About Kathleen McCorvie

This is our only home in the Smoky Mountains. We love it, but live in the burbs of Orlando, Florida, so can't get there as often as we would like. Kathleen has put a lot of herself into our beautiful home and most renters comment on how beautifully furnished and decorated it is. It is the last home on the mountain lane, so it is private and peaceful with no other nearby homes to obstruct the mountain view from the deck.

Kathleen McCorvie purchased this house in 2006

Why Kathleen McCorvie chose Maggie Valley

We visited Maggie Valley for the first time in 2006 and bought our home a few months later. We love the unpretentiousness of Maggie and find it a place we can truly relax. The location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

We like hiking the mountain lanes around our home. Just a short hike down the mountain leads to a small waterfall. The gurgling sound can be heard from porches.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying in your cabin. It is so beautiful and i n one of the prettiest spots we saw up there. Watching the full moon rise while sitting in the hot tub was like heaven. We all agreed we would definitely go there again.

The Ultimate Treehouse Should Be Your Next Ultimate Vacation Spot!

  • 5 of 5

The ultimate treehouse VRBO rental is perfect! It is secluded enough to feel private, yet close enough to the many activities near by (golf, hiking, rafting/tubing. shopping, casino, horseback riding, zip lining, wildlife viewing, etc.). The house is clean and comfortable with everything you need for your vacation. It looks exactly like the pictures and there is no misrepresentation. The beds are comfortable, all appliances work, the hot tub is fabulous, and the fire pit and porch incredible. But the views...no words can describe how amazing they are. I can't wait to come back for the fall colors or winter snow. The only advisory is that the road up to the house is very steep so it is best to have or rent a V6 or 4 wheel drive.

Owner's Response: We appreciate your kind review. We always hope our guests love our little mountain paradise as much as we do. We agree guests with stronger vehicles will get up the mountain a little faster, but we also have had many guests with smaller cars who have made their way up and down without any issues.

Mountain Delight

  • 5 of 5

Let me begin by thanking the owners for allowing us to enjoy their wonderful cabin. The cabin was clean top to bottom and was well decorated and comfortable. One would have to see the outside in person to understand the beauty of the location and the mountains that you see in the mornings and evenings. If anyone is looking for a peaceful, relaxing time away from home this is is. Its very close to everything to include shopping in Waynesville and Maggie Valley. I rate it at excellent and have already recommended it to friends. I will return for again as soon as I am allowed. You will not regret staying here.

Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family. It had the right amount of space, sweet country mountain decor, and activities for everyone to do. Each evening we used the hot tub and had a fire.

Peace and quite.

  • 5 of 5

Watched a large thunderstorm explode in the mountains beyond while sitting safe and sound inside. Home was clean and well-kept.

Deck is fine place to enjoy coffee, read a book and solve every problem facing mankind. ;)

Waynesville is nice. Good breweries. Nearby.

Drive Blue Ridge Parkway back to Waynesville and then local road to Maggie Valley.

Great antique store Sutton and Sons on main road in Maggie Valley. Bought some pieces there without any plan at all!

Fantastic vacation home for our family of four

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family. The master bedroom is great. Upstairs had a bedroom with a queen bed for one of my kids, and the loft had a sofa bed for my other kid. All of the beds including the sofa bed were comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub and the grill. We had great spring weather, so we enjoyed meals on the deck which has a spectacular view of the area. Thank you for a great home to enjoy our time in the Great Smoky Mountains!
