About Steve Perez

My wife and I are both in the real estate industry and own a brokerage firm in Orlando, FL named Altura Investment Realty. We are both graduates from the University of Central Florida and have three great kids. We work hard and play hard and this cabin is the most relaxing place we know. We get to visit several times a year and enjoy snowboarding, fishing and just relaxing.

Steve Perez purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Steve Perez chose Banner Elk

We fell in love with the high country of North Carolina and wanted to own a little slice of heaven. We actually used to rent this cabin from the previous owner and fell in love with the views and tranquility it had to offer. The cabin was perfectly located to all we enjoyed doing so when it came up for sale we jumped at the opportunity. We've owned the cabin since 2004 and have loved every minute of it!!

Great location, comfortable cabin

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin in Mill Ridge. It is located at the top of the community, so feels very private and secluded, yet convenient to all of the major attractions including Grandfather Mountain, Valle Crucis, Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, etc. The cabin was the perfect size for our family of 4 (me, wife, two young boys) and the main living area, master bath and kitchen felt clean and recently renovated. A very, solid, affordable option for a trip to the mountains within easy driving distance to multiple activities.

Convenient to everything!!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time! The property was tastefully updated and clean. Super convenient to all the attractions. We visited Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, hiked Profile Trail, canoed on a lake off of the beautiful Blue Ridge Pkwy, horse back riding, swam in the heated pool, shopped in Boone, and took many scenic walks - all in one week and all are within 20 - 30 mins from the cabin! I highly recommend eating at Melenie's in downtown Boone! The owners are very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Amazing views yet close to numerous attractions!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to the Boone area. So many attractions to see! We were over joyed that we used this cabin for home base. We were lucky enough to have spent an entire week here. The cabin is the last home on a winding mountain road, very private. It is situated high on the mountain, thus we had this beautiful mountain view. I appreciate the fact that the cabins seems so remote but we were just minutes away from Boone and other sites. It was clean and well kept as well as tastefully decorated. We did not cook much, (wonderful resturants in the area) but the kitchen is well supplied. If you like peace, nature, amazing views in a private setting, this is the place for you.

Must see attractions close by include Grandfather Mountain and the suspension bridge. The Linville Caverns and the Linville Waterfall are awesome. The cabin is close to Tweetsie Railroad which has rides and games for the kids. There are also 3 major ski resorts within 15 mins along with hundreds of hiking trails. There are trout fishing guides and whitewater rafting guides in the area. The town of Blowing Rock and Banner Elk has excellent shopping and dining. The best part of the cabin is the mountain view from the back deck.
