El Llindar was a true gem—a lovely home in a spectacular location, and an ideal vantage from which to enjoy the dramatic, rugged vistas of the Priorat region and its world famous wines. Tucked into the tiny clifftop village of Siurana—a medieval time capsule of only a few dozen inhabitants, inexplicably home to multiple delicious restaurants and jaw-dropping views—the cozy stone home was pleasantly decorated and well-suited for groups. The space is modern and ample, the bedrooms and bathrooms spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the kitchen fully-equipped. Above all, it was full of character and period charm, and the lovely shaded terrace—the hardest part to leave—offered amazing views of the surrounding canyons. Núria was helpful and responsive in planning for our trip, and Mercé and Bennett were present upon arrival to help us get settled in. Parking is easy and only a short walk from the front door; there is also a seasonal shop steps from the home selling local food items and wines. We were somewhat surprised--given the lack of a store in the village--to find that the home lacked certain basic items, e.g. handsoap in the restrooms (or any toiletries), paper towels in the kitchen, coffee, etc., and we had to travel to the nearby village of Cornudella de Montsant to stock up on some essentials. Despite this, El Llindar is a house that is hard not to love; it is worthwhile for the dramatic location alone, but the comfort, style and pleasant/easy rental experience made it truly difficult to leave.
We initially intended to stay for 5 nights and ended up staying an additional 3 because we loved it so much. The flat location is ideal and everything has been recently updated and is well kept. The beds are comfortable and it is very quite, with light-blocking shades. The views from the balcony are stunning and the flat is well equipped. Núria was a gracious hostess from afar and had everything arranged with easy directions, despite the fact that our Spanish is extremely limited. We have stayed in many places around the world and this is one that we would like to continue to come back to. It's stunning.
Beautiful place in a serene, historic setting. Great place to stay for the holidays. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. The Christmas tree was an added bonus. The house is well maintained and had everything we needed and more (e.g., heated floors). We were lucky enough to witness the rare full moon in such a beautiful setting. Thank you Nuria, Mark, Bennett, and Mercedes for the great hospitality!
We have traveled the world and have never found a better place. This house in the stunning village of Siurana, tucked away in the El Priorat region, is immaculate, large, tastefully decorated, well-stocked, and welcoming. Nuria and her sister Mercedes (who owns the little store in the picture!) are delightful hostesses. The outdoor terrace is the jewel in the crown; watching the sunset having local wine and goat cheese is as beautiful as it is relaxing. We cannot recommend this house and this hidden gem of Spain more highly. Run, don't walk! This is really as good as it gets.
What an amazing place! We absolutely loved the house, watching the sunset at 9:30 pm with a glass of Priorat red and an enormous wheel of tangy goat cheese on the enormous, beautifully furnished terrace--spectacular. Nuria and her sister Mercedes (that little store is a treasure chest) are delightful, incredibly helpful and exceptional hostesses. Siurana is a glorious, idyllic, historic place, in the stunning and glorious Priorat. The house is beautifully and tastefully decorated, spotless, with a plethora of cozy spots for reading, relaxing, thinking, planning what to do tomorrow. The kitchen is excellent and has everything you can imagine needing. Bathrooms are in excellent condition, laundry is easy to use, wood burning furnace very cool though we didn't need to use it. It is even better than it looks--hard to imagine! The Priorat is sprinkled generously with Michelin-starred and recognized restaurants, dotted with lovely little villages and wineries--Nuria and Mercedes are a font of information and suggestions. Thank you for making our fantastic get away so perfect!
