Lots to be thankful for... including our stay at the mountaintop home with family

  • 5 of 5

My family of 11 person stayed here over Thanksgiving 2017. It was awesome. Plenty of room for everyone. We cooked a lot and had everything we needed including a large platter for the turkey. There is a lovely gravel path right down the road, called the Palmetto Trail, offering easy hiking to view local nature’s beauty. There are 6 bedrooms. Downstairs offers two bedrooms: one with a king bed and one with 2 twins and a trundle bed. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms: one with king, two bedrooms with queens, and one with full and twin bed. The upstairs king has private bath with shower. The other bathroom upstairs has a tub. A half bath is located off the kitchen laundry area. Downstairs has a bathroom with shower. Owners were very responsive. This place deserves 5 stars!

We are 13 women who have been doing vacations together for about 25 years and we all agree this was the best place we ever stayed. The view was spectacular, the house was perfect and the area was wonderful. We enjoyed the town of Saluda and did a zip line which was great fun.We would consider coming back Susan Sadowski

We Could Not Be More Satisfied!

  • 5 of 5

I saw a total eclipse in 1970 which I wrote excitedly to my kids about, telling them to try to make an effort to see the one this year. They decided it was family reunion time and left it up to me to find a place in or near Totality. Talk about getting lucky, everybody thought I was a genius for finding and booking this place!

The house is wonderful, the setting is incredibly beautiful and quiet, and everything you could want is already there. Being an early riser, I made my coffee and sat out on the deck overlooking the beautiful valley as the sun rose. As my kids and grandchildren got up, we prepared breakfast (and the other meals) in the fully stocked kitchen and/or grill. We were delighted to find a children's play room that the grandbabies enjoyed with their mothers, grandparents etc. The beds were comfortable, and the configuration of the house provided quiet bedrooms for us "old people" while our adult children talked into the wee hours.

Everything worked perfectly. There were plenty of linens, and the water heater was obviously high capacity. The town of Saluda is cute to visit, but the real city of Hendersonville is not far, with a Walmart, Sam's, and Fresh Market. The 10 thrill-seekers went zip-lining and had a great time at The Gorge Zipline just on the other side of the Interstate from Saluda. Finally, we had a cloud-free view of the total eclipse at a state park not far away.

We all had a great time, and if the current locations of our family remain the same, we might come back here for another get together, even without an eclipse! It is that good!

Why Michelle chose Saluda

Saluda is such a great little town. It is the perfect place to get away and spend memorable family time. There are so many excursions within a short distance that we never run out of things to do and new places to explore.

What makes this house unique

Lots of separate living areas for the kids and adults.

Tubing down the Green River, White Water Rafting
