A true Italian experience in this lovely hilltop village

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at this beautiful and large home in the heart of the hilltop village of Corciano. The home was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was full equipped and Anna left milk, biscuits, jam and Corciano honey for us. We cooked at home every night and enjoyed the sunsets from the roof top deck. The COOP supermarket is only a short drive away and we would come back from a day of exploring the nearby medieval villages to our wonderful quiet hilltop home. Yes, the church bells ring every 15 minutes. We got used to it and slept just fine (OK, we used ear plugs) and enjoyed this long standing tradition. Do not hesitate to experience this lovely home, Anna's hospitality and a true glimpse into village life.

A Great Space in Hilltop Town

  • 5 of 5

This out of the way rental is absolutely incredible! It has a rooftop space with views that go on forever and enough room inside to fit an army, or so it seems. There are so many rooms in this place you could sleep in a new bed for every day of the week. Beautifully appointed and owned by folks who truly want you to have a great time while you are in their rental, it will be remembered by our group for a long time.

My only complaints are as follows: 1) the showers were a little weak; 2) the wifi doesn't work if your phone is on "airplane mode;" and 3) you are REALLY close to the church that rings its bells on the quarter hour (but that soon becomes just background noise).

But if you are looking for a small town Italy experience as a rest from the big cities yet near Assisi and other interesting sites, this place is it.

Beautiful house in scenic surroundings with very home like touch

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 from California really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house in Corciano. It is located within the old walls of the city, and is really picturesque and has a beautiful view all around.

The hosts, Anna Lisa and Lorenzo, were also very helpful and welcoming, and very gracious hosts. She provided breakfast food for us because of our late arrival, and the fridge was stocked with milk and even soy milk! The house is very very clean, the kitchen is one of the most well stocked we have experienced, with high quality pots and pans, clean plates and silverware , best of all, a very efficient dishwasher! There was coffee, hot chocolate, an assortment of jams, and a gift of artisan honey just for us.

Every room has beautiful paintings, and a very personal touch. The beds were comfortable, the sheets all felt so clean and fresh, and they felt like bedrooms of a friend who has lovingly left their home for us to use. All of them have windows that open out to let in lots of light and fresh air. One of the rooms has a ceiling fan, and there are floor fans provided as well which really helped because we were there in summer. There is even a room with frescoes on the wall that were painted by the grandfather of the hosts, who was an artist.

The roof top courtyard is breathtaking. We would have our dinners up on the roof while watching the sunset.

This house felt like a real home (as opposed to simply a rental property), and our time spent there will be very fondly remembered. After our trips out to Assisi, and the surrounding areas, we would come back to this house, and it felt like coming home - a very comfortable respite from the heat, and a nice retreat.

If we go back to the Umbria region of Italy again, we would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Place and Wonderful Owner

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this property with my wife and 2 yr old son. The place has plenty of room, filled with sun light.

The owner responded my emails very quickly, and pretty much all questions were answered before our trip began. For me that was a big plus!

As soon as we arrived, the owner, Anna Lisa, welcomed us, and showed us around the house.

She had a nice plate full of welcome sweets for us, it was a very nice surprise for us and that was a perfect snack after a long journey.

The place is very clean and well maintained, and everything you would need is there for you.

There are many shops and restaurants close by, and Perugia and small towns around Lake Trasimeno are just short drive away.

If you are looking for a very comfortable place to stay and relax, this will be a perfect spot for you.

We enjoyed staying at Casa d'Arte very much, and we would love to go back there again in the near future.

Un luogo incantato

  • 5 of 5

Ci torneremo sicuramente!
