You have just found your own personal, tropical hideaway …literally just steps away from the crystal blue Pacific Ocean!

This spectacular, ocean-front designer 1BR unit in the Kona Reef Resort was completely remodeled in 2007, and extensively refreshed in 2011 with new paint, new carpet, new appliances and furniture.

A look at the video tour will tell it all. The link to the video tour is located below the map and above the photos where 'Link to our other rentals' and 'Link to 360 video tour' appears. A picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth a thousand pictures!

This is lavish tropical living at its best, with a king-size bed (and premium mattress), slate floors, granite countertops, gourmet kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, central air conditioning, Travertine bath with a raised vessel sink, and tropical touches throughout.

The convenient, ground floor location means you have paradise at your feet: Merely stroll 20 yards out from the lanai (patio) and you’re standing in the ocean, with a picturesque white sand beach cove just a few more feet down to your left. Or go 30 feet out the front door to the pool. No winding staircases or out-of-the-way elevators.

As you would expect in a condo this luxurious, it is fully equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay: A fully equipped kitchen, with a full array of utensils, including BBQ accessories. A washer and dryer right in the unit makes sure you feel right at home. We expect you to return often, as most of our guests do. The Kona Reef is the most convenient location in Kona, and this is the ultimate unit at the Kona Reef.

So sit back and enjoy spectacular sunsets as daredevil surfers and playful dolphins dodge sea turtles right in front of you,... as all of you keep a keen lookout for humpback whales when they are in town.

And then ask yourself: after traveling thousands of miles to get here, was it worth a few extra dollars per night to spend your time in a place just as beautiful as the paradise that surrounds it? Of course it was, but we are actually priced lower than many other units, which shows that sometimes the best actually costs less.

This unit is tastefully decorated in the Hawaiian theme, Clean, right next to the ocean. We really appreciate all the amenities.....washer, dryer. Loved the CD collection, and the collection of Hawaiian magazines. comfy bed. BLENDER :)

Thanks for another wonderful stay. We'll be back next year!

Awesome location, very clean unit.

You can't go wrong with this unit, no surprises. We would stay here again. Walking distance to everything! The ocean is closer than we thought, maybe 20 steps! Everything worked perfectly in this unit. We are recommending this place to everyone we know.

peaceful, nicely appointed and perfect location

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in March 2017. Nicely furnished with all the basics. Bed was comfortable, we spent most days on the patio enjoying the waves, scenery, and even the resident turtle. Only drawback was no coffee grinder in the kitchen. We also had to buy coffee filters and napkins. Most places we rent have cloth napkins and a coffee grinder plus a filter already in place. The linens and towels were great. Highly recommend Kona Reef, A-5. We like the short walk over to Huggos for dinner, and we caught a listen to the luau at Royal Marriott.

Great home base for the adventure of a lifetime.

The Big Island has so much to offer, and this location proved to be a very central location for all of our day trips. We enjoyed eating meals on the lanai while watching surfers and sunsets. (Just be sure you turn off the AC while you sit out there, because it is quite loud.) We loved having the washer/dryer, the covered parking, the large beach towels, and the AC. The shower was a bit of a challenge as the design allows water to cover the floor in front of the toilet, but the office gave us extra towels to soak it up. One suggestion would be to put a mirror in the bedroom, as the only one is over the bathroom sink. I wouldn't suggest trying to put four adults here, as there is not enough storage room, but it would be perfect for two, maybe three.

Great view

Had a great time here, loved the water view. Close to shops restaurants and the swimming. pool..Well equipped rental. Older complex, but well maintained, air conditioner is a little noisy, but overall it is worth it to be right by the water to listen to the surf and watch the sunset. Office staff very helpful for check-in and for any extra things you might need.

Location, location, location!

When I unlocked and opened the front door, my jaw dropped as I looked through the living room and kitchen area out the glass sliders at a peace sunset over the water. I immediately opened the slider and slipped into one of the comfy chairs on the patio. The pristine water was just steps away from where I sat. We began every day enjoying our morning coffee and the view. We ended each day by either enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine or sitting there later in the evening feeling the calming sea breeze and pounding surf -- and of course the glass of wine. Downtown Kailua-Kona is about 4 blocks up the road with exceptional dining and shopping. World class snorkeling is a short drive to the south. The unit is stocked with cooking and dining utensils, even a blender for homemade Piña Coladas. We visit the Islands annually and will definitely return here in the future.
