Why Kathleen Pfeffer chose Mariposa
This property is designed so nicely nestled in the oaks with nature. Deer often roaming, relaxing and resting in the meadow below the deck.
What makes this House unique
Our secluded oak retreat is incredible for enjoying sunsets, star gazing, wild flowers and bird watching all from the comfort of the deck, hot tub, or large windows in the living-room. This custom home was designed by a local designer with lots of special details. The open beam ceiling, gable windows and skylights allows the home to feel light and spacious.

Fabulous, comfy cabin in beautiful location. Convenient for Yosemite
We have just enjoyed a fabulous 4 day break. The cabin is located in gorgeous countryside and feels really private (you can’t see or hear any neighbouring houses) and we loved seeing deer, foxes and turkeys in the land around the house. The house itself is really well equipped and we enjoyed lighting the wood burning stove most evenings!
Location is really convenient - about 90 mins drive from Fresno airport, an hour from Yosemite village and 10 mins to nearby Mariposa where there are lovely restaurants and coffee shops.
Kathleen and Alex (the owners) were really responsive.
We had a great stay and would definitely book again when coming to Yosemite.
Thanks for a great holiday!
Very secluded with lots of wildlife
We really enjoyed the home. Loved the seclusion and wildlife. The home has everything you need. Perfect for two couples. It is a nice one hour drive to Yosemite Village.
We totally enjoyed our stay in Mariposa. The house was very nice and in a private area. We had everything we needed and felt like we were at home. The park is about 45 min away, so you need to start out by 7 am at the latest. Mariposa is a small town, but after being in Yosemite for 5 days every night we crashed at the house. One of the most amazing places I have ever visited. Everywhere you look is breathtaking. Loved YOSEMITE, would definitely go again.
Great place to make our own meal
Not too far away to grocery store to make our own meals. Good family outing/gathering for a long weekend. Got full refund of deposit back in a week after stay! Only down side was .... Kids wished the TV had antenna reception / cable / internet content / HDMI input to kept them occupied in the evening.
Thanks for sharing your vacation home rental!
The house was a perfect location for our visit to Yosemite. It was quiet and clean. The kitchen was furnished with all you could possibly need. I wish we could have stayed longer. The little town of Mariposa is close and had very good restaurants and a nice grocery. Kathleen brought another chair for the deck and a new propane tank while we were there.
Relaxing getaway, close to Yosemite
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wanted to be close to El Portal entry. Unfortunately the rock slide forced us to take a long drive to other entrance so we stayed in the second day and visited Mariposa. I think that was better than if we had been able to do our original plan! Very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed watching the flock of turkeys.
Great for birders. The swimming in Bear Creek and the Merced River are fabulous in the summer!
