We offer a clean, updated, modern-style, bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood just five blocks from the beach. Walk through the greenbelt to the beach or continue the walk along picturesque West Cliff Drive to Natural Bridges State Park or the lighthouse and the surfers. Relax in the morning with a cup of coffee on the front porch, gazing at the lush garden. Read a book, paint a picture, journal, let your mind wander. This is the place to unwind from the busy-ness of life.

Don't forget the sunscreen because the Westside is famous for avoiding the fog, especially in the Fall when the days are warm and the nights cool. Barbecue at the end of a beach day and sleep soundly in the well appointed, modern rooms with the faint sound of seals in the distance. We encourage mature renters who respect the full-time residential neighborhood. Couples will love this quiet get-away. We love the relaxed and easy-going area and imagine you will too.

About Barbara

We love our home and are happy to share its comfort with renters. We've furnished the home to be beautiful and practical for people who want that from their rental experience. Our style is modern with clean lines, fashionable furnishings and comforting colors. We surf, take long walks and bike to the beach, all of which is so easy to do from our home.

Why Barbara chose Santa Cruz

The cul de sac location is great for kids so they can more safely play in the neighborhood. There is a playground a block away and that's a favorite for kids, too. We like the ocean and can hear the distant seals at night from the Boardwalk but are not disturbed by crashing waves. This detached home has great light from all sides of the home with a private garden/patio for wonderful inside/outside living space. The Santa Cruz vibe is infectious!

This beach bungalow was perfect for us. We loved the Westside Santa Cruz neighborhood and the location of the home on a cul de sac. It's a friendly neighborhood centrally located with great shopping, cafes, long ocean walks along West Cliff Drive and surf/people watching. It was a peaceful long weekend and everything we needed was available in your home. We appreciate how well it's kept and the clean modern furnishings. We recommend this home without question and look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful time here

Very comfortable and clean, well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals, extra beach stuff(chairs, umbrella, bike locks) included, safe neighborhood and close to everything. Owners enjoyable to work with. We had a wonderful time. Can't beat the price! The only thing (very very minor) is coffee maker doesn't keep pot of coffee warm but microwave is available.

Perfect weekend! This was the cleanest place I've ever rented. It was cute, cozy, comfortable and the location was convient. Everything we needed was there. I would defiantly stay here again. The entire process of reserving and paying was easy as can be. Thank you!!

Comfortable cottage close to everything

Serene in Santa Cruz is a very comfortable cottage perfect for a small family or couple. My kids loved playing in the courtyard and riding bikes to the beach. I is locate in a quaint, safe neighborhood. t was so close to everything. After nine hours on the boardwalk, it was so nice to come back to the cottage and crash on the sofa with a movie. Barbara made the confirmation process fast and easy and even had our deposit back in 24 hrs. She was very considerate and easy to work with. Thank you Serene!!

Labor Day Week in Santa Cruz

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at this adorable, very clean little house. Everything we needed to feel at home was provided. Beds were very comfortable with top quality bedding. Quiet neighborhood close to Safeway grocery store. Will definitely stay here whenever we visit our son in Santa Cruz.

Santa cruz bungalow - wonderful place

Very light and clean and open and fresh. Great location. The owner was very receptive. We had a few questions about things in the place and she always responded promptly. Very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this place for a peaceful, tranquil, getaway, near the beach and close to some convenience but tucked away nicely. Small but well stocked kitchen. We loved everything about the place.
