Located on Lake Watawga, this recently built home is over 4000 square feet in space, providing a large Great Room with log fireplace (23X24) which opens onto a 60 foot wide deck. The Master Suite with king- size bed is 20X15, with a Master Bath 12X18.
The upper floor has two bedrooms, each with queen-size beds and their own baths, plus a large loft with day bed.
The lower level contains a large game room with pool table, foosball and air hockey, plus a bedroom.
For those cold days returning from the ski slopes, there is a six person sauna. Also, all kitchen counters are granite, with large capacity refrigerator/freezer.
Lake View Estates is a private upscale community. Tennis courts, softball field, basketball court, and hiking trails are just some of the amenities.
Big, open, bright, airy, living spaces. Not "compartmentalized" living areas like many other properties.
Lots of bathrooms which is a huge convenience for rental houses.
Oversized kitchen for stocking lots of groceries and big prep spaces if you plan to cook.
Beautiful views, surrounded by trees so there is good privacy, set back from the main road outdoors are pretty safe for kids.
House is relatively baby-proof. It was safe even for our toddler to roam around (and a high chair is there as a bonus amenity).
Tons and tons of deck space with a view right off the main living area.
Many more pro's, too many to list, overall just a very well maintained, very comfortable, very large house by the lake. It also feel brand new (or newly updated). Not like an old, stodgy rental property.
Met the owners as well and they couldn't be nicer.
No cons on the house itself. I definitely expect a return visit to Gouldsboro.
Just to be fair and balanced in this review, we did not explore the vicinity area, go skiing, require groceries, or need entertainment for kids. We stayed 2 days within the private community so i cant comment on how close anything is or on any parts of Gouldsboro itself. This house was all we needed for a relaxing lake retreat so we basically didnt leave it!
This home was more than what we expected. Beautiful, spacious and modern, very clean and the owners were extremely kind and professional. We will definitely book this home again and we also recommend it for small or large gatherings.
What a wonderful home! We were four couples who loved having our own private bedrooms. The master bedroom is gorgeous and has a wonderful bathroom with a huge walk-in shower and jacuzzi tuband a sauna- grea!. The house is clean and the new tv and blu ray player were great. We enjoyed our relaxing weekend with a wonderful view of the lake. The kitchen is large and has everything you need. We never had to leave the house during our 4 day stay. We definitely plan on returning. The owners are helpful and quick to respond.
Our group of 4 couples really enjoyed our weekend stay. Pictures of the house are very accurate. Each couple enjoyed their own full bath and master suite was very relaxing.
Beautiful view of lake which is a short walk (100ft) from the back door.
Pool table and foosball table created some great competition amongst the couples. Gas grill was on point.
Christine and her husband were very responsive to emails and phone calls. And the security deposit was returned 9 days after our last day.
Just to provide balance in this review, the fridge didn't really keep our drinks cold enough, but we just used the freezer. Entertainment centers could be updated, but we didn't mind since we didn't watch too much tv. Bring CDs if you have them-old school, but we didn't mind, we used our laptops.
Five stars! We will be back.
Our family had a wonderful time on this beautiful and cozy property. Our stay was fantastic and our family reunion was perfect. There was activities for everybody. We enjoy the house, cooking in such a beautiful kitchen and beautiful views thru the windows. Thank you so much Christine for the wonderful hospitality and taking the time to follow up all our questions and requests.
Hugo V & family.
