Charming Rustic Cabin Close to Ymca & Rmnp-Wi-Fi

Bedrooms 4
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

The Cliff View Cabin sits on what historians call Holy Hill. Back in the early 1900's all the cabins on the hill were owned by ministers mainly Presbyterian. Even today a lot of the cabins are still owned by the same families, which includes the Hage family, owners of the Cliff View Cabin.

The cabin sits across from the YMCA of the Rockies. It is about two miles from the south entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, a half mile from the East Portal Trail Head which takes you into the National Park. And its around two miles to downtown Estes Park.

If you enjoy the wildlife, the Cliff View Cabin has a big wrap around porch where you can sit, after a day of hiking, to view the elk and deer and the beautiful mountain views.

This cabin is to be enjoyed year round.

Wonderful stay! A few things I would recommend.

  • 4 of 5

First off, the pictures do not to this cabin justice! It is absolutely stunning on the inside and much roomier than it appears through pictures. We really enjoyed our stay and will likely return in the future! You cannot beat the location for the price. We saw lots of wild life and enjoyed being so close to small hiking trails at the YMCA.

Things that I would advise to anyone who comes to stay at The Cliff View House...

#1 Bring your own towels - the towels smelled VERY bad. Likely because they instruct you to start a load of towels upon check out. My guess is that the towels sit wet in the wash for a long time before dried, leaving them smelling funky.

#2 The house is very bright! Which is great, unless you have little ones or if you are trying to sleep in. There are shades which provide privacy. However they do not block any light which makes naps & sleeping in very difficult.

#3 The house is very close to a major road. This did not bother us this because of the convenience. However, some people may find this a problem because you can hear the traffic.

#4 The bedroom that depicts the bunk beds has been changed to two twin beds. For us, this was a nice surprise and we preferred the new beds.

Overall I recommend this cabin to families who want to be close enough to all the activities of Estes Park, without having to deal with the congestion of downtown. Super easy, one level, fully equipped kitchen, awesome patio/furniture, mountain charm, large bathrooms and comfy beds. It was exactly what we needed but probably not a place for those who are looking for a secluded & quiet experience.

We absolutely loved and enjoyed the cabin. It suited all our needs to a T. Having a handicapped person in our group made this home perfect for her. I don't believe there was anything missing in the cabin that we didn't need. Thank you very much.

I visited the Cliffview Cabin for three nights, January 19-21, 2017, with my wife, mother and father, and a co-worker. My co-worker and I were in Colorado for a training trip to Pueblo, and decided to make a vacation out of it!

For starters, Diana is very easy to work with and super nice! There was a last-minute change that had to be made due to the cabin we had originally booked being unavailable due to snow and icy conditions. The process was super easy, and I'm glad the change was made!

We found the cabin to be super comfortable! The bedrooms and other guest areas are very quaint and charming, and give the cabin a "rustic" feel, even with the modern conveniences. The views from the master bedroom and living room are worth the price of rental, with the unobstructed mountain vistas of Rocky Mountain National Park seemingly outside your door. We were not lucky enough to see any of the area's wildlife at the cabin, but the high volume of visible tracks tell me that we just missed them!

Estes Park and the surrounding National Park are musts! We enjoyed our time there, and will definitely be visiting again! Hopefully, when we do make it back out the Cliffview Cabin will be available, because we would so very much stay there again!!!

What a beautiful cabin. It is so much bigger and well-appointed than the pictures show. A beautiful home, with plenty of bedrooms for all of us (6 adults, 2 kids). Kitchen was great to cook in, loved the picture window over the sink and counter. Very cold with blowing snow while we were there, but it was cozy inside. Driveway and parking area had been plowed perfectly. We definitely want to return, wouldn't look anywhere else, frankly. Only issue was the 10 a.m. checkout. We certainly didn't have a calm Sunday morning trying to get all those people out! But we did! 11 would be so much better. Thank you for sharing your home with us! Good time had by all!

Home Away From Home For The Holidays

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing experience at the cabin. Everything was clean and very spacious. The property was close to town so it made it easy for our big group to make it down there and explore, yet also felt secluded and away from it all. The detail of the decor made the space very homey and comfortable for our Christmas stay. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Estes Park.
