Neuvic Bas is a renovated detached stone cottage with private pool and gardens, perched above the Lot valley with stunning views overlooking the river and valley below. To the east, the village of Entraygues-sur-Truyere can be seen, and to the west, the vineyards of Le Fel.

The cottage is situated in a rural location surrounded by chestnut and oak forests, and the nearby village of Entraygues-sur-Truyere is a 10 minute drive away, where bars, restaurants, small supermarkets, galleries, and local markets in the high season, can all be found.

It has accommodation over three floors, with two double bedrooms — one on the lower floor, one on the top floor — and one twin bedroom; it has a fitted kitchen looking out on to the garden; a cosy sitting room with an open fire; a newly-renovated bathroom and newly-renovated walk-in shower room.

The garden offers many different places to relax and enjoy the views, and watch the wildlife, as well as a covered terrace which is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. The pool is private.

What a lovely cottage, we had a fantastic week thank you. Neuvic Bas is so well equipped we wanted for nothing, and the views across the valley are amazing. The area is great and very un-commercialised which is what we were looking for, although the weather was so hot we did do less that we might have done & spent more time lounging around the pool! We loved the new raised seating area & finished every evening up there with a bottle of wine or 2! Special thanks to your pool man, who arrived at 5.30 am, pottered around quietly & was gone before we got up.

Spectacular setting

What a wonderful time we had at Neuvic Bas. It's hard to know where to begin to describe it! Spectacular views dominate and standing up on the balcony gives a genuine bird's eye view of the valley and delightful scenery. We were treated to wonderful and changing light especially at sunset whilst enjoying a barbecue. The house itself is delightful and arranged to perfection with the downstairs bedroom leading directly out onto the terrace and pool area was such treat, making early morning and late night swims very accessible! We love the whole area ... every town and village being so pretty, quiet and unspoilt. Estaing is one of our favourites, and Conques was well worth visit especially the beautiful abbey where we were lucky enough to be able to attend a service. Thanks too to the 'pool man' who came twice a week and kept the pool in immaculate condition. The table tennis was great fun and helped us to work up an appetite for meals at wonderful restaurants. We would most especially recommend Mejanasserre on the road out of Entraygue towards Aguiole. Thank you Wendy for providing us with the perfect place for a family holiday with our adult 'children' .... Memorable!

A stunning hideaway

Neuvic is a beautiful house hidden away in the hills. The views are amazing from the terrace and the house and the peace and tranquillity of the area makes it so relaxing to be there. We had a wonderful stay at Neuvic - it was clean and had all the equipment and furniture you could possibly need and was tastefully decorated with old pine, exposed stonework, lovely bedlinen and furnishings etc. Our 3 boys had no end of entertainment - besides the swimming pool which was the star attraction of course, there was also table tennis, a swing, a trampoline and outdoor and indoor games. Such a special place and really good value for money. Thank you so much Wendy.

Top class, well managed gite with spectacular view

Neuvic Bas is a first class gite in all respects. The grounds are very well managed and everything is really ship shape. There is strong sense of privacy wherever you are in the gite or its grounds. We were perfectly comfortable allowing our Labrador free roam in the garden and beyond as there were no dangerous slopes or drops to worry about. The rooms were all a good size and it was useful having two toilet / shower rooms.

When you arrive the first thing that hits you is the view across the valley that yawns before you from the spacious and solidly built balcony. The Lot runs sideways in the middle of this view about 750ft below Neuvic Bas. No photograph can really do this panarama justice and it’s not one that you tire of easily as the patterns of colour and shade change throughout the day. The views first thing in the morning as the river mists get burnt off by the sun were often truly spectacular. The balcony was also a terrific platform for scanning birdlife. We had some remarkable views of several types of buzzards, falcons, and kites picking off things in the air and on the ground. Splashing around in the pool was also great fun even though the water was only 20 deg C on our first few days. It did warm up significantly when we had a few consecutive days of sun, so I’m sure it would be far warmer still in June and onwards. Overall my family and I had a great time here despite several bouts of inclement weather. The inside of the gite was very well appointed and the master bedroom was particularly well planned, with a very nice en-suite one side and a door directly to the exterior near the pool patio on the other. All the kitchen and bathroom facilities worked very well.

The traffic around the gite is so light that even though we went out virtually every day, we never once met an oncoming vehicle in 2 weeks. Nevertheless I would recommend approaching the gite downwards from the D920 rather than upwards from the D107. Any oncoming cars would be a real challenge in places on the latter, but pretty routine on the former. Overall the roads in the district are very good quality, pose no issue and show off some splendid scenery. There are many Randonees, (hiking trails), that branch off from a point about 400yds from the gite. Many of these give tremendous views, especially the ones that reach about1000ft higher than the gite.

There are plenty of towns nearby well worth a visit. Entraguay Sur Truyere alone has plenty going for it.

great stay!

We had the most wonderful stay here in the middle of the pece and quiet of nature and under the very close eye of some buzzards flying by. The cottage is well equiped and the terrace, sun deck and swimming pool is simply amazing, and so is the view over the Lot valley. The region is maybe not the most touristic one, but still it is a very beautiful region and there is enough to do and see. Also the kayak trip with the kids was really great. The town of Entraygues is only about 10 minutes away and is very convenient. An absolute thing to experience the "marché des producteurs locaux", where you simply pick and choose what you want to eat & drink under a very local atmosphere, superbe ! Wendy is very helpful and responsive and she really helps you get the most out of it.

Lovely cottage and location

We were a party of four and two dogs at the hottest time of this French summer time. The lovely pool and it's pretty lavender lined terrace, with swallowtail butterflies and bees, were an absolute godsend.

The house is attractively furnished with all the equipment you could need, though we spent mainly outdoor time in the fine, hot weather. There's an outdoor space for every time of day and the feeling of hanging in the air, along with the red kites, above the Lot valley is amazing. There are lovely villages to visit especially UNESCO protected Conques and Chateau Vallon, Estaing with its castle is one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. The local town Entraygues sur Truyere is prettily situated at the confluence of the Lot and the Truyere and has all the shops you need and friendly restaurants.

Of particular note is the Don du Fel pottery, where Suzy Atkins displays her works along with others they bring in and there is a changing exhibition of world famous ceramicists. The building and its location are stunning too.
