Why Linda and Doug Behrens chose MidCoast and Penobscot Bay

My husband and I love the outdoors. We have been going to Maine for many years to hike and canoe. We visited friends on Swan lake and fell in love with the peaceful lake and beautiful sunsets.

What makes this house unique

We have a very private beach area. It's fun to have a fire and toast marshmallows under the stars. We also love to hear the call of the loons at night.

I am going to sum this up. Breathtaking, beautiful location on Swanlake. Unexpected stocked home with everything to offer! We felt completely at home and did not want to leave. The views throughout the home were endless. Rain or Shine, we had an amazing time. Coming from a family who is all about palm trees and blue oceans, we are looking to come back again this summer. The most relaxing fun week. We fished everyday catching an array of different types of fish off the canoe and kayaks and directly off the beach. We didn't leave the house for one day except to go to the gun range. The weather was perfect although it rained 2 days out of 6, we still found comfort inside with the stocked kitchen appliances fireplace and views. The house is maintained with every amenity. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, sandy beach, fresh decking and a hose outside to rinse off before entering the home. The owners are sweet and allowed us to stay 2 extra days. I love the fact we were able to use the washer and dryer before we left. I cant say enough it was fantastic!

The Quintessential Lake Cottage

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking the quintessential lake cottage this is it with all of the modern conveniences. A lovely, well maintained cottage that is both comfortable, relaxing and offering a wonderful view. The lake was clear, warm and inviting. The kitchen is well appointed if you are inclined to indulge your inner chef. If not ,Belfast is a short ride away with many fine restaurants. There are so many things to do and sights to see along the coast of Maine that the week went by all too quickly. The guest house provided even more privacy for our party of four. I can't wait to return!

Swan Lake Gem

  • 5 of 5

This cozy cottage on Swan Lake had everything we needed for a wonderful Maine vacation. Perfect for our group of 6 adults. The guest cottage is very private and peaceful. Very comfortable beds and furniture made us feel right at home. The owner left us the canoe and kayak to use which were perfect for beautiful Swan Lake. The lake is crystal clear and clean. Perfect for kayaking or swimming. Swan Lake is close to Belfast where there are great restaurants and shops and close enough to Camden to visit for day trips. We visited Bar Harbor, Rockland and several towns in between as well. Young's Lobster Pound is a must. Take a picnic basket, some wine or beer and enjoy a real Maine dinner overlooking Belfast Harbor.
