Thank you very much for providing us with a lovely place to stay in Paris!
Jean is a brilliant host, he responded immediately to my messages, and provided clear concise instructions to access the apartment.
We were 4 friends staying here and it was the perfect size, the apartment is small but for 4 girls we didn't find it too tight. (I was confused from the pictures on the website which were the apartment - it is the first 8 photos).
Rue moret is just off Rue Oberkampf which is a street with many fun bars and restaurants.
We spent an evening in La Quille which is a very fun mini bowling and pool bar - I recommend visiting.
The apartment is about a 25 minute walk from the pompidou, Le Marais area, or a 15 minute cycle with the velibs which were fun mode of transport. Metro is also very easy as well.
There is a city carrefour supermarket a 5 minute walk from the apartment, and a patisserie with delicious croissants at the end of the road.
In the apartment there were a few tea bags and salt and pepper which was very useful as I find having to buy all the basics makes cooking at home not worthwhile. The kitchen is also fully equipped with everything you would need to cook a meal.
We were only provided with 1 roll of loo roll, however a pack in the supermarket is cheap, no bother to buy one.
This apartment was lovely and clean, safe and secure and after midnight completely quiet.
I highly recommend this apartment to a family or a group who enjoy drinking and nights out.
Great part of town, unique flat
Positives: It's a fun and interesting neighborhood. Lots of good restaurants and cafes. Not touristy but close to several metro lines that can get you to those places. It's in a unique building. Jean was generally prompt with response to questions or directions.
Not as positive: Smaller than we thought. A good fit for 2-3, but not 4. One of the bedrooms is more of a loft and has not door, just a curtain, so not fully private. Could use a thorough cleaning and owner should leave soap and more than one roll of toilet paper
Bottom line, would we stay again? Not with 4 people, but maybe 2 -3.
Great location, ready to walk around, get the metro, full of life nearby.
Merci pour ton appréciation Eric et bon retour au Brésil.
Quirky and Delightful Apartment in Lively section of Paris
This apartment was so interesting! It is unlike any place I've ever been. It was almost like something in a storybook, the footbridge entrance over the internal courtyard was our favorite part. We stayed at this apartment for a week while our family of 4 toured Paris (2 adults and 2 teens). Public trans is very easy from this spot with lots of options. There are many excellent food choices nearby (MUST try L'Assassin for a truly excellent but affordable experience) as well as groceries and places to have a drink while listening to live music. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have picked it again.
I do feel like I need to say a couple of things as a disclaimer: There are many narrow stairs both to get into the apartment and once in the apartment. The apartment is also in a very lively section of town. Music was often playing well into the night and smoke comes into the bedrooms from the courtyard. This did not bother our family, but if someone is looking for a secluded location, this might not meet their needs.
Thank You Jean for sharing your home!
We loved our stay here! Jean is really awesome! He was easy to reach and helped us with our bags upon arrival. He gave us a tutorial if the apartment and surroundings. This apartment is in a great location near omberkamp street if you want a good night life but far away from it enough to where it is quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place. Hope to return soon!!
