Wonderful Way to Enjoy the Desert

  • 5 of 5

We have camped in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park for years and found staying here was a very good alternative to it. We enjoyed the serenity of the desert with the conveniences of home. The location of this property allowed us to be close to the bird and animal life of the desert just as camping did but also allowed for an enjoyable home-like lifestyle as well. Minutes from the center of Borrego Springs and from the State Park, we enjoyed the best of both worlds.

Desert solitude with the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my week of solitude in this welcoming, homey and well-equipped house. I loved sipping my morning coffee on the front porch, watching the desert wake up. Very serene, yet just a few minutes from town and various other activities. And yes, the fresh oranges are a delicious treat! I would happily stay here again.

Cozy relaxation in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

We so appreciated this wonderfully accommodating home set in a quiet & serene setting. What a pleasure it was to relax morning or evening on the porches sipping fresh amazing orange juice. We enjoyed all the wild life, especially the roadrunners building nests in the orange grove out back. The home was comfortable & made it easy for my 80 year old parents to just relax, enjoy the sunshine, mountain views, starry nights, & open desert terrains. The subdivision is quiet & we took long walks right from the home into the neighboring hills. There are many attractions to enjoy in the area. Loved the Palm spring hike & driving over to Salton Sea. A wonderful winter get away.

Clean, simple, fresh orange juice and nice views out back

  • 5 of 5

The house was exactly what we were looking for with our two kids. The pictures are very representative and the view out back is especially nice as there are no houses, only dessert, for 1/2 mile. As the other reviewer noted there are jack rabbits, road runners and lots of birds in the orange trees. It is a great deal.

Oranges and stars, rabbits and roadrunners!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our early spring week at this property. In our first 24 hours we saw from our window all the things listed in the title of this review. In a neighborhood 2 miles south of town, one still gets a wonderful desert vista out to the mountains on the north side. The kitchen is better furnished than many VRBO properties we have rented. We appreciated and made use of the WiFi. We woke at 4 A.M. one morning in order to view the stars without moonlight: magnificant! Two nights of high winds convinced us that the house was snug and very well built. Six days of sunshine warmed our northern midwest bones. We hiked many of the trails in the State Park,--liked the Palm Canyon hike best of all. Good day trip to Joshua Tree Nat'l. Park.
