About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths

Mont Blanc Chalet perches majestically above the town of Estes Park, Colorado, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. With extraordinary sweeping views of the Estes valley, this luxury log home affords guests the grandiose seclusion of a mountain hideaway, but with the convenience of an in-town location.

Wrapped by pine-trees on one side and cliff-side vista views of the Rocky Mountains on the other, this beautiful and modern log home feels like a remote mountain retreat. Yet guests are less than a mile from all the downtown attractions such as go-cart tracks, putt-putt golf, art galleries, the Estes Park Brewery, and restaurants.

Relax in the outdoor hot tub as you overlook the Rocky Mountains from the elevated deck. The hot tub is open year-round. Nestled on a mountainside, Mont Blanc Chalet lets you enjoy the serenity and seclusion of the Rocky Mountains, yet you are only moments from all the attractions of Estes Park. (Contact owner directly about number of guests allowed)

About Shawn

I am a climber and a back-country skier as well as former Estes resident. There's no place better than this mountain wonderland.

Shawn purchased this house in 2007

Why Shawn chose Rocky Mountain National Park

I have been coming to Estes Park since 1986. It is a great place to gather the whole extended family. And get really scared doing adventure sports that I am now probably too old to do.

What makes this house unique

My property has the most incredible view and an amazing great room for getting the whole family together for special occasions and holidays. I have a hot tub on the deck to enjoy the clear starry nights.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow, not sure if it's the hot tub on the deck or the views that were our favorite. Family loved it. Kids really liked the bunks. There are deer that roam around by the back of the house. Thanks for sharing your home.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 9 spent a long weekend here and had a fabulous time. Pluses: great view, spacious and many bedrooms and bathrooms, very well stocked kitchen and wonderful hot tub. Downside: we had a few maintenance issues, but the local staff and owner were very responsive. Definitely recommend.

This is a great property in a great location! The view is fantastic, Estes is a wonderful town. The pictures are truly reflective of the property. The manager is very timely in communication and easy to work with. I highly recommend!

beautiful property in a beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

great house for a family get together. open floor plan and baby gates provided so the little ones could roam free. The upstairs has 4 double beds built into the loft , perfect for a kids play area. the hot tub has a mind blowing view of the mountains, and is amazing during the day, for sunset, or even better at sunrise. Highly recommended!!

Terrific property with great views

  • 5 of 5

We had a family weekend with 12 people. The house was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub on the deck with the view. The loft worked very well for the grandchildren.

Lots of Room, Great Views

  • 4 of 5

We spent 4 nights and 5 days at the Chalet, and found the space large enough for everyone to enjoy without being crowded. (9 people) However there were a few things which needed improving or updating. 1. The keyless lock on front door, does not completely unlatch if locked from the inside. 2. The oven needs immediate total cleaning. 3. Take storage bowls as there are no medium sized bowls for left-overs. 4. We were provided with only 2 extra rolls of toilette paper for 9 adults (had to buy more). 5. The ground level bathroom has odor of septic tank-only way to reduce this odor was to leave the exhaust fan running continiously (also bought a room deodorizer too little avail), 6. The outdoor Grill was not functioning properly, burner was clogged, and not heating evenly. and 7. The ground floor bedroom, directly across from the stairs, the door would not close without forcing, as the upper hinge screws were loose, (my husband found screwdriver and replaced 1 screw and tightened the rest-then function smoothly). Also a little touch-up paint and recaulking of ground floor bathtub and replacement of moldy shower curtain replaced. If these things were taken care of this would rate 5 stars.

Amazing Views, Spacious Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

Nine members of our family stayed at Mont Blanc Chalet for a week this summer. We will be repeat customers. The mountain views from the great room and the deck are truly worth every penny. But we were also impressed with the layout of the house and the furnishings -- plenty of space for us all to be together and also for individual alone time. The kitchen is top-notch. We spent at least a few hours each day in the national park, which was so convenient from this property (no need to drive through busy downtown Estes Park, though that too is not far away).

The owner and the property manager were very responsive when we had two issues -- the hot tub wasn't working properly when we arrived, and the hot water heater's pilot light went out. Things happen, and both were fixed as quickly as possible (the water heater within 30 minutes of a phone call).

The great room and deck will get warm with the afternoon sun, but a ceiling fan and open windows and sliding doors keep things in check. And the temperature cools off quickly in the evening.

Wonderful place. We recommend it.
