Our beautiful house is right across the street from the quiet beach in Wilbur-by-the-Sea, a little town on a barrier island between Ponce Inlet and Daytona Beach Shores. It is directly across the street from the ocean.
Walk to the fishing pier or splash in the ocean. Come back for a dip in the pool then play foosball while your friends fire up the grill. Better yet, walk three blocks to Boondocks, an open-air marina restaurant.
The SunGlow Pier is one mile north, the SunCruz casino boat and the Ponce Inlet lighthouse are four miles south. Daytona Beach main street pier is seven miles away. St. Augustine is a 45 minute drive up I-95 north. Disney World is 90 minutes west on I-4. Kennedy Space center is an hour south. Winter Park, with a famous, very charming shopping area (Park Avenue), as well as museums and a scenic boat tour around the chain of lakes, is one hour west on I-4.
And once again, the ocean is right across the street!
What's in the rental agreement?: Once you tell me that you want to rent the house, I'll prepare a rental agreement and e-mail it to you. The actual agreement takes precedence over any description written here. Generally (not always), the agreement contains the following:
1. Security deposit due within seven days, to complete the reservation.
2. Rent plus tax due two months before arrival.
3. Full refund with cancellation more than eight weeks before arrival.
4. Forfeit security deposit with cancellation four to eight weeks before arrival.
5. Forfeit up to $1000 with cancellation less than four weeks before arrival.
6. I can accept payments through PayPal, including credit card payments. PayPal charges me a fee for that, and I pass that fee on to you.
You probably don't want to heat the pool: There's a propane heater for the pool. Propane has become very expensive, and it would be possible to spend more to heat the pool than the entire cost of the rental. If you really want to heat the pool, I would ask for a special (and large) deposit to cover the cost of the propane. The tank would be full when you arrive. After you leave, I'll have the tank refilled, and deduct that cost from the special deposit.
Only groups with one or more adults over 34: I know that many high school and college groups would be great renters. But many wouldn't be. To protect my house and my relationship with the neighbors, I avoid renting to groups without at least one person 35 or older.
We just returned from Daytona Beach. The house was great. We spent a lot of time at the huge pool in the back yard. The house has everything you need,including pool and beach toys. There were 4th of July themed hats and party favors waiting for us, as well as a pound cake. We wandered the house admiring the art work and decorations. The beach is about 30 seconds away. There is also an ocean view from the second floor living room.
Be sure to check out Boondocks on Mallard, well within walking distance. Also, don't pass up Down the Hatch and Inlet Harbor, both great restaurants in Ponce Inlet, a short 5 minute drive. We will definitely be staying here again next year!
Everything was exactly as described; it was a great house in a great location! We rented for the month of March to try being snow-birds (we live in MN) and were so glad we went with this choice --- it was perfect. Lovely home suited us and our guests just fine. Daniel was super accommodating and responsive for the few times we needed to contact him during our stay. Can't say enough good things about our adventure in FL.
This beach house was everything we were looking for and more. We had a comfortable and worry-free stay. We arrived at the Daytona Beach Airport in the evening, and arrived at the house just a short drive later. The house is very easy to find and “checking in” was extremely easy. We were pleasantly surprised to find a welcome arrangement of food, drinks, and toiletries already at the house to help us on our first night as we were exhausted from the endless hours of planes, trains, and automobiles to get to our final destination.
Since we are stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany and have not been back to the United States in over three years, we were anxious to experience Florida and welcome our family that traveled from the Midwest to join us. First of all, my two boys (ages 9 & 6) could not stop chasing all the lizards that live around the home during the day, as well as the geckos that crawl around at night. The private pool was what sold us on the home, and we were not disappointed. The pool is very large and easily accommodated everyone in our family. Most importantly, a calm, quiet beach that is never crowded is right across the street. Daytona Beach is just a 5 minute drive north.
The home is an hour drive from Orlando…and we did it all! Universal Studios, Sea World, Disney World, Medieval Times, and much more! I was happy to see that Patrick Air Force Base is just one hour south, as well as the Kennedy Space Center. Additionally, Titusville’s Spaceview Park allowed us to watch a satellite launch from Cape Canaveral. The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is a very short drive from the property and gives you a great view of the Daytona Beach Shores, as well as a great museum with a lot of great history exhibits.
Favorite places to eat close to the property are Aunt Catfish’s (try the alligator), Boondocks (try the captain’s platter), Pat’s (great for breakfast), Inlet Harbor (key lime butter!), and Cowlicks (icecream). Port Orange is a very nice town nearby that had everything we’d been missing to satisfy our food cravings.
This vacation was by far the best one we’ve ever had, and we look forward to doing it again! If you’re looking for a place to stay where you and your family can relax and forget about life for a month, look no further! The house is spacious, the pool is huge, the driveway can accommodate 3 to 4 cars, and a beautiful beach is right across the street!
Everything from the community name to the private pool was perfect! Daniel providing a fruit basket and pound cake was just the thing for road travelers arriving late at night. There was even coffee available for breakfast! The attention to detail in the amenities and service was excellent.
The Boondocks was a nice walk - the kids loved feeding the fish from the pier. We also enjoyed Crabby Joes and Genoveses Italian Cafe (and the grill in the back for pool side dining).
The kids would have lived in the pool (except for their nightly beach races). There were plenty of water toys and indoor games for big and little kids. The house was spacious – allowing privacy for a large group.
This is the right house for anyone who loves lighthouses, lovely beaches, and friendly neighbors. Close to Daytona Speedway, St. Augustine, and beautiful golf courses and a
host who doesn't disappoint - we recommend this home to anyone wanting to receive what is advertised.
One of the nicest homes I've rented for Bike Week. Close enough to all the action, but not too close to be an annoyance. Plenty of space and 2 car garage. Daniel makes you feel very welcomed with a complimentary fruit basket, pound cake and toiletries in the bathroom. House is completely stocked with linens, kitchen items and most importantly cleaning supplies. Would highly recommend Daniel and this property.
We (9 friends from Belgium) came over for the Daytona 500 race in February. This time we rented the Beach House and we are happy we did it. On the race days we could get very easy to the racetrack.
On the other days we went to the beach or went for a walk in Daytona Beach.
It was a great stay and also the internet functioned perfect.
