Lake Lure Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, loft; sleeps 10

It is with great pleasure we welcome you to stunning 'Dreamcatcher' ! Peacefully tucked in lush woods whose porch overlooks a meandering stream running right down its side. Located in the beautiful Riverbend community, 'Dreamcatcher' is our dream come true.

It is always our sincere hope that Dreamcatcher not just meet, but even exceed our guest's expectations. For that reason we left out nothing when breathing life into this already lovely log home. One can't help but relax in the charm of its warm embrace. Open beam construction and decorated with detail featuring three large bedrooms, three large full bathrooms (one on each floor), basement playroom, loft, family room with wood burning fireplace and stocked kitchen. A mud room with washer/dryer and utility sink offers access to the three sided deck. Here, adults and kids alike can kick off their dirty boots, provided in various sizes for your enjoyment, after an afternoon of playing in the creek.

Dreamcatcher is a non-smoking, dog friendly cabin that sleeps ten very comfortably with two kings, one queen, and 4 twin beds. Cozy enough for two, but its thoughtful layout makes it easy for large families to spread out. Stake your claim on a quiet place to relax and read a book, head to the basement to play fooseball, air hockey, or even a video game on the PS2, or pick one of two televisions featuring satellite and VCR/DVD.

We can't think of many things better than enjoying that first cup of coffee while rocking on the porch and listening to the creek make its way from the gentle waterfall in back and down the cabin's side. You can choose to stay here all day and relax or plan your day to any one of the many activities Lake Lure and the surrounding area has to offer.

Located in the planned community of wooded Riverbend where we often see deer, wild turkey, or even a hawk nesting in a tall tree just beyond the porch. You would have access to its two small, private lakes with beach and picnic area. The French Broad River is there for you to enjoy fishing, tubing, or canoeing/kayaking. Not far is your chance to brave a zip line!

Lake Lure is gorgeous with rock faces to the water and boasts a fun beach/water park with many lifeguards on duty in season. Play golf at one of the three courses nearby, play tennis or basketball near the lake, or rent a boat and enjoy skiing, tubing or knee boarding while learning new techniques from your personal certified instructor. Lovely evening cruises are a wonderful way to view Lake Lure's beauty and leave every hour at the beach's marina.

Nearby Chimney Rock is a fun little town offering unique shops, putt putt by the river, and restaurants. Here we love to take our ice cream cones and go 'boulder hopping' when not getting wet is the challenge but also the most fun! Hiking Chimney Rock is spectacular! Not far is Asheville where, among other things, you might tour Biltmore Estates and Winery. The beauty of having your space here is the mountains offer something for everyone!

We had a WONDERFUL summer stay at the Dream Catcher!! The cabin is beautiful and has every amenity you could possibly need. Our two young sons loved the private creek and waterfall as well as the air hockey and foosball tables. We had a ball roasting hot dogs and making s'mores around the firepit and thoroughly enjoyed our evenings at Mirror Lake. We took advantage of our surroundings and hiked Chimney Rock, drove to Linville Caverns, went gem mining and took a Lake Lure tour. We were very busy and loved coming back to the cabin at night to relax. Dream Catcher lends itself to a very family-oriented vacation with lots of time for talking and bonding.

Best Sleep Ever

  • 5 of 5

Complete peace and tranquility with Direct TV and Internet. Never have we had such complete peace. Just follow the mountain road into the gated community to find this lovely spot. It was just the two of us and our dog but three couples could be there with complete privacy. Bring you groceries with you as it is a bit of a ride back to the store.

Wonderful amenities, relaxing setting

  • 5 of 5

To sum up our stay I will quote my daughter.."This was the best vacation ever!". This coming from a girl when asked if she would rather go to the mountains or the beach for vacation this year, chose the beach. I believe the Dreamcatcher cabin was a big factor in why we had such a great time. The cabin was beautifully decorated, the house was well stocked with the items we needed (but maybe didn't think of buying before we came) and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Once we got used to the windy roads around Lake Lure (I made my husband drive everywhere :) ) and found out where everything was in the area (great Ingles grocery store not far away), we settled in. The big surprise was how much we ended up loving Mirror Lake where the kids could swim at a very clean and relaxing beach with hardly any other people around. There was plenty in the area to do for all ages. We went tubing and wakeboarding on Lake Lure (my kids favorite activity) as well as went to the Biltmore and downtown Asheville as well as to Chimney Rock and even had an air hockey tournament in the basement. Great experience for all!

Had a great time at the Dream Catcher!

  • 4 of 5

We celebrated Christmas and New Years at the Dream Catcher with our kids and grandchildren. We had a wonderful time! Plenty of cooking items and clean linens with comfortable beds. Although there were a few issues. Refrigerator froze a lot of our food. The banister on the stairs going upstairs was loose and could be dangerous. Only one glass shower door in the master bedroom and dinning room chairs are not very sturdy. Could use some repairs.

Owner's Response: Cheryl, so pleased you all enjoyed your visit together at the cabin! We take great pride in our vacation homes and strive to be good stewards of the trust folks put in us to provide a five star experience. Dream Catcher’s busy rental schedule this season clearly had its effects and appreciate so much your bringing this to our attention. This, as well as exploring new and fresh ways to enhance Dream Catcher, has my immediate attention. Thank you for taking the time to provide such valuable feedback!

Great Mountain Cabin Vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our week at Dream Catcher! The cabin was every bit as good as listed and rated here. The cabin was spacious enough for our extended family of seven, ranging from a 17 month old boy to an 87 year old great-grandmother, plus a chocolate lab. Neal kept us well informed before and during our stay, and the cabin was clean and very well decorated and furnished.

The weather was unseasonably warm, so we really did not need all the cold weather clothes that we brought. We visited Chimney Rock and the Biltmore mansion, but mainly enjoyed and relaxed at the cabin, explored the area, cooked hamburgers, hot dogs and marshmallows on bonfires and the BBQ grill, and just visited. The creek near the cabin is great, although our grandson at 17 months was a bit young for that - instead, he sure loved to go rock, leaf and stick hunting many times near the cabin.

We cooked most of our meals at the cabin, so we brought probably more groceries than we needed to, given that there is a nice Ingles supermarket only about 10 minutes from Dream Catcher. We also brought our own electric griddle to cook Texas French toast (one of our family favorites) among other things, for breakfast.

The packed gravel/dirt roads near the cabin are a bit steep in places, so we were glad to have brought our 4-wheel drive. Although, the Dream Catcher cabin is very nicely situated on a very gentle lot - one of the best lots in the area, as far as I could tell.

Oh, and I would advise bringing an axe, as the local firewood for sale is hard oak/hickory, and needs to be cut into smaller pieces to get a fire going. My son and son-in-law enjoyed the exercise of chopping the wood - not something they get to do much of in Florida.

The week went by all too fast, and we were all sorry to see it end. We are already planning our next trip to the Dream Catcher next spring or summer - we'd also love to see all the rhododendrons on the property in bloom!

Fun and Awesome

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our week at Dream Catcher. Of course none of us wanted to leave. The boys had a great time playing in the creek. The cabin was beautilful. It was family and pet friendly in every way. We visited Chimney Rock, took a boat tour on Lake Lure and visited a nearby town that had a fabulous kids museum...there was so much more to do! Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. We had a wonderful vacation.
