Poor communication with property owners
We weren't able to check in to the condo until after 6pm on our arrival date because we were never sent the code for the lockbox. Once we got inside we soon realized that the condo was dirty. Sheets were in a pile on top of each bed, towels were dirty in the washer, bathrooms were dirty and not stocked for guest arrival, kitchen trash was full and floors were dirty. I got in touch with the property owners right away and they assured me that the cleaners would be there the next day. They did not show up and there was no further communication from the property owners. The Fire House property was as listed. The space was perfect for two families and the location was great. Owners should be communicating with their clients in professional manner. We asked for some reimbursement. I am still waiting for it. Very disappointing.
The firehouse with the best views!
The Fire House was amazing! The home was comfortable and welcoming. The views from the home were breath taking. My kids had a blast enjoying and relaxing during our stay. We would stay again and we highly recommend it.
Thanks so much for the positive review. Really glad you and your family had such an enjoyable time. That's exactly what we're aiming for.

Awesome views of Lake Tahoe and surrounding mountains. Lovely, well maintained, cheerful condo.
A few distractions from our otherwise lovely stay:
Bedrooms very cold on a cold winter night; no way to heat them to a comfortable temperature.
No internet, no cable TV.
Toaster did not work.
Tricky to find at night as the address was not lit and the addresses on the cul-de-sac are not in ascending numerical order.
Great location, great value, and perfect for small families
We really enjoyed our stay at the fire house. It is cozy and the perfect size for two small families. We had 4 adults and 2 children. The kids slept on kid size air beds we brought with us. The loft is cool, but was too high for us to feel comfortable letting our 4 and 6 year old climb up and down.
The views are amazing! Plus, if it snows, the front deck is a perfect spot for the kids to play in the snow if you don't plan to venture out right away. You do need to be aware that there are a significant number of stairs to climb from the parking lot.
The owners are super easy to work with. I was able to text and quickly get answers when I needed help. The only unfortunate glitch was that we couldn't watch the Olympics because the TV / cable wasn't working. We found a workaround and upped our mobile data plan and streamed it via the internet.
We look forward to coming back in the near future!
Thank you for sharing your home!
So glad you enjoyed The Firehouse, exactly how we pictured it being used. Sorry about the cable TV not working and so glad you could figure your way around it.
Hope you come back again. BARBIE & JIMMY.
Great place to stay
This is a absolutely charming townhome. Well furnished and beautifully decorated. Spacious but cozy with a great view of the mountains. Kitchen is well equipped and all the drawers and cabinets are labeled for your convenience. Warm and comfortable, perfect place to relax after a day of snowboarding on the slopes. The owners were an absolute pleasure to deal with and very understanding when we needed a little help to find the house arriving late at night.
The only hiccup to our otherwise great weekend was that the power went out on the second morning so we woke up a little chilly. But that's not the fault of the owners or the townhouse.
Would not hesitate to book this place again.
Casinos; gambling, shopping, restaurants, live shows & comedy, antiquing and Wally's Hot Springs Spa.

Barbie and Jim Nellesen have owned this cabin since 1993. Jim is a retired Fire Captain from Anaheim Fire Dept. We raised our family vacationing in Tahoe and the kids have great memories. Jim's 33 year fire career inspired us to create the fire house theme. The best part is meeting all you folks and being a part of your good times at The Fire House.
BARBIE purchased this Townhome in 1993
Why BARBIE chose Tahoe Village
Barbie says, 'When I saw the view, I told the Captain that this was the place for us.' The views are brreathtaking and they always thrill us no matter how many times we see them. We fall in love with the place every time we come. Watching from our deck is a panorama of seasons, days & nights, sunsets & sunrises. It's really awesome. You actually can feel the tension leaving your body by the 3rd day.
What makes this Townhome unique
Secluded is the word. Away from busy highways, hustle and bustle of downtown, commercial venus. All that is down by the lake and casinos. Real privacy. No one can see into your place from any other place around. It is totally supplied with everything that you will need to be comfortable. The terrain around is very rugged and natural. The views took our breath away.
