Very Cozy Cottage! Fun for the whole Family!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the cottage during Father's Day Weekend of 2016. The water level was just right and shallow enough for our 2 year old to play safely. I would recommend water shoes because there are lots of rocks but still plenty of sandy beach to relax! We enjoyed the fire pit on the beach, and took out the row boat briefly. The cottage was well stocked with most everything you need. There was a rock someone had painted that said, " looks like all you need here is beer, firewood, sheets, and food" summed it up for us!! The beds were all very comfortable and the sun room was great! My parents are ready to go back next year!

The views of Lake Huron from the enclosed porch were fantastic. We enjoyed watching the frieghters both daytime and at night when they were brightly lit up. The brand new windows on the porch also brought the sounds of the waves for us to enjoy.

The cottage is furnished with everything people might need, games, tv, dvd, books etc, to enjoy a great time. The kitchen has everything needed to cook,

Since we had a short stay, we had almost 2 days of rain and wind so that we were not able to use the beach, but everything was there for relaxing and getting away from the city life.

Nice getaway!

  • 4 of 5

First of all, Jim was fantastic. Super accommodating and easy to work with. We booked just a couple of days in advance, and he made it very easy. The property is beautiful, and the house is really nice. Rustic enough, but with enough modern touches to it to make it comfortable. The beach was almost gone because the water is so high this year, and that's probably part of the reason the beach was so rocky too. I waded out about 200 feet, but had to waste a pair of shoes to do it, and it was much more sandy. You're pretty close to the neighbors on the one side, and to a small beach used by local public on the other, but sitting on the porch and staring out over the water, you wouldn't know it. If you're looking for a place that's immaculately clean and fancy, this isn't it. If you're looking for a really nice, rustic spot, just feet from Lake Huron, for a good price, you've found your place.

P.S. Let me know how long it takes you to find the bathroom. We had a good chuckle about this.

Amazing Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Jim was so awesome to work with, he made everything nice and easy for us. The house was clean and well stocked. The bedroom down stairs was perfect for my husband and I, our boys were upstairs the house was cool. Some friends of ours came up for one night and the house actually slept 9 and two dogs...and everyone was comfortable.

I loved that the house was so open and refreshingly calm, it was also so nice that my kids could play in the water and even from the house we could see them. My favorite was at night when the day was done and we enjoyed a fire on the beach!!! We will be back and were booking for next year before we were even packed to come home.

Excellent Vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation here. The owners were so easy to work with and extremely friendly and accommodating. Their home was well stocked, and spotless, which was a huge relief!!

The water was very, very cold for this time of year, I'm thinking it was because of the horrible winter we had and the cool down in the evenings. You absolutely cannot beat the location...the sunrises were breathtaking!!

The only downfall to this vacation, was the chilly water, and the large rocks in the water. It was very difficult to walk without hitting one or two, but it was shallow very far out, which the kids enjoyed.

All in all we had a wonderful vacation and a great time! I would highly recommend this property and would recommend to friends/family!

Nice Vacation

  • 4 of 5

The property and home were very nice and very clean. The pictures made the rooms look a bit bigger then they are, but pictures tend to do that. The owner was very pleasent and good to work with. The house was well stocked with everything listed in the posting, everything worked well. The house was well marked with notes and instructions. The neighbors are extremely freindly.

The beach is great. It's got some large rocks submurged here and there to look out for but still very nice to swim - and shallow a long way out. This house sits on one of the nicest sandy spots up and down the shore - so much that it attracts a crowd from the neaby parks. People either walk down the shore, or use the narrow easment next door. On our last Friday there, we were sharing the beach with 20 people. The easment would be great if you had a jet ski on a beach cart, it's wide enough to get that down to the water, but don't expect to be able to get a car down there, or even a wide trailer.

The supplied row boat is in good shape, I hooked up my small outboard and went for some rides and fishing on the calmer mornings.

All in all a nice spot - we would consider renting again.
