About Kathleen McCorvie

This is our only home in the Smoky Mountains. We love it, but live in the burbs of Orlando, Florida, so can't get there as often as we would like. Kathleen has put a lot of herself into our beautiful home and most renters comment on how beautifully furnished and decorated it is. It is the last home on the mountain lane, so it is private and peaceful with no other nearby homes to obstruct the mountain view from the deck.

Kathleen McCorvie purchased this house in 2006

Why Kathleen McCorvie chose Maggie Valley

We visited Maggie Valley for the first time in 2006 and bought our home a few months later. We love the unpretentiousness of Maggie and find it a place we can truly relax. The location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

We like hiking the mountain lanes around our home. Just a short hike down the mountain leads to a small waterfall. The gurgling sound can be heard from porches.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying in your cabin. It is so beautiful and i n one of the prettiest spots we saw up there. Watching the full moon rise while sitting in the hot tub was like heaven. We all agreed we would definitely go there again.

Wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

My family had the pleasure of staying at the home the last days of the year. My young daughters enjoyed exploring around the home and visiting Cherokee, Soco Falls and the Great Smoky Mountains. The views from the home are beautiful and the house is well-maintained and comfortable. It was a nice treat to end the day at the home enjoying s'mores and a warm fire just steps from the home. The home has a large deck with ample furniture that should be a great spot in warmer weather. Like others, we recommend arriving the first day before nightfall. Road to home is steep but drivable. We would consider the home again for future trips to the Smokies and recommend it to others without hesitation.

Fantastic mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Best vacation we've had in a while. Perfect location! The house and its amenities were perfect for what we needed and the views can't be beat. It's centrally located for activities and day trips to surrounding areas, and is a perfect venue for a couple or a family getaway 365 days a year.

I wish we could've stayed longer!

Quite Christmas

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was perfect for us. It was clean but some of the furniture is starting to show wear. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. Although we had no problem driving up to the cabin the ride was a little hairy and wouldn't want to try it if there was snow (being from south Florida). The welcome book mentions hiking to the falls nearby by following the road past the cabin however the neighbors had the road blocked off with posted signs and beware of dogs do we didn't get to see the falls.

A lot of places were closed for the season so there wasn't much to do. Maybe summer would be better

Charming and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations were clean and cozy. The kitchen was ample space for us to enjoy breakfast in the mornings. It is conveniently located, being just outside of Maggie Valley, with easy access to Waynesville and Asheville. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good views. Great hot tub. Excellent vacation overall. Thanks!
