Bright apartment, quiet and welcoming garden with terrace on the v
This is a house-apartment located in the protected area of Lyon. Extraordinary view of the city. Located on the second floor of a house backed by the hill (old stone staircase), it consists of a large living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom with two single beds that can be joined, a beautiful room bathroom, a nice kitchen overlooking the garden. The equipment is very complete and, most often, new. It may be occupied by two or four at most. The sofa bed is very convenient to use and comfortable.

A gem in Old Lyon...
I stayed at Bruno and Christine's wonderful apartment for an all-too-short stay of 3 days, 2 nights. The location and ambiance cannot be beat. Walking around Old Lyon and to/from the apartment surrounded by beautiful buildings and cobblestone under your feet gave us the real "feel" of France. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We did not cook, but had so many choices from groceries to bistros to wine traders all at our fingertips and quick 5-10 min walk away. Prior to arrival, I corresponded with Christine many times to arrange our arrival. She was quick to respond and I never had the feeling as if i was bothering her, which was a good thing, considering how many emails I sent! One our family members arrived prior to us and Christine made sure they were able to access the apartment and get settled in. The views from the apartment were amazing and we were able to capture so beautiful photos during the day and at night. Some of the things we enjoyed on our short stay were walking around Old Lyon, taking the funicular up to see the Roman ruins and the La Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere. We also went to the Gallo Roman ruins museum. It was incredible. Walking along the river, farmer's market and enjoying the parks and green spaces. We hope to return one day and stay for a longer visit. One last remark regarding Christine and her kindness... Our family member left something very important at the apartment and didn't realize it until a couple of days after we left. I emailed Christine and the new guests had found the item. Christine so generously mailed the item back to our family member in Canada. There are not enough words to express our gratitude ! Thank you Christine and we hope our paths cross again soon!
Rooms with Major Views!
My stay was made perfect by being located about midway up the "Hill that prays" versus the "Hill that works", or even down by the rivers. Vieux Lyon is the place to be with so many shops, bars, cafes, traboules, and more! Christine was so helpful in making my short stay the very best. She even drove me down to the place my ship was docked at when it was time to depart. You will find Jardin Colline a welcome flat to stay in with everything you need for a stay of any length. I especially enjoyed eating al fresco in the petite garden with the view over the city. The bath was spacious and the tub deep and relaxing after my one 10 mile day up and down the hills of Lyon. The other days were less strenuous....
You will live like a local in Lyon when you stay with Christine, and I should know as we share the same love of hosting guests in our respective towns (I am a VRBO hostess in Grand Haven, MI)
A very comfortable apartment, great location,
This is a very comfortable apartment, in a great location, and with very helpful and accommodating owners full of wonderful suggestions for experiencing their beautiful city
I could spend a month here and not get tired of that view. What a darling place! Very comfortable and Madam Christine was so kind and welcoming. Located on a steep cobblestone street so be prepared to walk. Very nice shops and restaurants at the bottom of the hill. I can't wait to return!
Idyllic Lyon location - views, light and privacy
Congratulations to Christine who has created a little eyrie of perfection on the pedestrian montee above Vieux Lyon. Such care in the selection of furniture and fittings: such views through the trees, the spire of Saint Georges church, glimpses of the cathedral, the river and the Presqu'ile. There's age where it's needed in great tall windows and marvellous old stone walls plus a modern kitchen, bathroom a washing machine and even a cave! - all in great working order, even a barbecue on the terrace.
And what a terrace - perfection with shade and sun, star jasmine and roses, wisteria, lilies and violets. Ask Christine for help - french coaching, cooking classes - and there it is. Advice and help - where to eat and shop - your own local patisserie, boulangerie, fromagerie boucher, supermarche and wine shop - markets and gardens to visit, the best swimming pool, carry your bag downstairs - it's all there for you. I stayed a month and loved the combination of feeling like a local with all the tourist things - on your doorstep - walk or take the metro or the funiculaire up the hill.
Home away from home
For newcomers to Lyon, the location of the apartment is perfect, being close to downtown and the metro as well as within easy reach of bakeries, butcher shops, cheese shops, and fruit and vegetables. What makes the apartment special is the owner's warm friendliness and helpfulness and the care that has evidently been taken to make the apartment more than just a place to stay. Her fluency in English is an "atout" for those who are still perfecting their French.
The apartment is located midway up a hill on one of the oldest streets in Lyon and there are basically two flights of stairs to the apartment but the climb is not difficult and the result is well worth it. The apartment corresponded in all respects to its description.
The apartment is in the most tourist district of the city. Everything is within walking distance. You will be in the heart of Old Lyon, just a little above the busy streets and enjoy the calm and the view. Our house is on a hillside so you have to go up or down in our paved lane. It is possible to descend only if you take the funicular to return otherwise it takes a hundred meters of climbing. Roman theaters and Roman ruins are nearby. The medieval quarter is there. FourviereBasilica, gardens and incredible views of the city are within 300 meters. Guignol theater down the street. Many museums are within walking distance: Fine Arts, archaeological, Gadagne Museum (history of Lyon), fabrics museum, printing, miniatures, robots etc. You can take a vaporetto (boat) to go to the new Confluence district. Countless restaurants are nearby. Addresses are proposed in the folder in the apartment. Place Bellecour which is the heart of Lyon is a 5 minute walk. for children there are gardens everywhere, tree climbing on the hill, the pool on the Rhone, Guignol down ... It is possible to park on the street but it must first borrow the access to the district board. So you have to park in a nearby street (rue des Farges, Place des Minimes) or the St. George parking on the quay Fulchiron.
