Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

For newcomers to Lyon, the location of the apartment is perfect, being close to downtown and the metro as well as within easy reach of bakeries, butcher shops, cheese shops, and fruit and vegetables. What makes the apartment special is the owner's warm friendliness and helpfulness and the care that has evidently been taken to make the apartment more than just a place to stay. Her fluency in English is an "atout" for those who are still perfecting their French.

The apartment is located midway up a hill on one of the oldest streets in Lyon and there are basically two flights of stairs to the apartment but the climb is not difficult and the result is well worth it. The apartment corresponded in all respects to its description.

Lovely appartment

  • 4 of 5

The locations is perfect. It's near everything. The view is wonderful

The appartment was clean, spacious, comfortable

The owners are very nice. Bruno gave us a lot of information and he answered all our questions.

If I come back to Lyon of course I will rent it again and I absolutely recommend it.

It only needs a AC (in summer) to be perfect 5/5

Lovely views and location

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was the least expensive and most picturesque place we stayed during a three-week European vacation. It was our first trip to Lyon and the location was perfect -- but be prepared for lots of exercise! The centuries old building is about midway down a hill, so there is climbing to and fro. A bit of a challenge with heavy suitcases.

The views of Lyon from the garden and inside the apartment are just gorgeous -- we loved watching the city light up at night.

Our host was gracious and accommodating, she really wants her guests to have a lovely time and it showed.

We would definitely stay here again. Really great value and very comfortable/clean.

Historic with views

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful location with fantastic views over the old area of Lyon. The apartment was well equipped and very airy. Not suitable for non walkers or stair climbers but worth the effort for anyone else. Christine was a lovely host and gave us plenty of information to make the most of our stay.

A bird view over Lyon

  • 5 of 5

The flat is situated on the one of the oldest streets in Lyon. It is important, for it is not easy to understand that one can live in a flat with little garden located on the second floor. But the view is worth it!!! The place is quiet, clean and well maintained, and the hosts are really helpful. There are few nice restaurants near by, many museums, and old churches to visit, so there are many ways to spend the time. Lyon has a long history in silk waving , so you can visit a workshop where the silk shawls or ties are made the way they were done ages ago. I found it very interesting. Thank you Christine for your help and care during our stay!!

Great apartment with stunning city view

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this charming, spacious, quiet and well-located apartment! Christine, the owner, met us and was helpful and easy to communicate with.

The apartment was clean, comfortable with a small but well equipped kitchen that opens out to a charming garden patio, also with a city view. The spacious combined living and dining room has large windows that bring in a lot of light and look out over the city.

The apartment location in Vieux Lyon is excellent, near the top of a house on the oldest street in the city. Walk down the hill and you are in the center of the old city with all its attractions, near a Metro stop, and the funicular up to the Notre Dame cathedral. Cross any of the bridges over the Saone River and you are in the central part of the city. We walked everywhere easily and quickly from the apartment.

We highly recommend this apartment and would definitely rent again.

The apartment is in the most tourist district of the city. Everything is within walking distance. Roman theaters and Roman ruins are nearby. The medieval quarter is there. FourviereBasilica, gardens and incredible views of the city are within 300 meters. Guignol theater down the street. Many museums are within walking distance: Fine Arts, archaeological, Gadagne Museum (history of Lyon), fabrics museum, printing, miniatures, robots etc. You can take a vaporetto (boat) to go to the new Confluence district. Countless restaurants are nearby. Addresses are proposed in the folder in the apartment. Place Bellecour which is the heart of Lyon is a 5 minute walk. for children there are gardens everywhere, tree climbing on the hill, the pool on the Rhone, Guignol down ... It is possible to park on the street but it must first borrow the access to the district board. So you have to park in a nearby street (rue des Farges, Place des Minimes) or the St. George parking on the quay Fulchiron.
