Guest Comments: An absolutely outstanding accommodation. We're minutes from fishing and we'll be back for skiing in the winter.'

'Went wake-boarding in Lake Placid, hiking in the mountains and saw so much wildlife. This will be a memorable vacation because we were relaxed at the Red Spruce and could spend time as a family. Thank-You!'

'Glenn!! We just finished unpacking the car and we are in heaven!!! This place is fantastic, we absolutely love it! '

'Very quiet and peaceful in your Adirondack woods location. We enjoyed snowmobiling, skiing and skating while we were here. Reserve this date for next year because we'll be back'

“We rented during the Iron Man competition and it was everything we expected and more.”

“This was really a nature experience. Our first thought was, where are the people? But we soon began to enjoy the serenity of the trees, the deer, and all of nature around us.

More Guest Comments: “We never got a chance to use the television because there was so much to do. We walked every morning and saw the deer. During our stay we visited Lake Placid, went Kayaking in Taylor Pond and visited Fort Ticonderoga. In the evening we spent hours in the screened porch. Is there as much to do in the Winter?

Why Glenn & Janine Watt chose Whiteface Mountain

We bought this home because we vacationed in this area for years and realized that if you like to hike, kayak or bike in the summer and ski or snowmobile in the winter this is where you need to be. We also wanted a home that was secluded yet offered all the amenities of a modern house.

Summer Vacation in ADK

  • 5 of 5

My group of 8 adults had a memorable vacation in the Adirondacks with the Red Spruce Lodge as home base. It was clean, comfortable, and everything we had hoped for. The owners are very pleasant to work with and quick to respond to phone/email messages. The home is quiet and secluded. The internet works well, but we never turned on the TV. We spent the evenings cooking dinner together and then playing cards on the screened porch. There was so much to do during the day, we were glad to spend the evenings at "home." We enjoyed the July 4 celebration in Lake Placid, the Olympic history of the area, an historic great camp, the Lake Placid Horse Show, a day trip to Burlington, VT, and Fort Ticonderoga.

I would highly recommend this home to travelers who want to stay in a quiet location, but close enough to attractions with a 30-minute drive. The roads are scenic, but winding. (We are used to that in Kentucky.) We would definitely stay here again, if we make another trip to the Adirondacks.

Ski Vacation

We had a wonderful time at this outstanding vacation home. The home was quiet, spacious and very clean. We have rented in the Adirondacks for years and this house is by far the nicest. We've already booked it for next year!

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

This vacation rental is by far the best we've ever stayed at. The pictures do not do it justice. Everything was first class and it was an easy drive to Whiteface. Two of our days we went snowmobiling. This place is well worth the cost. Great family memories and we WILL return!

A unique blend of town and country in Jay, N.Y., Red Spruce Lodge provides peace and serenity reminiscent of an age long ago. Surrounded by the beauty and wilderness of Adirondack Park, year round activities include: fishing, boating, biking, hiking, horseback riding, and a wide array of alpine activities. Nestled on two acres of private property, Red Spruce is surrounded by Adirondack forest. Red Spruce Lodge guest privileges include access to tennis courts, 6 miles of private hiking/cross country trails, and a nearby pond for a mellow paddle or some serious bird watching! Some prefer to sit on the banks and chat or watch the water roll by. Going to a country store, village library or for a country breakfast at a nearby restaurant brings back the joys of a time gone by in most places but remains in the Forever Wild Adirondacks. Swimming, fishing and kayaking are just a few ways to enjoy the beautiful Ausable River. Lake Placid Village is just 20 beautiful minutes away.

Other Activities: Snowmobiling
