About Cathy Albright
I am recently retired from UPS and wanted a vacation property to share with family and friends that would also let me be a winter snowbird. We named our property Santee Shores as we lived in Santee, CA for six years while my husband was serving in the US Navy submarine service stationed at Ballast Point, San Diego, CA.
Cathy Albright purchased this Condo in 2018
Why Cathy Albright chose Dauphin Island
I visited Gulf Shores 10 years ago and took the ferry to Dauphin Island. I fell in love with the small town atmosphere as I am from a small town in Indiana. When the opportunity recently came to purchase a beach property, Dauphin Island was my first choice. I never tire of the view from our balcony.

My family and I have rented multiple units in this building for over 10 years. It is our spot! In general, there a good culture in this building with regards to rentals, upkeep, and atmosphere. We have always been happy coming here.
This unit was one of the better that we have experienced: nice furnishings, recent flooring upgrades, great bedding options that kept all the kids happy, well-equipped. Coordination with the owner and getting into/out of the unit was a breeze.
No trap doors here, just sunny beach days ahead!
So happy you enjoyed your Dauphin Island vacation. Visit us again soon! Cathy
Our vacation on Dauphin Island
The condo we stayed at was absolutely beautiful! It was very well maintained (no issues with anything) and very well stocked (kitchen, towels, utensils, etc). The patio/balcony is awesome.
The property/building was also very clean - we could smell the freshness every morning when we went downstairs. The elevators worked every time with just a short wait. We only swam in the pool once - it was clean and well maintained. The carts available to unload your car were priceless.
We had a great week and would rent this same condo again.
The condo was beautiful and the patio is awesome! Cathy was great and they supply some extras like beach toys and chairs that most owners do not. The beach is quite a walk - farther than most other beaches we have stayed on but that's just the way everything was built on the Island from what we could tell.
However, the beach was great and not crowded at all which was nice. The only other suggestion is if you want to do anything other than the beach plan early. We wanted to take the kids on a dolphin cruise but the ones on the island were booked so we booked one in Orange Beach - then couldn't get on the ferry so we missed it. Other than that we all had a great time and would definitely recommend it
Thanks Laurie for mentioning the "extras". I try to provide everything I can that I would like to have myself if I were vacationing if possible and not wanting to pack so many items such as the beach towels and chairs, etc. As you noticed the beach in front of our complex is actually building (unlike the west end of the island) and that does add a bit to the walk but for hurricane weather, that makes me very happy! Come see us again. Cathy
Very clean, comfortable and nice condo. I would book this condo again if we go back to Dauphin Island.
Great big space!
Very communicative, attentive and responsive for their stellar property!
Dauphin Island has a small town atmosphere and is the best kept secret on the Gulf Coast. There are no traffic lights, just miles of bike paths, walking trails and white sandy beaches. It is easily accessible from interstates 10 & 65 with a beautiful drive via the causeway and bridge. The island is on a major bird migratory path and is wonderful for bird watchers, animal lovers and outdoor nature enthusiasts with biking, boating, fishing, and golfing.
For history buffs, visit historic Fort Gaines on the island or take the Mobile Bay car ferry to Fort Morgan near Gulf Shores, both strategic locations during the civil war.
Visit Dauphin Island Estuarium and Sea Lab a showcase of the natural resources found in Mobile Bay Estuary, the 4th largest estuary system in the US. The kids will enjoy the many hands on exhibits such as the sting ray touch pool.
Swamp and alligator tours are available nearby. An hour away, Gulf Shores, abounds with shopping and adventure opportunities and Biloxi, MS offers casino gambling and live entertainment.
