3 Apartments Stunning Views
About Ursula O'Brien
We spend nearly half the year in Engelberg and the rest at our house in Berkswell in the UK. Having travelled the world and discovered many wonderful places, it was the beauty and tranquility of Engelberg, first visited in 1998, that made us realise we had found somewhere quite exceptional ... so we bought a plot of land up on the sunny side of the village with the best views in Engelberg, and finished building our house in 2002. Since then we enjoy nothing more than sharing Alphaven with our guests, family and friends.
Ursula O'Brien purchased this Apartment in 1998
Why Ursula O'Brien chose Engelberg
When we found the perfect plot of land to build on in Engelberg in 1998 ... we had a very clear vision of what we wanted in our dream property and it has been a true delight to live there ever since.
What makes this Apartment unique
Everyone who visits Alphaven waxes lyrically about the Breathtaking Panoramic Views to be had from every apartment. It has without doubt the finest views from a property in Engelberg and arguably the best Mountain views in Switzerland (you don’t have to take our word for it, please look at our Tripadvisor and Homeaway reviews) All our apartments are contemporary but very warm and comfortable with underfloor heating in all rooms. With high spec technical facilities and equipment along with modern furnishings and an abundance of floor to ceiling windows … it makes for a perfect holiday destination. Engelberg gets 220 days per year of sunshine and Alphaven being south facing gets the sun all day long.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
What a beautiful setting! My family and I just returned from a tour around Italy and took a side trip to Switzerland. The view was unbelievable. So good that my son proposed to his girlfriend while we were there.
Beautiful view and wonderful Swiss home
The place is exactly as described with lovely views. The rooms were clean and spacious, beds super comfortable and sauna a delight. Although it rained during our stay the place was a fabulous way to still enjoy the beauty of the Alps and explore Engelberg. John was really easy to communicate with and gave great suggestions. Keep in mind there are a number of stairs and the climb down to the village (which we loved) along with a lift from the Terrace Hotel making it a little easier was a highlight.
The property was clean and modern and yes has stunning views,
we were in Apartment B, which does not have a Balcony around it so is not suitable for small children
(Also check which one you are in as B doesn't have a Hot Tub)
There was no instructions for the appliances, but luckily have stayed in many similiar places and so worked them out
The mechanism on one of the shutters was broken so couldn't move it
We stayed while there was building work going on next door so we were disrupted by noise and obstruction of the apartment access, we would have appreciated pre warning of this
You do have to be physically fit to go up and down to the village and snow chains for the car may be required if heavy snow,
By ar the most beautiful apartment in Switzerland
I've been to many places in Switzerland for skiing holiday and stayed in several apartments but Alphaven in Engelberg is by far the most beautiful apartment with really breathtaking views over Engelberg and the majestic mountains. In both living room and bedrooms are windows from floor to ceiling. We never closed curtains so waking up overlooking the valley was really awesome. A fully equipped kitchen, big flat screen in living room and bedroom, sauna and garage makes it pleasant and difficult to leave after a wonderful week.
We stayed in Apartment B on the lower floor. Wow what a place!. Amazing views on a south facing slope in Engelberg Switzerland. Highly recommend this as a special place to stay. Also loved the ringing bells from the ancient Monastery below. Truly a magical place. Only 1 hr and 15 mins from the Zurich airport.
Outstanding! Better than the photos!
The location and views are second to none. Coffee on the patio in the morning. Beer on the patio in the evening. Late night look at the moon coming up over the Alps. Alles Gute.!
The accommodations themselves are very nice. Comfortable beds and a nice living area for our stay. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in a Swiss stay. Also Engelberg is a perfectly quaint town with nice restaurants and enough activities locally to keep you busy if you desire.
