We stayed at this cozy cottage for a week in July and had a fantastic time. The description and pictures are accurate and the place is very clean and well maintained.
Everything worked as described and is perfectly located to all the amenities (south beach, north beach, strip, restaurants, etc.).
Brian was very helpful and was quick to respond to any enquiries.
I would definitely book again and recommend to friends and family.
This property provided exactly what the two of us were looking for. The location is great. We were able to relax in a quiet setting, and also enjoy the beauty of Grand Bend.
Walk (or bike) to the marina, local dining, shopping, entertainment. In the evening, sunsets are quite spectacular. Sometimes just reading on the beach.
We also enjoyed being entertained at the Playhouse Theater.
The owner is very accommodating and kept us informed throughout the process.
We will definitely return for another relaxing get away.
I recently stayed at the cozy cottage for two weeks in January.
Stated simply, the place was great. It has all the amenities. All you need is clothing, toiletries, and a significant other with whom to share the experience.
There are great restaurants in the area, or if you would rather stay in there is plenty of kitchenware and cooking accessories. Between Paddington's pub, Smokehouse Jack's, New Orleans pizza, and Sobey's, I found no shortage of good food at reasonable prices.
There is a washer and dryer, which I found incredibly useful. The hot water heater is the "on demand" type and very efficient. There is a gas fireplace that fits with the cozy, rural aesthetic, and a very good electric heater to keep you warm on the extra cold nights. Even on the coldest nights I was quite comfortable.
Across the street is an old river bed that is used as a skating pond in winter. It is a beautiful set up. I highly recommend bringing skates with you if you stay here in the off-season.
This is a great option if you are working in the area temporarily in the off-season. You will find the owner Brian to be quite helpful and understanding in coming to an agreement on booking, even if your schedule is tricky like mine was. The off-season pricing is quite affordable too, by any standard. It is cheaper than a hotel, and the privilege of staying here trumps even the nicest 5 star accommodations in my opinion.
Additionally, If you are simply looking to find somewhere quiet and intimate to spend time with a loved one or family, you would be hard pressed to do any better than this location.
The listing for this cottage is quite accurate...the cottage is indeed small, but all you need, and more, for a vacation. The amenities are great.... with a nice, big backyard...loved the indoor fireplace, fire pit in the yard and quiet location. There isn't even a cottage across the street, because there is a picturesque wetland area there, with a little lookout deck for viewing.
But....if you walk just up the road toward town...you are at the marina and a couple of restaurants, within 5 minutes. Walk a bit further (another 5 minutes), and you are right on the main street , in the middle of all the action. Then, after enjoying what the town has to offer, you can walk back and have peace and quiet!. Perfect!
The cottage was clean and the owner went out of his way to answer all questions and reply to any emails. We received our damage deposit back after we returned home, no problem at all.
Down about 4 blocks from this cottage, towards the water, we found the South Beach, which we actually preferred, because it was less crowded than the main and had free parking. (parking at the main beach costs $20 per day!!) You could easily walk to this beach, if you didn't have much gear to bring to the beach, also.
I would definitely have no qualms, at all, recommending this cottage to my friends and relatives!
We stayed at the cozy cottage the first week of September. It was amazing! Location was perfect! I didn't have to drive anywhere, which is exactly what I wanted as I drive for a living! We brought our bikes and found some beautiful, hidden beaches and biking trails, restaurants and stores were all within reach.
The cottage was clean and had all of the amenities of home. It was so peaceful there at night. You could hear the crickets and frogs in the evening. There was plenty to do at the cottage. Horseshoes, fire pit, movies and plenty of room to play sports such as badminton.
Brian was very helpful and always quick to respond to any questions.
I am looking forward to returning again someday!
I spent a wonderful week with my 3 children in Brian's cottage! Very convenient, close to everything, beach, downtown... Huge backyard for kids to play :) Will come back for sure!
