Thank you for allowing us to rent your home. We had a wonderful time. Your home was well organized and clean. It was easy to locate items in the kitchen, the linen closet etc.

Wonderful home in a tucked away private forest
You feel like nobody else exists here. Spacious inside and out, warm decor, not sterile like many properties.Owner very easy to deal with, and communicate with. My event went off without a hitch.
No cooking gas, no hot tub access, multiple interruptions by host
We had a company off-site at this home, but by the time we left we had been able to use only a tiny subset of the amenities, had multiple confrontations with our host over access to amenities, and were frequently interrupted with visits from our hosts. The house was in poor condition, with lights, audio system, kitchen, grill, and hot tub areas all in disrepair.
In particular, we were unable to use the hot tub (it never heated, and it had a leak, as pointed out by the hosts, who were on premises and not ready for us when we arrived). The kitchen and grill areas were filthy, including all pots and pans. There were _dirty_ dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived. Outside lights did not function. Water pressure upstairs was abysmal for showers. The house was clearly "lived in," with clothes and personal belongings strewn everywhere. We were frankly afraid we would break things given how prevalent other people's stuff was in the home.
Here's the fun part: There was no cooking gas for the grill or the stove inside, forcing us to find other arrangements with the host for breakfast and dinner, and keeping us from using the grill, which we had explicitly asked to use in prior communications. Resolutions by the host were absurd (take our food to their restaurant and cook it, return it?) and frankly executed with little care for our needs or peace of mind. We were argued with and presented with counter-arguments to our preferred resolutions, and ultimately talked into their way of doing things despite our discomfort. We were forced to deal with multiple interruptions by the gas company, our hosts (they had to...come pick up a cat?), and were told that our hosts would be coming back at 3:30 when we had arranged a late checkout of 4PM (which we paid extra for, off-platform, which was extremely sketchy).
This was a complete disaster, entirely preventable had our hosts been more responsible with their home. Luckily, we are a hardy bunch. 1/10 would not recommend.
special request by a small company was accommodated – 1 night, starting early,ending late, mid-week, off-season.
Two things went wrong: hot tub (1 of 5 amenities) repair completing upon their arrival. The hot tub was usable (it was hot, we asked they not use the jets because of a leak) and we know this because when we arrived the following day it was at 102 degrees.
The cooking propane ran low- Inconvenient but my response was excellent. Automatic refill was 3 weeks away but at 6:45pm, the guest called to say cooking was a problem. They completed making dinner, albeit slowly. The servicer arrived at 8pm to find the problem and fill the tank. unfortunately, he believed there was a leak, so turned off gas. After speaking to guest at 10pm, I dealt with the problem bringing scrambled eggs for bfast (the only part requiring fuel). I offered to take 2 hot lunch items off site to prepare, returning at 1pm. At 11am the propane company resolved the problem in 20 minutes. Subsequently I returned the food to the guests as requested so they could enjoy the process of making their own lunch.
For the renter to say I paid “little care for our needs or peace of mind” is the opposite of truthful. I gave them exactly what they wanted, (which is what they brought) and they didn’t have to spend time thinking about it so I truly don’t understand the “discomfort” for this “hardy” group.
The renter told me they would be taking the guests to the train 1 hour before the check out time and then coming back to clean up the house. Based on that, I told them I’d stop by ½ hour before check out to drop some things off outside the house. They replied, “no problem.” I didn’t ask them to leave early.
Regarding house functions:
•There are 4 showers upstairs, 2 have excellent water pressure, 2 are less so.
•outside lights function-guest couldn’t figure it out but nobody else has ever found it too complicated.
•Audio system – ?? when I came to house, music was playing on stereo
• I returned for 3 minutes to get my cat who had hidden- nobody knew I was there except the boss
• The house IS lived in- personal belongings during “off –peak” season shouldn’t be surprising.
• cleaning - great staff. Each kitchen item not inspected between rentals If previous guests cleaned poorly and returned an item to cabinet, it is impossible to know.
• extra time arranged off-site is sketchy?-this entire transaction refutes that and slanders and impugns my integrity
Great potential but soiled and bloodied pillows,etc. ruin it.
The house has great potential. Bloodied and sweat stained pillows and who knows where they got the second hand beds made the stay horrific. Directions were a nightmare. All they needed to say is that we share driveway and it would have saved us an hour of crazy driving around. Their sign is a little black letttered postage stamp number at the highest point of the tree. Could provide soap and cheap shampoo. These are easy to fix issues. Otherwise the house is an awesome place to have great get togethers. Really fantastic party house.

I do provide soap and shampoo in all 5 baths. If I inadvertently had run out in one while you were here, I apologize.
All the mattresses were purchased first hand by me. Some are older than others, some are hard and some are firm.
I took your advice and replaced the stained pillows. However, there are 2 pillows on every bed and the extra is meant for decor.

Home is a comfortable, relaxed, farmhouse in the quiet woods with lots of privacy. Has everything you could want for a special vacation with family and friends.
Other Activities: private Bocce court
Golf: Sag Harbor course 5 minutes away is a 9-hole mostly par 4 course and very inexpensive ($20). Montauk Downs, 30 minutes away, is a well-known and very difficult public course.
