Wineberry Lodge is a two thousand square foot home with open floor plan, 5 bedrooms and 3 bath with large whirlpool tub in master bath. This home has hardwood and tiled floors. The gas fireplace warms you in the winter months. Wineberry is nestled on 50 acres of privately owned land in a secluded, quiet cove adjacent to Pisgah National Forest and Brahma Ridge Event Center. The road to Wineberry is not steep and 4WD is not required. Snow removal and trash removal is handled by the owners. Conveniently located seven miles from I-40 (last 1/4 mi on mountain gravel road) and 11 miles west of downtown Asheville (via I40), but right in the heart of nature. Enjoy a picturesque view of mountains and horse pasture from the sunny front deck. Relax on the private shaded back deck or hammock under the shade trees with a good book.
Also located on the 50 acres is Earthberm House (see VRBO listing #142227) a 3bd/2bath home and Catwalk Cottage (see VRBO listing #143424) with 2br/2bath & sleeping loft. Brahma Ridge Event Center (specializing in weddings, corporate retreats and health and healing workshops..) lies on the other side of the property and offers over 40 acres of private hiking, a pond with a large deck, gazebo and firepit for individual use as well as group events.

Our wedding utilized all three cabins that Brahma Ridge has to offer. They were exactly what we were looking for--close to Asheville but still tucked quietly away from the hustle and bustle and much more homely and relaxing than staying in a generic hotel. With multiple cabins spread across the venue, the capability of having immediate family members stay on site during the wedding festivities was truly a great way to come together as one and we thoroughly recommend Brahma Ridge as the perfect venue for the outdoorsy couple. Holly and Rob do an amazing job at making guests feel right at home.
Wineberry Lodge is a very spacious cabin with a large combined kitchen and living area that everyone congregates in. Also, with a larger bathroom off the front bedroom, it was very convenient for a large number of people getting ready at the same time (bridesmaids/groomsmen). In the morning, you can take a cup of coffee and relax on the front porch, or go for a hike to the main grounds. A very quiet and cozy place off the beaten track.
My family (three kids under 4 which included a newborn, Grandma, wife and I) all stayed at Wineberry Lodge this past December. We were traveling to the Polar Express in Bryson City (about an hour away). As other reviewers mentioned, it was exactly what we needed and what I had hoped for. The house is very spacious and the multiple bedrooms with large kitchen/dining area was essential. It did not take long to get to downtown Asheville. We arrived late at night and didn't have much time to explore but I am looking forward to returning when warmer. The owners were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to anyway with a large family and plan on returning soon!
My whole family stayed at Wineberry Lodge for our wedding weekend and it was exactly what we were looking for! The house is surprisingly spacious with FIVE bedrooms - the front master bedroom and bathroom with a big nice tub were perfect for my grandparents who have mobility issues, the back bedroom with a queen bed and bathroom was perfect for my parents, and then there are three bedrooms on the other side of the house where my brother and sister-in-law and their four kids were very comfortable. Lovely outdoor space - a big porch and a front yard (with a hammock). Plus the living room/dining room area ended up being a space where we all sat and talked as it had enough seating for everybody and we could all be together. Beautiful, serene, peaceful, this house is an oasis in the mountains. Holly and Rob (the owners) are so great - helpful and non-obtrusive, knowledgeable and experienced but laid back. If going for a weekend trip to Asheville, this is not too far away (15-20 minutes to the heart of downtown) and would be absolutely perfect if you're looking for a mountain retreat! Was perfect for our wedding and would be a great house for a (large!) family or group of friends to rent for a fun Western North Carolina vacation!
My Mom, my 2 sisters and I had a wonderful quiet weekend at a very clean and well taken care of house. The yard and flowers were beautiful. All of my questions were answered prior to arriving at the rental. Even though this property was off the beaten road it was still very easy to find. Would recommend this house to friends. We were here to see the Biltmore house which was very close and easy to get to. This was my second stay at the property.
Our group stayed for 4 nights and we had such a wonderful time! The accommodations were wonderful and proved to be a great place for kids. The grounds were beautiful and the owners made sure we were comfortable. I would recommend this space for a large group. The kitchen was excellently stocked and provided excellent space for big meals. We had a wonderful New Years celebration here this year!
A group of five ladies stayed at the Wineberry Lodge for 3 days while we visited the Biltmore. We were very pleased with our accommodations. Everything we needed was in the home and the home was very clean. The location was very quite and beautiful scenery driving to the lodge. We would return again and highly recommend this home.
