This is a fabulous 2 bedroom plus sunroom, 3 bathroom executive suite. One block to the historic French Quarter, this second floor walk up is the perfect location to call home. Located in an historic building built in 1838, the building is completely gated and only accessed by the other tenants. The extra spacious unit boasts hardwood floors, central A/C and heat, full kitchen and beautiful views of the surrounding city rooftops. Large 700 sq. ft. balcony with 12 ft.double doors off of front bedroom and living room. Marble fireplaces, old brick fireplace in kitchen.

Frenchmen Street is THE place for the best food and live music in the city. One block to the French Quarter, one block to US Mint, 2 blocks to beautiful Washington Park, 4 blocks to Jackson Square, 2 blocks to the river trolley that can take you up St. Charles or Canal Street.(This trolley can also connect you to the convention center which is about 8 blocks away) It is quintessential New Orleans.

About The Owner

I live in Lake Tahoe, NV most of the year and New Orleans part of the year.

My sister lives in Denver and tries to get down as often as she can!

The Owner purchased this condo in 1995

Why The Owner chose Downtown

This building was never intended to be a vacation rental. All other units are occupied full time and are very unique. This unit is our home away from home, and is rented when we cannot be there. What makes this property so special is none of the apartments have been subdivided. The smallest is 1800 sq. ft. and the largest is 3600 sq. ft. Units have been showcased in New Orleans magazine.

What makes this condo unique

Frenchmen Street is so unique, and is specifically for a special tenant. You must love jazz,and love the experience. Honestly, if you want peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. This apartment is in the heart of the music district. We both have children and stay there often, but it is geared for the true music lovers.

Beautiful apartment in the best location!

We had such a blast in this apartment! It was spacious, gorgeous, and in the heart of Frenchmen street. It is right above a bar - so it is loud at night, but our friends who slept in the back sunroom said they barely heard anything. It was easy to check in and out, although it appears the actual street address HomeAway sent me was not correct, thankfully I had already messaged the owner (who was very responsive and great to work with) and she gave me the correct street address, but that's something that should be looked into for future guests.

Ladies vacation, perfect location, beautiful property, couldn't ask for more

A group of ladies spent 10 wonderful days in this absolutely beautiful flat. The balcony is huge but cozy and relaxing. Everything you need is here. You can hear the music from Frenchmen, but that's why we chose this location. A pair of earplugs for the lighter sleepers in your group is the perfect solution, one of our group even used a sound machine app on her iPad and was fine with that adjustment. The decor is lovely, the beds are comfortable. The items we needed were all available in the kitchen (mostly the coffeepot, the fridge, and the microwave for leftovers :))

There's a lot of closet space, an unheard of 3 full baths (wonderful to get 6 people out the door on time). I've been coming to New Orleans almost every year since 1997 and this is BY FAR the greatest place I've stayed.

Best spot for an authentic, music-lover experience

Lots of charm and character and an extremely comfortable and inspiring location. Updated where it matters (2 of the 3 bathrooms and kitchen). But delightfully authentic and historic where it should be (everything else!) The location is ideal if you plan to experience one of the great clubs on Frenchman and is essentially a gallery seat for the Maison. Just sit outside and hear practically every note as it drifts up from their open door. As others have said, bring some earplugs if you sleep lightly - but if you love the music this really doesn't matter.

I will definitely try to stay here again. It makes you feel like you are really a part of the neighborhood but without the sterile, boring, normal hotel crowd around!

Great place close to great music

We had a good time staying here. You are literally feet from live music. The place had plenty of space and beds for everyone. Plus there is plenty of NOLA charm that you can't get at a hotel.

New Orleans charm in a perfect location

This unit was exactly as pictured. Big enough to comfortably house 3 couples with ample seating in the joint living quarters. The large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were adequately stocked with everything, nothing was lacking. The radio in the living room allowed an adapter so you could listen to your music.

The location was perfect. Easy walking distance to the entire French Quarter.

My one warning is you can hear the music from the club below until about 3am, so if your a light sleeper this might not be your place. I however personally stayed in the sunroom and could not hear a thing with the air conditioner on.

The deck was awesome for people watching and morning coffee. Hassle free rental that I would definitely recommend to my friends.

Excellent Visit

The apartment was perfect for us, 6 adults. There are 2 bed rooms with attached bathrooms. Then the sun room was very spacious for 2 adults that sayted there. There is a day bed, a trundle that pulls all the way out and can be put any where. There is also a bathroom with washer and dryer attached to the sun room. The kitchen was nice but we didn't use it much and the balcony was huge. Overall it was just what we were looking for. I'm not sure what year it was built but like everything in the area is it very old. We were there in June and despite the age of the building the AC did a great job keeping us comfortable and the spacious apartment made it easy to share among 6 adults.
