About Kathleen McCorvie

This is our only home in the Smoky Mountains. We love it, but live in the burbs of Orlando, Florida, so can't get there as often as we would like. Kathleen has put a lot of herself into our beautiful home and most renters comment on how beautifully furnished and decorated it is. It is the last home on the mountain lane, so it is private and peaceful with no other nearby homes to obstruct the mountain view from the deck.

Kathleen McCorvie purchased this house in 2006

Why Kathleen McCorvie chose Twinbrook

We visited Maggie Valley for the first time in 2006 and bought our home a few months later. We love the unpretentiousness of Maggie and find it a place we can truly relax. The location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

We like hiking the mountain lanes around our home. Just a short hike down the mountain leads to a small waterfall. The gurgling sound can be heard from porches.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying in your cabin. It is so beautiful and i n one of the prettiest spots we saw up there. Watching the full moon rise while sitting in the hot tub was like heaven. We all agreed we would definitely go there again.

Stunning views, friendly owners, and overall great

  • 5 of 5

Ratings based out of 10, with 10 as the highest.

A 200 degree view of the valley and surrounding mountains. Neighbors are close but not too close.

Right off the main road of maggie valley, it is a bit of a drive to get to but worth the view.

Difficulty Getting There- 5

4WD recommended, there are tight turns and steep gradients. Again, worth the drive and very pretty.

Owners Service-9

We had a minor run in with the hot tub requiring repairs while we were staying there, but the owners were very receptive and got it fixed remotely while we were out for the day.

Interior- 9

Lovely decor inside and out. Very tasteful and roomy cabin. Perfect for up to 5-6 ppl.

Things to do close by- 7

Maggie valley does not have that many places of interest. Blue ridge parkway is close and gorgeous, but if you are driving to Asheville or anywhere else it will likely be a 30+ minute drive. Be prepared and plan accordingly.

Amenities- 8

They provide wonderful appliances, smallwares, china, and other goodies from past tenants.

A great experience during the holidays, I would recommend it highly and we will be back soon. This is a wonderful place to vacation, you will not be disappointed!

Owner's Response: While our home is in the mountains, the 5 minute drive up is on a newly paved asphalt road. The road is two lanes allowing cars to pass by one another. We do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and have had no issues getting up and down over a dozen years.

Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

This cabin in the mountains is absolutely stunning. The drive up the mountain to the home is a bit scary but it's well worth it. Also, if your an experienced multi-terrain driver than I'm sure you'll be fine (I, however, was a nervous wreck, but like I said it's well worth it). The view from the deck is absolutely stunning and at night you can see all the lights on the mountain across from the home. We even had a skunk come up on the porch one night during our stay which was pretty cool to see. The owners of this beautiful home really thought of everything. They have just about any cook ware you could need and other items to accommodate your stay as well. The cleaning requirements that they ask for before leaving is nothing compared to all that's provided. It was well worth it, we'd definitely book it again in the future.

Beautiful views. Cozy and clean cabin.

  • 5 of 5

Truly enjoyed our honeymoon stay at the ultimate treehouse! The home was clean and welcoming. Hot tub was warm when we arrived. Many great things to do near by in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Asheville. Frankie's Italian restaurant and Pop's Place were two of our favorite places to eat near by within Maggie Valley! Had a wonderful stay!
