The villa, thanks to its convenient location overlooking the bay most evocative of Praiano overlooking the deep blue sea: it offers a magnificent view thanks to large terraces that surround that look, on the one hand, the famous Conca dei Marini and by ' another historic Saracen tower, named 'the Sciola', open to the public. My family of 5 stayed at La Limonaia, which was so comfortable for us. It is a perfect apartment, being the top floor of a villa overlooking the ocean. It has a huge balcony/deck with an amazing view. Mrs. Lucrezia, the caretaker of the apartment, lives just next door and is always quick to respond if you need something. We just loved the small-town, true Italian feeling that we experienced here. I would NOT call this house convenient, but we were looking more for interesting than convenient. The closest you could possibly park a car is about a 10-minute walk away. The good news is that there is a great little grocery store at pretty much the same place. The walk down to La Praia beach is a bit of an adventure (and, of course, back up, even more so), but we loved this quiet (in October) little rocky beach. Great little restaurant with outdoor seating right by the water down there. From this location, during a 4-night stay, we visited Pompeii, Herculaneum, Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, Capri, Paestum, and the Tenuta Vanelo buffalo mozzarella dairy farm. We drove a rental car to most of these places, but took the public bus from Praiano to Positano to catch the ferry to Capri. The chairlift in Anacapri was a highlight for our family! Anyway, it's quite doable to do lots of sightseeing from this property, but it still feels a bit out-of-the-way and secluded. We thought it was weird that we had to provide a 200€ cash deposit upon arrival, but we did it, and everything worked out fine. I recommend this place wholeheartedly, as long as you are okay with climbing stairs! We loved our time here.
The property focal, Ornello, was prompt in her communication & very detailed so we were prepared prior to our arrival. If you drive to Praiano, don't expect to park anywhere close to the property as the roads are extremely narrow & on an extreme incline. However, there is a great parking lot off the main road called Castellano Parking; they are wonderful to deal with & very accommodating. Umberto offered to drive our van up to the meeting point (Tutto per tutti) to unload our luggage & meet Mrs. Lucrezia, the managing agent, who accompanied us on the long trek to La Limonia. Then, he drove the van back down to the parking lot & did the same upon our departure. I highly recommend them for any parking needs. The apartment had a fantastic view of Praiano and the coast. It was large, comfortable and quiet. Our party of 6 found it quite accommodating. The middle bedroom was difficult for 2 people to sleep in the pullout trundle bed without blocking the pathway to the bathroom from the other bedroom, but the 2 young adults in our party slept on the sofa, so it worked out. The WiFi only worked 1 day, but when we told Mrs. Lucrezia at checkout, we found it was a simple step of rebooting the fuse box – this would have been helpful to know up front. There was also a shortage of toilet tissue, hand soap & dish soap so we picked these necessities from the little market. Also plan to space out any showers if you’re staying with a larger group as the hot water ran out quickly; suggest waiting about 1 hour in between. Writing these minor cons because without WiFi it was difficult to contact Mrs. Lucretia to notify her. The house is well equipped for hanging out on the terrace, drinking wine, enjoying the view & watching the incredible sunrises & sunsets. However, as one other reviewer noted, bring bug spray - mosquitos are aggressive. It is a beautiful walk to the little market, ‘Tutto per tutti’, with a quaint outdoor restaurant just up the walkway. If you venture down to the main road or the beach/marina, it is quite a hike back up -- 287 steps, but it made us feel less guilty for all the pasta & gelatos we consumed! We ‘drove’ into Sorrento along the narrow, curvy roads which was a bit harrowing. So, on our trip into Positano, we decided to take a water-taxi – this was definitely the way to go. He took us into some grottos along the way & took pictures of the group. Overall, it was a wonderful stay for the entire party. Grazie!
The apartment had the best view in Praiano. It was large, comfortable and quiet. Our family of five found it perfect in every way. The wifi was weak and rarely worked, but we needed to put down our electronic devices. It is a beautiful walk to a great market and nice restaurant. It is quite a hike back up from the beach, but there is an internal Praiano bus if you prefer not to walk. We liked the hike because it allowed us to feel like we deserved all the gelato! We took the Praiano to Positano bus one day. Positano is beautiful but very touristy and crowded. I had never been to Italy and chose Praiano off of reading others opinions. We took the bus to Salerno upon departure and after seeing the entire coast we are grateful we choose Praiano and this apartment. Grazie!
Bring a sense of adventure with you as your virgin walk to the home is story #1. Everything after that is relaxing, especially the SPECTACULAR views. Mrs. Lucrezia, the managing agent is wonderful.
If you haven't exercised enough going down all the steps to the beach, then look up and follow the steps to the toward the "Path of the Gods" There is a starting point in Praiano, But bring water , LOTS of water. Its an adventure you will speak of forever
The house is well equipped for hanging out if thats your speed. You can watch magnificent sunrises from the lounge chairs on the veranda , shop at Tutto per Tutti, for all your groceries. Hold on to each and every minute because it will all go by so quickly. I highly recommend this house in Paradise.
My family and I (a total of 6) stayed here and loved it. We had a wide range of age and fitness levels in the group from 6 years old and energetic to 60 years old and not so energetic. The walk to and from the property is a bit long and hilly but the views and peace of the property are completely worth it! The property manager met us and gave us a great orientation. There is wi-fi and TV if you so desire to use them. Also, as with most European properties, make sure to turn on the hot water when you get in to ensure hot water for things like washing dishes and showers. Overall, a wonderful stay for my family. We didn't want to leave.
This is a quiet piece of heaven with an amazing view. The house was clean and comfortable. The walk to the house was a little longer than expected but a pretty walk and everyone in Priano is very friendly. Bring your bug spray as the mosquitos can be aggressive.
Are possible transfers to and from Naples Capodichino Airport. Visits to Pompeii and Herculaneum
