About owner/property manager

I have been traveling to Wyoming for over 30 years. I found this property with incredible 360 views adjacent to the National Forest. I bought the property and built a southern style home with abundance of windows, french doors, and covered porches to appreciate the views.

owner/property manager purchased this house in 2007

With the porches there is over 6000 square feet under roof.

What makes this house unique

Adjacent and walking distance from National Forest. Two story wrap around covered porches to enjoy the 360 view of 3 mountain ranges. ATV and Hiking trails in National Forest next to House.

Great views and a beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the property. It backs up to the forest so you could go on endless hikes. Large rooms throughout the house with 6 kids that need room to run the place was perfect. Every room was large enough to be very comfortable for the entire family. Close to town if you need something from the grocery store but far enough away to be hidden away from people. I am sure we will be back again.

wyoming cabin vacation

  • 5 of 5

this Wyoming cabin is a very beautiful place. we have stayed here several times and plan to come again. The cabin is on a mountain top all by itself and has access to national forest for hiking ,atv and horseback riding. The cabin has lots of room for large families. The local town of Dubois is very friendly and has just about anything you need. The owner Neal is very friendly and helpful. We always enjoy our stays here. I highly recommend this property and is the best in the area. Will definitely return again. thanks

The entire family agreed, this was the best place we have ever stayed!

  • 5 of 5

From the majestic setting with views that astounded us daily, to the beauty of the home itself, we could not have asked for a better home for our visit to the inspiring Yellowstone/Teton area. We had everything we needed to cook our meals, the beds were very comfortable, and there was room for our whole family. Every day we awoke to Elk and deer around the home, so sometimes leaving to tour the area was hard to do. We all definitely want to return!

Beautiful Property with an Amazing 360 View

  • 3 of 5

The house will wow you the first time you walk in. The sheer size of the house sitting on top of the mountain by itself is truly a unique experience.

But as your stay progresses , you will notice several things:

1. Water pressure is not enough to supply the entire house

2. Hot water constantly fluctuates when multiple bathrooms are in use. There were only 7 people and it wasn't able to keep up with the demand

3. Need newer/better kitchen ware. Non-stick pots and pans and a garbage disposal would've been great

4. Bed sheets in the master's bedroom were not fresh. Had to wash them after the first night. Not sure about the others. Didn't ask

5. Internet did not work the entire time of our stay. Property manager tried to help but the internet company was not available until Monday which was the day we left

Other than those, our stay was fine. Very surreal location. Deer and Elk greeted us daily, fire pit was great, having 2 BBQ charcoal grills was helpful (gas grill would've been perfect, ice makers definitely a plus. Huge rooms with dedicated bathrooms and a laundry room were great! Wrap around deck on both levels was nice

Good to know:

- The property is about 50 miles to the Moran Park entrance so expect quite a bit of driving to and from

- AWD or 4x4 vehicles a must

My star rating would be more like 3.5 if it was available. I would still recommend staying at this house as long as you manage your expectations

Owner's Response: I am glad you stayed at our house. Hughsnet Internet service has always been less than ideal but that is all that is offered on top of the mountain. We replace cookware twice a year at the house due to the abuse it gets from renters and have now stayed away from telfon coated cookware since they are scratched badly after a few rentals. We now use stainless pots and pans. We never had an issue with water pressure so we will have to check into it. The hot water tank is a commercial size 100 gallon tank. The commercial elements reheat the 100 gallons in minutes. If you fill one or two of the 3 whirlpool tubs with hot water while somone is showering, there can be a small time delay to get more hot water. 4wd or AWD is only needed up to May 21st due to possible snow and ice. That is stated in our description and was in our email as well. After May 21, we have people all the time stay in vans, economy cars, etc. A 4wd is NOT a must after May 21st. I hope you do return and we do give all returning customers 20% off. Thanks Neal

We spent 9 nights at this beautiful house in late July and early August 2013. There were nine of us ( 3 generations). A breathtaking place. Every room has a beautiful view. The laundry and 2 ice makers were a big help. An excellent base for trips to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We made ATV trips on the adjacent Shoshone National Forest Trails that depart from the property. Big hits at the house were; views, grilling out on the 2 BBQ grills, sitting on the porch, playing games, and making SMORES.

The people of Dubois were very nice, friendly and it was less commercial than other places. Dubois has everything you need for your vacation and is only 10 minutes from the house. Cowboy Cafe has great food. We enjoyed the Friday night Rodeo, the National Day of the Cowboy, the National Bighorn Sheep Center and the Dubois Museum.

The house is well equipped and we lacked nothing. Owner is easy to work with. We highly recommend this house.
