Beautiful stone Tuscan hamlet dating back to the 16th century comprising 8 accommodations and nestling deep among the splendid Chianti Classico vineyards. This property still shows the blazon of the astronomer Galileo Galilei who stayed in this hamlet many years and drew inspiration from the beauties of the surrounding landscape.
This property was restored in 2010 preserving its original architectural features and its ancient charm and was turned into 8 charming accommodations. All of the apartments are welcoming and tastefully furnished in a typical Tuscan style with wrought iron beds and nice pieces of furniture. This hamlet is located right in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, a short distance away from the small towns of Panzano and Castellina in Chianti as well as from other charming Chianti villages such as Radda in Chianti, Gaiole, Greve in Chianti.

The villa was spacious, beautifully appointed, and more than adequately equipped. It is in an outstanding location amongst vineyards and olive groves. The views from the villa complex are absolutely breath-taking and the tranquility of it's location is balm to the soul. The pool area is very modern and pristine; indeed the whole complex is immaculately maintained. The nearest town, Castellina in Chianti is only 8 kilometres distance, and has a convenient supermarket, lovely delis, a famous gelateria, and numerous quality restaurants, wine tasting venues and bars - altogether a lovely and historical hill top town.
The logistical arrangements for checking in and out of the villa were seamless and simple, and the directions for initially finding it's location quite simple to follow. Unfortunately, we were not warned that the villa was on a hill at the end of a 1 kilometre "white road!! White roads are basically stone tracks. Had we known, we would have hired a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
In all, we absolutely loved this holiday. From the villa we had easy access to Florence, Pisa, Sienna, and many surrounding picturesque villages. The food, the wine, and the general atmosphere of this region was magic, and I would heartily recommend it and Casalta di Pesa for a truly memorable holiday.
we - a family with 2 young children - had a wonderful time in chianti 8 appartment. We loved the private garden and view. The beds were very good, as was the rest of the - large - house. With our small rental car, the road was a bit of a challenge, but we got used to that. We would definitely stay again at chianti 8. It is the most private (and large, we think), of all the appartments.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful villa. The road was a bit of a challenge since our car was low, but worth the drive up the hill. It is decorated in tasteful Tuscan décor and we were pleasantly surprised how nice the area was. Our view was great with olive trees and the huge vineyard. We enjoyed seeing the workers actually working the land. It was located close to many small towns and wineries. Restaurants were all great and abundant. We hope to return again to this same villa.
We really enjoyed our stay at Chianti 8 -- the property is even nicer than pictured. The location was wonderful - between the small towns of Castellina and Panzano and in the countryside. It was very quiet and private. The furnishings were of high quality, beds comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The location had wonderful character combined with modern conveniences. We loved having cafe in the morning on the terrace overlooking the vineyards. The road to the villa is a little rough, but our rental car didn't have a problem. Make sure to follow the directions closely. There is a nice little osteria/pizzeria within 5 minutes at Santa Maria a Grignano, we had a couple of very flavorful meals there (it's closed on Tues). We are looking forward to returning in the future and staying longer!
