Please see my other home in between Mount Snow and Stratton #4059855
This great house is located just off Route 100 and just outside the small town of Wardsboro. Stop at the well stocked General Store for virtually all your necessities. The House is perched on the side of Stacey Mountain with great views and sunsets especially from the 6+ person outdoor hot tub. Its covered so you have clear, covered access in the snow. Take the back roads from Mount Snow or Stratton and avoid all the traffic! Its less than 15 minutes to Mount Snow and about 25 to Stratton. Okemo and Bromley aren't too far either. The property is over 10 acres for hiking, snowshoeing and tranquility! We have direct access to to the V.A.S.T. snowmobile trail system to bring along your sleds!

The first thing I did when I saw this property was contact the owner to be sure there was reliable WiFi access. The group going on the trip to VT is a bunch of workaholic New Yorkers with whose careers require us to stay connected. The owner Ken was prompt in his reply that the internet was solid.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, there was no connection. We called the provider ourselves, but none of the easy fixes worked. We got in touch with Ken the next day, and he too just suggested the easy fixes we had tried. We called the provider again and when we finally got to someone to look deeper into the issue, we were told that they couldn't help because the house used a "third party modem". Ken seemingly did not take any time of his own to investigate or try to assist - perhaps because it was holiday.
But the biggest insult is that he did not refund us any money for the inconvenience of lacking a very important amenity and it is for that reason that I do not recommend this house.
In general, the house was nice (smaller than it appears in pictures), is well-stocked, and has a terrific Jacuzzi. It should be mentioned that the "room" with the twin beds doesn't have a door, but is an alcove open to the downstairs pool room/living room. If you're traveling with kids, this can be an issue as the Jacuzzi is off this room and it can be tough to optimize that space while children are sleeping down there.
And, of course, if you need internet access, this does not seem to be a reliable spot.
We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub after skiing all day. Also, Ken was very responsive and helpful with regards to details about the house. Thanks!
Ken has a great house on a great property. It easily held eleven of us and our pup. It was clean, warm, spacious and had plenty of amenities from electronics to a fully functional kitchen. We would definitely go back.
This house is located on a nice large and private property with really great views of the surrounding mountains. There is plenty of space to relax with your group in the open concept kitchen/living room or the basement area. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with good sleeping arrangements for 12. Ken the owner, was very fair and made the house feel like it was ours for the weekend. I plan on renting this house again in the future because our experience was so great! Thanks Ken!
We stayed 3 days during Christmas holiday in this wonderful place and my group feels great. Very nice house equipped with all kinds of amenities. Manager Kenneth is a very nice guy who helps me since first second of my reservation. During the vacation, we had campfire outdoor and enjoy Jacuzzi every night. The mini pool and all kinds of board games provide us extra fun and memories. I sincerely recommend this joyful property and definitely will come back for next snowboarding trip.
We spent 3 nights in this cozy, spacious, and beautifully secluded ski home. The pictures in the listing are very nice but I would say they do not do the house justice. Everything about the house was perfect for us! It is beautifully situated on the high plateau of the otherwise hilly property. The many windows/sliders offered fantastic views of the Southern Vermont mountains. Our party of 11 was very comfortably accomodated by the 3 bedrooms + 4 bunks. The kitchen was equipped with all necessary items and, then some, to cook great meals. The family room offered a nice flat screen TV and the potbelly stove kept us very warm. Our favorite feature of the house was the game room, which allowed the kids to entertain themselves while the adults did the same in relative peace in the upstairs family room. Wardsboro, VT is a small but quait village which features a great general store just minutes from the house. If more was needed, other options were a short drive from the house. Ken, the property owner, was more than gracious! He was very attentive to all of our needs, including providing nearby dining suggestions and even quickly sending a repairman out to replace the front door lockset. One word of advice: during winter months, be sure you have a 4WD vehicle. Even though the driveway is frequently plowed, it is very difficult to climb without 4WD.
In short, I could not give this property a higher recommendation and most certainly plan to return.
This outstanding property is just outside the very small village of Wardsboro... you are able to see the church steeple in the view at the bottom of the valley. Very quiet except for an occasional echo of a dog barking in the valley and the river rushing by.
The location is very convenient between to major ski resorts Mount Snow, and Stratton as well as two lakes, parks and recreation areas. Townshend Lake and recreation area, Jamaica State Park and Grout Pond and of course the entire Green Mountain National Forest.
Hiking trails on the property as well as directly connected to the extensive VAST trail system. Enjoy a private trail to the summit of Stacey Mountain with views of Stratton Mountain.
