The panoramic view on the hills of Monte San Savino. Il Poggiolo is a beautiful villa in a lovely position just outside Monte San Savino, one of the most visited towns in the Valdichiana, founded perhaps during the Roman Empire but certainly an important castle in Medieval times. Its walls protect many important Medieval and Renaissance buildings.

In the garden with cypress trees and pines there are a beautiful swimming pool (size 5x10 m- depth 0,80 - 2,00 m.) and a tennis court (free use), 2 bicycles and playground for children, all for the exclusive and private use of the guests. In the front of the villa is a stone porch equipped with table and chairs to eat outside.

Perfect holiday, very nice owner
We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at Il Poggiolo. The house is exactly as shown on the photos, the furniture basic but OK, the beds excellent. What surprised us were the grounds, the olive trees, the wonderful view in all directions and the situation at no more than 5 minutes walking from the lovely old village. The pool was cleaned daily and we made good use of the tennis court. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Only minor point: the house has no airco. As we were there we had a heatwave with +35 C every day, so especially at night a fan in the bedroom would have been nice. All in all we had a delightful week at Il Poggiolo and I would certainly recommend it.
