the city for a few days. We spent most of our time at the river only a small walk from the cabin.
we love the cabin just a hour or less to Rainier st. we Helens or north west trek. we loved the cabin .the pro. s lots of room for the family the grand kids loved the loft close to all of the above site to see. well stock kitchen .the hot tub .the con.s the mattress `s .....are well old they need new one I am 6`4 and my wife is 5`10 the bathroom small the toilet is for first grades it is short out side of these to con.s I we be back.
Location was perfect for visiting both Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. Cabin was comfortable, clean and had all the essentials that were needed. Beds were extremely comfortable. Since our stay was short we didn't get to use the hot tub or enjoy the inside/outside fire. Debbie was great to work with and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Packwood and the cabin. The instructions for getting to the cabin need to be updated as they indicated the cabin was 2 miles from a Shell Station that is no longer a Shell Station.
Great place to get away and unplug. Creates a relaxing atmosphere. Home is well cared for and owner was helpful and welcoming. Hot tub was very nice! My stay included myself, my husband and four sons. There was plenty on room for all of us. Property was in a beautiful setting with close proximity to the river. Only criticisms would be that there were not enough wash cloths for all six of us, not being able to use the washer or dryer especially for linens, oven did not work properly and there is no place to store non perishable foods. We enjoyed our stay.
