Malasaña Apartment Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroom self catering apartments in Madrid city center

This newly and modern one bedroom rent apartment is part of a newly-constructed building that was completed at the end of 2008 and features all the conveniences of a new property whilst retaining the style and appearance of a more traditional apartment block in this area of Madrid. Situated between the Calle San Bernardo and the famous Plaza de España in the centre of Madrid, this is an excellent choice for those looking for a true city-centre experience. The wide avenues and beautiful deco architecture of the Gran Via are just around the corner, as are all of the international shops, cinemas and theatres you would expect to find in a vibrant European capital. The surrounding area is known for its liberal, diverse and bohemian atmosphere, with the nearby neighborhood of Malasaña boasting funky bars, artistic boutiques and trendy cafes on every corner. Due to its central location, this property has excellent transport connections, including the metro, several bus stops, and a taxi rank (stand) all nearby. Alternatively, many of Madrid's more famous attractions such as the Puerta del Sol or Templo de Debod are within walking distance, so you can explore this exciting and diverse city with ease.

The Gran Via apartment is modern, bright and practical, as an exterior apartment located on the first floor, the large Windows and high ceilings mean that the interior is flooded with light for much of the day, give the apartment an added feeling of space, so hard to find in centrally located properties. The master bedroom, complete the overall comfortable and contemporary style. With parquet flooring featured throughout and excellent storage space, this newly and modern rent apartment is perfect for a couple looking for a centrally located property in Madrid.

Great Location at 200m from Grand Via, but.....

  • 3 of 5

We are a couple from Cannes/France and have stayed in this apt. for 1 week.

As another party said the street is not the prettiest, the market and small shops are

just outside. The agent was there on time providing us all necessary information.

The apt. was clean, surface abt. 50m2. From the location we could easily walk everywhere.....this was great.

Two points by which we have been surprised however:

1.Kitchen could be better fitted, we have missed sissors, bowls for breakfast and

small glasses etc.

2.About 30 TV channels but mostly Spanish,No CNN, BBC, TF1,Euronews etc.. People come to Madrid from around the world so, providing a large choice of channels should be a standard.

In spite of this we had a very pleasant stay in this apt.and could recommend it to

other guests.

Owner's Response: Dear Klaus, we are glad to know that you have enjoyed your holidays in our beautiful apartment, also we want to thanks about your comments and suggestions, it help us to improve the service and the apartment. 1. We will add this items to the kitchen, some of them was broken or lost. 2. We have digital Tv (Tdt) that provide around 50 channels local and international, could be set in different languages, we have not cable service in the apartment, this is one of the reasons we can offer a better price to our clients. We hope to see you soon in Madrid or Cannes. Best regards, Gabriel Avalos

This is a very charming apartment in a great location in Madrid. It was just around the corner from the Gran Via street and was very accessible to the metro stations. It was a clean apartment and I stayed here with my mother, father, and sister for 6 days. Although we enjoyed our stay in Madrid for the most part, we did have a couple complaints.

Firstly, the first night we got there the air conditioner was not working. Needless to say, it is very hot in Madrid in July!! It was so hot none of us could sleep. Fortunately the landlord sent someone to fix it the next day and it worked great the rest of our stay.

Secondly, the washer machine broke. We had done a load or two of laundry and on the fourth night we went to do another load, pushed the start button and all of the buttons just fell backwards into the washing machine. We contacted the landlord and he sent someone the next day to fix the washing machine. He then accused us of breaking it (forcing the buttons until they broke) and said he would charge us for it. This was just absurd because it was clearly a worn washing machine that was ready to break on the next person that used it. He wouldn't reason with us and charged us for half of the cost to fix it. Also, we asked the landlord twice through email if there was a clothes dryer and he responded yes and to our surprise there was no clothes dryer to be found.

Other than the "minor" problems that we had, the apartment is great. Just be aware that there could be some hidden costs in staying at this apartment. I personally would not stay here again.

Owner's Response: Dear Katie, I have a proven reputation over 4 years of professional work on holiday rentals, our reviews are a proof of our concern for our guests. The guest should be aware of the responsibility related to rent a holiday apartment and care must be taken, even if you´ve rented before and have knowledge acquired. In this case, my apartments are carefully checked deeply before and after each reservation, but anyway unexpected issues could happen. The air conditioning has failed on late sunday, was not possible to have a service at this time and i’m really sorry for it, but it was solved the next day early in the morning at 8:30am. The misuse or force an appliance, even unintentionally formed may break it, the guest must be responsibility of the cost as advised in the rental lease. About the clothes dryer, maybe you have confused, the item on the advertisement says “rack outside”, but definitely is not clearly, however we appreciate your comments, we have decided to change to a new washer/dryer machine. The relationship with our guests is always clear and charming, we sorry if you felt different, our purpose is to give you comfort during your holidays.

We decided to rent out this flat for a 5 day stay in madrid. we are a young well-travelled couple from london. we wanted to stay in the malasana area and have friends living nearby. we walk every where so this was perfect, 15 mins from everywhere. The flat is smaller than it looks in the pics but that wasnt really a negative, and otherwise I couldnt fault it. spotlessly clean and new. we were impressed by the investment and thought gone into tastefully furnishing it. was basically like a hotel suite. the kitchen is perfectly adequate for cooking/entertaining although we only used it to prepare breakfast. there is a huge indoor grocery market on the same street which was v useful. also a 24 hour minimarket which was v useful for late nights. there is a big tv but we didnt even turn it on. there is plenty of wardrobe space. bed is a comfy double. the shutters make the room completely blacked out which is great for getting loooads of undisturbed sleep. the windows make the flat soundproof. the balconies are nice but the sun doesnt reach them. was really good having a washing machine. the cycles were quick. also good was the dishwasher. the shower was really nice and powerful but the hot water doesnt last long enough for two showers. anyway we were really glad we stayed there and would stay there again and would recommend to anyone, young or old, who want a minimalist, functional but chic, restful base from which to explore madrid.

Modern apartment in central Madrid

  • 4 of 5

It has been really great to have this flat as a base for some of my time in Spain. The flat has suited my needs perfectly. Nicely decorated. Ample room for a single person or couple. Excellent central location with easy access to Metro lines. And great for just walking around.

The street on which this flat is located in not the prettiest, but that hardly matters. It's just two blocks to the Gran Via where the city is full of life.

I would recommend your flat to anyone who is wanting to spend more than a few days in Madrid.

Modern Delight

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted by this apartment. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. It felt as though the owner put a lot of thought into what would be needed for a renter to be happy. The appliances and little touches were high class. The wifi and work area was great. The apartment was located close to major streets and subways but on a quieter side street so that noise was never an issue.

5 night stay in centre of Madrid

  • 4 of 5

Very comfortable apartment, well equiped and although close to shops etc. very quiet. Fresh meat and veg market open late and only 2 mins walk away, restaurants, mini supermarkets, metro all within 5 minutes walk. Apartment spotlessly clean and arrival arrangements all fine.

Minor disappointment was the lack of any available English TV programmes, not even CNN or BBC World, otherwise all as stated in apartment description on the web site.

The Thyssen gallery well worth a visit and a day trip to Toledo easy to organise and enjoyable.

I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in a very central location.

Gran Vía (literally 'Great Way') is an ornate and upscale shopping street located in central Madrid. It leads from Calle de Alcalá, close to Plaza de Cibeles, to Plaza de España.

The lively street is one of the city's most important shopping areas, with a large number of hotels and large movie theatres; it is also noted for the grand architecture prevalent among many of its buildings. Now, most of the theatres are being replaced by shopping malls.

It is considered a showcase of early 20th century architecture, with patterns ranging from Vienna Secession style, Plateresque, Neo-Mudéjar, Art Deco and others.
